  • Welcome dear crafter and adventurer to this episode where I craft a stongehenge looking ruins which can be used as scatter terrain for any tabletop or wargaming game such as D&D, Frostgrave or Warhammer: Age of Sigmar! I really hope you like this video as much as I did when I crafted this stonehenge inspired piece of scatter terrain. The terrain was made with some materials that I had myself but a lot came from the Gamemaster: Dungeons & Caverns Core Set from The Army Painter.

      Dear Devs & Dice, You content is heartwarming and really helpful. I remember my first entrance to the diorama/terrain making, after I watched some videos of Bard's Craft (I think You might be familiar with Lucas), and then, after I saw every one of his videos I could not find any other CZcamsr with the same amount of love and passion about his creations. Yeah, there are a lot of other Ytbers, like Black Magic Craft, or Midwinter Minis and other, but Your content is very special to me. Thank You for the time, You've spend on all of Your projects! I wisz You luck and as many strength to go further as possible.

    • @peterdickinson4599
      @peterdickinson4599 Před 3 lety

      Don’t mean to be “that guy”... but the correct term is dolmen. A lintel does span two upright structures, but lintels are designed to support further structures above them; such as the lintel above a doorway or window supporting the bricks of the wall above. The uprights in this diorama are menhirs and the horizontal slabs are dolmens.
      Just to confuse things further, dolmens were sometimes used as lintels in ancient constructions. But only when building a burial tomb when earth and sods would be piled on top to make an enclosed structure. When freestanding, it’s menhirs and dolmens.

    Thanks for the great video. You gave lots of good tips for terrain building: toothpicks to pin pieces into place for dry fitting, using the foam cutter to detail certain parts, using markers to indent the stones since the ink melts the foam, the way you designed the octagon, etc. I’m in the middle of building a diorama and am trying to figure out which steps to do when as I build. Plus, I’ve made a few dopey mistakes, so it’s all part of the learning process. Be safe and well, buddy.

    You are using the expensive sea foam very inefficiently, check out Geek gaming’s sea foam trees, you need to pull each sea foam piece apart, then glue each individual sprig to your branches, which makes a fuller canopy, sticking them with spray adhesive is also a big time saving tip. Thoroughly enjoying your video style though

    You know, the design would have worked well for a sacred spring/well. The steps up add a natural depth to it that you could go into it with and a focal point.
    Not sure about the statues...the design seems somewhat off to me with the base being a bit to regular for the pillars/henge, and the henge is a bit off with the worked stone of the base and statue...

    Nice work, especially with plants, but maybe stone looks to pale for me (matter of taste). Finally we can participate in some kind of satanic mass or forefathers eve ritual ;P And I must admit that from viewer perspective this white foam looks like plaster blocks, which is very funny and amazing :)

      Thank you so much Marcin! Yeah the stone might look a bit too bright white. Might have to look at that! 😂

    one little question, where did you buy your miniatures ? i'm in France but hard to find them here, so i'm looking for an European supplier...

    • @DevsDice
      @DevsDice  Před 3 lety +2

      Bonjour mon ami! The player character miniatures are from Reaper Miniatures, specifically from their Dungeon Delvers-series. I know you should be able to order them from Reapers official site. The Beholder is from Wizkids and is part of their Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures-line. Hope those answers help! 🤘😊

      @@DevsDice Merci beaucoup ;) Yes i know i can buy directly from reapers but you know import taxes, customs etc... I was looking more for an Online store in Europe, maybe in Germany ? I have binge watched your channel last week (and subscribe to it...), and i must say that i love some of the Wizkids miniatures, so i wanna give them a try. Also i'm more a painter than a player but who knows, maybe a 40 years old guy who had never played a rpg can try, never too late :)

      @@buchsg It is never too late man. Also, I think that Reaper ships out of the UK if you choose it on their site, that being said, there will be Brexit taxes :( I know of a Swedish site that has some called: www.alphaspel.se
