I just took a bunch of shots of my house for practice and to get something for a "Portfolio" The widest I can go is 16mm. It was really difficult to get shots of my bathroom. I ended up deciding to include the door frame.
Is it a 16 on a full frame camera? I have never needed to include the doorframe in any shots. There is always a way. Did you try portrait?
@@AgentCaseyG I didnt think about portrait. I dont think its full frame. Its a Nikon z30.
@@SirFency so portrait usually fixes the small bathroom issues Also I’m pretty sure that is a crop sensor. So your 16mm is actually taking photos like a 19/20mm based a a quick google saying it’s a 1.23 crop.

What do you consider cheap? A good budget for camera and lens is around $1000. You could go cheaper. Find a used camera
Hi, I’m doing my first shoot at an older home tomorrow and I have been studying to see how real estate photography works. I’m seeing a lot of hdr bracketed photos but I wanted to see if that was completely necessary and if I can just take normal pictures interior and exterior. Thanks
I would highly suggest that you do not, because whenever there is a window, he will have blown out pictures. You could get away with it if there is no windows, etc. but definitely stack three. If your camera has that capability to do it and if you can’t edit that hire somebody to edit it is worth it so you can get more clients
@@AgentCaseyG Based off what I’ve seen I think that I’m going to edit the bracketed pictures In light room and go from there. I have a Sony zv1 (it’s a vlogging camera) 😭 but I’ll see what I can do. Thank you!!

Do you do three bracket exposures
Every time. I don’t take the time to switch my settings around at every angle.
What lens do you recommend? My first session was a few days ago and I used a 18-55mm lens
Congrats on your first one! Most of the time I’m using a 15 or 16mm depending on which camera I’m using. 18 will do the job as long as that’s not on a crop sensor camera.
@@AgentCaseyG I use a Canon Rebel t7. I’m not sure if it is or not
That is a 1.6 crop factor. Similar to my canon 90D. I use a 10mm which comes out to be 16mm lens. So your 18 is more like 28mm. You for sure need a different lense.

@@GranndmaStories use a the Canon 10-18mm, everything will come off better compared to the 18 mm. Telling you from experienced, I bought one at extremely good condition at Adorama for ~$200. Makes rooms look bigger, and the angle will look much more professional.

If it’s a full frame camera. Yes. If it’s a crop no. I find 15-16mm after crop or full frame perfect for me
Nowadays many videographers use iPhones for real estate and they get amazing results. What’s wrong with that?

Also what’s wrong with taking nice professional wide angle HDR photos for real estate with iPhone ..
@@legacymedia613 because the expectation wasn’t set. When I’m going to show up with my phone I call it social media video. If they are going to pay for a pro highlight video I give them that using pro equipment. Price accordingly also.
@@legacymedia613 it will pass for ok photos. But you can’t edit them the same…. Yet.
Real photos really come to life in the edit. Not the push a button see what happens auto edit. You still get blown out windows pixelation etc in the phone photos.
