I was gutted to hear Matt was leaving , I thought that just be the end with Ol leaving well before. I did wonder if either would have left if they d got the success they deserved . Not only always great live with bellowing vocals off Matt . The only other band I got goose bumps just before they take the stage other than as these is Metallica. That’s how good these are live!
So new line up. New start with classic songs still there

Discovered these guys back in the myspace days, woulda been 2005/6 I think when they had a few tracks up on there, pretty sure an early version of killer from the deep was one of them.

I first heard Evile when Enter the Grave came out, loved that album immediately but kinda fell out of touch with them for years, but caught up a year or so ago. Sad about Matt leaving as his voice was so damn good. Ol did super well for his first ever live performance as lead... sure he flubbed a few lines here and there bless him but overall a cracking job!!
Band sound fantastic, Ol with more practice will hit those higher notes on Cult 👍
Maybe the answer is finding a vocal style for him that fits those higher songs it doesn't have to be the same

I respect why Matt left, even though it sucks he's gone. Ol is a hell of a guitarist, but Matt was such a better vocalist, no offense to Ol. He had really grown those last couple albums, Skull was phenomenal.

He struggled mightily to be more melodic like Matt on Cult. That was rough to listen to. But the growly/screamy stuff, yes, he's good at.

Hay canciones que a mi parecer le quedan muy bien a su estilo de voz como Killer from the deep o las del nuevo disco y otras comp Cult que tiene que buscar como cantarlas y tratar de no imitar a Matt

Ol was a bit shaky at certain points But he will improve with time and experience.
He is taking lessons and is practicing a lot. He will get there

Ol is great. I hope he will become a more proficient vocalist so he could sing more accurately and also keep his voice healthy for the long run

I agree with you that Adam taking over the vocals is a natural progression.
However, in an interview, Ol used the example of Sepultura's early and later, and said that he took on the vocals because he thought it would be better to have someone who everyone knows sing than someone who doesn't know.
I agree with his thoughts 200%, and if he can sing so well despite not being a vocalist, he should be fine. His voice quality is similar to Matt's, and we should expect more growth from him.

I really love this band but Ol's vocals are pretty shit live. I don't understand the guys in the comments who think it sounds good. On the album he's ok, but live, not at all.
