  • The life cycle of the HIV virus is a multi-step process. This animation describes the structure of the HIV virus, receptor-mediated attachment to CD4 lymphocytes, viral envelope fusion with the CD4 cell membrane, uncoating and release of viral RNA into the target cell cytoplasm, reverse transcription leading to the formation of viral DNA, viral DNA genomic integration, transcription of viral mRNA, and translation of viral proteins leading to the assembly of new viruses.
This animation is narrated by Dr. Mark Wainberg, who was Professor of Medicine and Microbiology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, a leading Canadian AIDS researcher and activist.

We have found some weaknesses. We can't cure someone who has HIV, but PrEP can effectively work as a vaccine. If taken regularly, it can be 99% effective in preventing transmission. Combine it with a condom, and transmission can drop to near zero. We must make this drug more widely available!

I have had the same question for some time. Viruses are so complicated and extraordinary that they make me believe in God. Same for cancers, they know how to do so many things, it is just awesome. The more I learn about them, the more I admire them. I would never have imagined.

Michalis Michaelides curing this virus is impossible. Once integrated in the host genome there is no targeted excision of the viral DNA. There are several treatments available but curing someone entirely once infected is nearly impossible. There are currently some speculated ways to attempt to inactivate the virus prior to host integration but this is not a cure and more-so a preventative measure. The other thing that makes it incredibly difficult is a lot of treatments focus on using the body’s immune system, however this virus targets that very immune system.

Plz clear me about that there are two Viral RNAs which are identical to each other but only one is being used by reverse transcriptase to made it into DNA then what is use of second viral RNA ???
And why there are two RNAs in HIV???

    • @asmasattar452

      the second RNA is degraded

    • @princessmike8712

The reverse transcriptase enzyme converts the single strand viral RNA into a short-lived RNA-DNA duplex. The original RNA is degraded by RNase 11 to allow creation of a full length double stranded DNA copy of virus which will fit into the human DNA.

When you realize that one virus is not something alive, its a particule, it’s ridiculously obvious that is human make and that is make for kill. Somebody can tell me since when something inert do cycle of something? Since when something not alive can don mutation but stay the same sometime and sometime not? Since when a particule can reproduce itself? Since when a particules from no where, alone in the nature can create a mecanism inside itself, a mecanism so complexe that we cannot figure it out , and to be a particule? It is possible that randomly molecules and atomes do something like that alone. And it not only that. It a particule but that want to be alive. That reproduce itself for want ? That not alive why that want to reproduce itself ? Only one thing can answer all those question.
How somebody can do it to somebody? How much this person can hate us? Do you believe that love can fix it? Can we love enough for fix it. Do we want to fix it? Its so obviously human make that we just decided to do like we don’t know because to know implicate to ask to ourself we somebody hate us as it. What we did that hurt somebody enough for pushing him to do something disgusting like it ?
