- Well hello there! In this tutorial, Duncan shows you how to paint Obi-Wan Kenobi from Fantasy Flights Star Wars Legion game. This is a well loved character and deserves an in-depth painting tutorial worthy of the great Jedi Master himself.

He did the meme at the start
Dont have the model, have no intent of buying model
But damned if that didnt make me watch it all the way thru
There were more memes and star wars references during the video. Ionce wanted to buy the game to but at the moment im am overhelmed and frustrated with my backlog.
Only imperial storm troopers are so precise...
Can anyone list them???
@@complex9k In the commentsection was a list of memes 2 days ago. i asume its stil there
"better pallet for more civilised age"
"Only stormtroopers would be so precise"
"...even if the tile is so uncivilised"
"Zandri Dust is too much on the Dark Side"
"don't paint from the low"
"just finish it of"
"good idea to use just brush like this"
"when you look at the miniature from a certain point of view"
"This has been the video you are looking for"
"Move along. Move along."
aaaaah he did it again ❤️
You missed hello there
He also used "the force" of the bristles and referred to the lightsaber as being looked at "from a certain point of view"!

Hihi
And the day the video was posted on.
It is only after breaking his ancient blood covenant with the Citadel overlords that Saint Duncan could share the arcane knowledge of the wet palette with mere mortals. "Never! You shall damn us all! You have no idea what you have dooone!" they shreiked. But Duncan was unafraid, undeterred, for his coats were thin. Some even said that this cataclysmic shift of power would be enough to force the malevolent Citadel barons to begin producing dropper bottles- But it was not to be, and the war in the heavens rages on.
That has made our day...well played 😂😂😂
That was beautiful.
What was that? oh sorry i wasn't paying attention, i was just finishing putting my vallejo paints in citadel pots
Crying 😂😂
@@kharak6204 What was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of not wasting my money

"General Duncan! You're a bold one"
"Your painting tutorial would make a fine addition to my collection"
The "Hello There" completely slipped past me on first viewing, bravo duncan.
Duncan: "Hello There"
Me: *Wipes proud tear from eye*
*Starts the video with "Hello there!"*
Me: Instantly like.
"Two thin coats" meets "Hello there."
Unable to contain the combination of two such powerful memes, the internet exploded.
Duncan: Hello there
Me: General Rhodes, you are a bold one
"Zandri dust is a little bit too much on the dark side." You are a bold one.
Only just found this channel as a new painter myself, absolutely love your content. Super helpful without going over the top on faff or jokes. Perfect balance.
Welcome aboard!
HELLO THERE
*LORD DUNCAN!*
*YOU ARE A BOLD ONE.*
Remember, two small light sabers are better than one big one.
😂
Two hands two blades, smart
I like that he doesn’t go over the top with highlighting like a lot of other folks do.
Loving all those Star Wars quotes Duncan :)
Great video, Duncan! Appreciated.
One minor thing I would like to point out that I feel like you guys could touch on, is when applying a glaze the directionality of your brush affects the paint. Glazes, as thin and watery as they are, deposit the majority of the paint where your brush leaves the model.
So, for the white parts, paint it upwards rather than downwards to give the impression of light being brightest at the top. It's a small thing that really helps especially when doing a more pigment rich color like blue or red.
Hi Casey. That's some really great advice and thanks for sharing with everybody 😊
So many references and the first sight of a wet palette on the channel. He's become an absolute madlad free from the corporate overlords.
That mini will make a fine addition to your collection.
*See intro*
General Kenobi
Haha, Dunc said the funny
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
General Kenobi! And May the Fourth be with you all on this project, should you attempt to paint it
"Hello there!"
Great first line, it did not go unnoticed xD

