Please get Bobby on the show 😂 That'll be epic!
it’s hard to get Bobby to do interviews but i hope they do
math please mike biv about the big distribution deal he was planning on doing with Eazy E
We need that interview asap
Yea. Bobby don't need no square axx interviewer tryna restrict his story. Bobby need to be in this show so he can be himself. Drink champs ain't it. Bobby don't drink no more but dude definitely deserve his flowers 💐
New edition was the last REAL SUPERGROUP IN R&B❤️
I love how they letting him talk they listening like they real fans
I don’t care what anyone says, Mike Biv is the greatest finesser of all time. My guy managed to finesse himself a 30+ year “singing” career without ever singing a real tune. 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂facts
OH!! And Teddy Riley too
@@williamkittrell7894 I give Teddy more props because you actually hear his voice. We ain’t never heard a solo of Mike singing. 😂😂😂😂
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Nah that award goes to Keith sweat lol
I could listen Mike Bivins talk all day what a life NE has lived !!
I was born in 1985. My dad recorded a few NE music videos on a VHS and I would be mesmerized in my playpen. Ralph’s voice was the only thing to keep me quiet. They were my first big tour in 1997 and I’ve since seen them 13 times! I’m definitely a proud NE4lifer! ❤️❤️❤️
That's beautiful!❤🤞🏾
That's solid. Bobby, Rick and Ralph are my favorites..Rick is my favorite because me, my dad and 3 of his kids are named "Rick" in some way 🤷🏾♀️💕🥰 he deserved more from the group.
BIV is a fashion icon. In the BBD/ABC days I used to wanna dress like them so bad!
Blood me too. Starter jackets, starter hates, overalls, jerseys, everything I couldn't afford 😂
@@Sneakerveli for me it was the airbrushed overalls with one shoe from two different pair of Jordans on at the same time!
He always was fresh to def
Even had us bending the bill of our hats. They were truly trendsetters when it came to fashion
Facts
Greatest G-Check When Biv said,
"Stay Wit Me"
Facts
Yo you remember when he checked DJ Envy when he brought up Boyz To Men contracts?😂
@@gdc6153 sure nuff did i just watched that last week he checked envy's ass who always wanna get in these dudes pockets to see if they still got money so he can shame them I hate envy
@@gdc6153 is that online?
Nah wasn’t a gcheck
I've been watching and supporting the show for a while. I gotta hand to those guys, this is by far one of those best interviews. Mike knows how to paint a picture and I grew up on New Edition!!
Definitely epic
Brings me back to my childhood. Bobby's "Girlfriend" is still one of my favorite songs of his.
Salute to Mike Biv. My mom is from OP and I’m a Roxbury baby. Mike and NE always made us proud.
Salute ✊🏿
I'm a Dorchester baby. Old Columbia Point
Heat st baby here lol
Feeling the vibes!!!!
617 shit
Facts when me and my wife seen them on tour I was definitely stepping like I was in the group 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Mike is a great Storyteller!!💯💯💯💯
After the Temptations, New Edition was the last group that had class, they were a professional R&B Soul group. They are entitled to be honored at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and must recieve the Kennedy Honor Award. Great Interview and thanks for sharing ❤❤😎 😎
🧢. Four tops, The Spinners, the O’Jays, Smokey Robinson, and the miracles,Curtis Mayfield, and the impressions Harold Melvin and the blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass all have class and all of them are in the rock in roll Hall of Fame. New edition is not.
Jackson 5
FAXX
There's a lot more bruh
@@d.j.sen-gee5900
Who had longevity of 40 years together like NE. The look, style, class and professionalism.
Bobby was his own man and im glad he left NE, because he had some dope hits, Roni, My Perogative, Every Little Step. Ralph and Johnny had their solo careers along with BBD, such a talented group which their the GOAT Imo.
I can listen to Biv all day! Real solid man 💯
For sure! I always listen to him and even in watching his demeanor Biv is so grounded!
@@trinamcdonald1865 definitely agreed 💯 I get game from him 💯
You notice there aren't really no more groups in hip hop or r&b.
Ain’t no money in it. Especially with 360 deals
Too many egos. Migos was the last one. RIP Take Off
Yup and new edition still killing
...wat a buncha lost fools. Yea there's no money in it FOR LABELS. And fucc an ego CHUCK D told y'all why ain't no more groups. EASIER TO CONTROL ONE MAN THAN MANY
More money being Solo. Mfs don't like sharing anyway
I am 49 and I still just LOVE New Edition and all their interviews ❤
Same here ,I'm 49 also grew up with this group .
Now that's how you conduct an interview! Big Salute to MATH Hoffa! He let's the guests talk and really listens! We as the viewers appreciate it!!! Mike Bivins is a living legend. No debate! #NE4L #BIIM #ABC #BBD
Biv is that dude! Always down to earth and authentic. He grew but never outgrew his roots. He is a shrewd businessman and drops more jewels than Jacob.
Math is legendary for this interview, that's a music legend right there 🫡.
BIV was in the mix of it….He has stories for days. The whole NE group was around 80’s kingpins. BIV slick shed light but it’s up to them his how he playing it.💯💪🏿
Mike sounds like an older Ma$e... Great interview, what a legend...
