  • This week Patrik revisits one of our fundamental topics, how to optimise your approach to roasting coffee when using a Loring Smart Roaster, as we return with part 2.
The design and operation of this particular roast machine is very different to the silhouette of a traditional drum roaster, and this week we're discussing the position of the cyclone in relation to the generation of thermal energy as well as the importance of getting to know your probes/thermocouples and calibrating to their response.
We'll be sure to return with more information and discussions about roasting shortly, feel free to request a part 3 if you've been enjoying the information so far.
We're always interested in hearing what topics you're most curious to hear us discuss, and social media is a great way of reaching out to us if you would like to make a request.
We welcome your thoughts and feelings on the topics raised in this weeks video, as well as other ideas you would like to see us discuss in the future. We really appreciate your feedback and support.

Nice one Patrik. We just changed to a Loring and experienced first hand what you're talking about coming from a 3mm TC in a drum roaster to the 1.5mm in the S7. Now trying to figure out how to take advantage of the very eficient heat transfer of the Loring. Keep the vids coming!

Hi KP cadnzfin how are you liking your S7 so far? I’ve been thinking about getting one of these. Have you roasted at multiple different roast levels on your machine? Also how is hearing first crack for you?

I try to avoid beans from roasters who don’t use a Loring or any similar machine, because I realized that other roasters do have kind of roast flavor. Maybe that’s because of the things you explain in this video. In the beginning I didn’t taste this from other roasters, but in comparison to a Loring for me it’s possible.

Hi can i ask a question? I'm interested in Nordic coffee these day. I wonder Do you roast coffee the same way for filter and espresso?? Or Do you give the different development time??
    Thank you!!