*GENERAL KENOBI*
Duncan and star wars legion, what a time to be alive!
0/10 Not enough high ground on the base.
😂
@@DuncanRhodesDRPA are you gonna paint the younglings Duncan
@@My_wife_left_me they are dead dude
@@euanskii2050 The younglings stood perfectly still. It was very detrimental.
Hello There!
14:31 using the force of the bristles? Nice
Thank you😁
Last time I was this early I hadn't even put my first thin coat on yet
😂
The sheer amount of puns was incredible!
Thank you Duncan for the upload ! 🤘🏻
I’ve been following you for the past 6 years and you are the reason I got back into this fantastic hobby again !
Take care and cheers from Denmark 🇩🇰
Thanks P H and thank you for the great support, we truly appreciate it.
The meme game/reference game is strong with this one.
Amazing as always.
Though I can't get over how Obi-Wan is wearing armor that protects everything but his vitals...
Rule of cool all day every day
In the 2003 Cartoon he wore full clone armor with his cape
its nice to see you finally let loose to make longer in-depth vids, always thought your gw ones were clipped and to short to be fully useful
Your painting is impressive. You must be very proud.
Extremely excited to see more SW: Legion paint jobs!!! Amazing work Duncan and crew!!!
Thank you and thank you for the support :-)
He said the quote so casually it took me a sec like "Wait is he-"
Thank you Duncan, I learned how to not only paint but to love table top games as well.
The amount of references tho :) Great vidéo as always!
Straight faced Star Wars quotes, top notch. Also very informative about painting technique. All in all, well done
Starts with Hello There.
Instant like.
I really like how chilled this is
The way he delivers all those quotes with a straight face...beautiful
Thousand times better than the stormtrooper. Great work.
Stunning! Thanks for sharing, Duncan (and Roger).
Our pleasure!
Wet palette for the win🤏🏻 Love you Duncan!😘
this video is nothing but Obiwan quotes, and I love it.
Cant wait for the Anakin vid.
No surprise that his tutorials are very good, but it’s nice to see him unchained from the warhammer video archetypes. He is able to go into more detail on techniques and explanations.
That's a brilliant method for white armour. I know what to do with my howling banshees now, thanks!
Duncan thanks for all you do - side note my Archaon is painted!!! Thank you for your brilliant painting tips.
May the 4th be with you Duncan!
man this clip if pure gold from start to finish
It's so nice to see you getting to use the full panoply of available tools (like all of us) when paintings mini's now.
Lovely to see a Star Wars painting tuorial posted on May the 4TH, loved the meme puns and more importantly I'm glad to see that Duncan is well and healthy in this uncertain time! I extend the hope that everyone he knows and cares about is also well. My sympathies to anyone reading this who has suffered or lost a loved one recently.
Viva la Duncan! Long live the King
The amount of memes was strong in this one, many of which were so subtle that I don't think everyone even picked up on them.
General Kenobi you are a bold one
As someone who is prepping to paint up a Clone army, this has been exceptionally helpful, especially as it pertains to the armor. I love the technique you used there and it seems simple enough to use on a large army of clone troopers (before adding colored markings, of course).
'A more elegant palette from a more civilized age' you absolute legend, Duncan :-D
General Kenobi… you *are* a bold one.
i love this video. Obi-wan looks fantastic, and all the star wars references are much appreciated.
Soooo many star wars puns, this was beautiful
"Using the force... of the bristles." Lmao 🤣 I was dying here.
Great tutorial as usual. Love the 'subtle' SW quotes that were scattered throughout.
Great job as always, just watching these short tutorials are great to pick up a lot of different ideas and tips on how to improve even at a basic level of skills
Duncan is a meme spitting machine
Great to see the channel focusing on some more character-quality paintjobs. Not as instantly accessible as some of the rank and file tutorials, but great for those who want something a little more challenging. If anyone hasn't subscribed to Duncan's premium content I'd recommend they give it a shot. It's a lot cheaper than something like Mini Wagaming's vault and he posts several videos there for every one that ends up on youtube. His technique videos on applying transfers and painting late war German tanks has really helped me get my Market Garden Germans rolling again.
I am SO GLAD to see you guys doing stuff from other games, especially Star Wars stuff! Warhammer painting gets a ton of great support on CZcams but a bunch of other also great games don't get anywhere near as much.
Hello there
General duncan.
Love the kenobi model and im glad your back painting.
I’m loving all the Star Wars puns. Also nice to see a wet palette in action.
I love you, Duncan. May the fourth be with you, always.
I like how he's referencing up a storm but he never changes his tone.
Zandri Dust on its own is a little bit too much on the dark side! Duncan, thank you for a great video and some brilliant puns along the way!
Great to see that your lighting setup has improved Duncan, great job! May the force be with you!
General Duncan! You are a bold one!
One second in... Beautiful
Hey Duncan! Great video. BTW - I'm glad that you started using wet palette in your videos - it's a big help for new painters.
"When you look at the miniature from a certain point of view.."
Great.
Love to see you striking out on your own like this. Best of luck to you!
Just awesome thank you!
This is single handedly the best video on the internet! Great job man! Keep it up
I like the light in the studio, really nice.
Thank you for the entertaining and informative video Duncan and Roger. This brightened up my day.👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
perfect may 4th painting tutorial
I just enjoyed this video so much!
Absolutely stunning work. Especially that armour. Loved all the puns/references throughout too. Both the subtle and not so subtle 😂
Hello there! Perfect video for May the 4th
That's a great sculpt on that mini! Lovely painting too, wish I could do faces like this!!
Brilliant tutorial, Happy Star Wars Day.
Knowing our lord and savior of two thin coats has his own channel is some of the best news I’ve seen in months 😬
Outstanding work! It looks very realistic. Thanks for sharing this, it was great to watch and learn from.
Дункан!!! Отличный гайд
So nice to see a wet pallet!
I appreciated all the in-jokes
Great work, as usual! Nice to hear you both chuckle at the end xD
The star wars
references in this video is hilarious
Never disappoints
No pun left untouched.
I approve.
Hey Duncan, glad to see you again :)
This is the video I have been looking for....
Ah, excellent!
