- Finland has at the moment a total of 39 National Parks and it’s my goal to visit each of them in different times of the year.

I hiked in the last episode in the Isojärvi National Park which is located at the Eastern side of Tampere. This time I'm heading some 200 kilometres (about 125 miles) further North towards the Salamajärvi National Park in the municipality of Perho. I travelled there last time in 2015 with my girlfriend. We quickly fell in the love with the area. I learned on that same trip about a hiking trail named the Caribou's Loop that runs thru the nearby area and the Salamajärvi National Park. In July 2016, I got the chance to hike the about 58 kilometre (36 miles) long trail in five days. I packed my backpack, charged my camera batteries and sat behind the wheel for four hours.
I begin my adventure at the Koirasalmi nature information hut by circling the loop counterclockwise. The official trail route description is written in clockwise direction, but that didn't stop me. This trip had for some reason troubled me some time before my departure. I found myself pondering backpacking's motives and purpose. I can now afterwards say to have found answers to my thoughts.

I also have been to many National Parks, but since I live close to Nuuksio I am most of the weekends there. Planning Urho Kekkonen next summer. Great videos you made!
Oh and what radio do you have there? I'm looking to buy a small radio for hiking, but not sure what to get. Thanks!

The radio is a Sony ICF-P26. There's also a model ICF-P36 which is the same except a horizontal version.

Hyvä video :) Itse olen myös lähdössä kyseiselle reitille 1.5vk päästä. Tuleeko reitistä mitään erityistä mieleen mitä kannattaisi muistaa? ja tuon jälkeen olisi tarkoitus Pogotan kierrosta lähteä kulkemaan :) Niin ja sun Hammock Gear Incubator, tilasitko sen suoraan HammockGearin sivulta ja paljonko tuli kaiken kaikkiaan maksamaan? (veroineen yms)
Kiitos ja toivottavasti sinun reissustasi tulee vähän aurinkoisempi. Hellettä on ainakin luvattu. Reitti on hyvin mukava kokonaisuus. Osa vanhemmista pitkoksista oli vähän huonommassa kunnossa ja todella liukkaita. Juuri nyt lakat ja mustikat alkavat kypsymään, eli ei muuta kuin keräilemään ja maistelemaan. Kyllä, tilasin Incubatorin suoraan Hammock Geariltä ja kuljetusmaksu oli siinä 30 dollarin paikkeilla. Tullaukseen kannattaa varata ainakin sellainen 20% lisää hintaa.