True story
He has mannerisms like Raekwon if you know you know lol
Mike biv was the flyest in the group i remember the ‘88 documentary on the making of the NE Heartbreak album dude was fly the.
My favorite NE/BBD member (but I love them ALL). Mike Biv is just the man!!
I have been a New Edition fan since I was in Jr. High school 1983 Candy Girl now its 2023, 40 years later and I still jamming to New Edition..
Mike B is one great guy and businessman. Loved this interview. It’s his time to shine ❤❤❤👏👏👏
❤ him
Boston stand up!
This was my era. I'm glad Bobby flourished afte rleaving New Edition, gave us classics then came back
Biv is a real G! Those Boston kats are real craft street smart but intelligent!
Never knew them cats went to war with some NY dudes
How can you not love this dude
Ageless and Timeless Artistic Icon Mike Bivens Has Arrive! That story is right on brand for Bobby Brown and N.E. the BET bio-film was done so well.
Math Hoffa on a roll ...Ras Kass Ed Lover Killer Mike
Mike Biv 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾
Bivins was speaking 💯% facts about those NE fans ! I’m one of them !! Born 78 #RonnyBobbyRicky&Mike ✊🏾
The story about his moms moving them out the PJs was wild. Moms might've saved Bivs life.💯
Mike Biv always been the flyest dude to me still is
MEO not letting up. This legendary whether niggas know it or not. Barbershop talk with Mike Biv!? Epic!
All facts.....Ralph is my moms cousin......In Too Deep was based on the project a street over from me. Shit wild.#Boston HIT THE LIKES !!!!
I heard them NYC dudes came to Beantown and got money back n the 80s. But he forgot to mention them boys from Detroit coming up there getting that bread in the 80s.
I had no idea that was going on in Orchard Park. Mike’s mother saw “the writing on the wall.” I need to check out that movie.
@marieOH5 which one, ‘In Too Deep’? Yeah, it was a pretty good, underrated crime film. Wasn’t about the 80s itself but an undercover cop flick, kind of like ‘The Departed.’
So "In Too Deep" was like "Training Day" because that movie was also based on a true story. A true story about the Rampart scandal in Los Angeles. And speaking about the Rampart scandal, Russell Poole(L.A. detective assigned to Biggie's murder) relates that to the assassination of Notorious Big. In which Suge Knight use to hire police from the Rampart department, or section in order to do security.
In Too Deep is way better than New Jack City. Plus LL Cool J (GOD) character was way better than Nino Brown. Math be having cats spitting down low facts.
I think Mike was a huge influence on Puffy
On Ma$e, most def.
@@CheckItOutHOODREVIEWS I was talking about him as a business man in music also he was doing those ad-libs from way back... But Mase' delivery and vocal tone for sure
@@CheckItOutHOODREVIEWSoh for real, Mase is wanna my favourite rappers, is there any good songs from Mike?
Definitely. Remember when Biv was on Making the Band (or one of those Puff reality shows)?
YES BIV GAVE THE SHOW DOWN WHEN HE HAS HIS STYLE ..WATCHING MASE, AND PUFFY ..YEAH WE KNOW !!
This is the interview I didn't know I needed..🔥
Mike is a great story Teller
Boston in da building!
That part was in the movie when he went to see Bobby in the projects. Happened exactly like he said
The part about Jheryl Busby going to get Bobby and saying that is in the movie.
Not in the correct way. It's in the movie with Hollywood's version. Listen to what he described
That’s what I was thinking, I remember that part in the biopic
It was in the Bobby movie, not the New Edition one.
Yo Math, thank you and your team for this platform man. I love y'all content!!!!!
People reveal their age, when they don't know the basics of a "Black American culture story". [ Nearly ] Every pre-1980 baby knows Bobby was kicked out the group. I saw NE on New Years Eve (12.31.1984....going into 1985 ) in the Beacon Theater, NYC (w/ my Mom and brothers). Bobby was acting SO inappropriate, onstage. The gyrating, grinding, pumping....we were like, "What the HEY-ULL!?"🤣 It was obvious then, he didn't wanna follow the "boy group' rules.
Them girls on stage tweaking 😂
legend has it, Biv had a deep voice since the age of 7 😂😂😂😂😂
The story about moving and what was happening right afterwards is crazy
New Edition is the one act I regret not seeing live. Well them, Prince and MJ.
I had to fortune to see prince 5-6 times. It was all you could imagine it was.
Atleast you still have a chance to see NE, the closest I came to seeing Mike was a hologram show in Vegas, it was kinda emotional
that show definitely made me cry@@NatHenrickClarke
I finally saw NE live this year in March, simply legendary!
At least New Edition is still around and touring. The hardest part is seeing Bobby in his current shape and to a lesser extent, hearing the Heart Break songs performed in a lower key lol. Other than that, their show is worth every penny. Get your butt to a show before they retire!
Man love this interview, new edition,is one of them groups, that had the drop, and remixes, before they're time trend setters
We was doing they moves at talent shows growing up. Math bringing heat.
Mike Biv need his own podcast...so many people would listen
plus you know he got stories on top of stories
I AM FOOOOORRR SUUURRREE A 4LIFER so Biv ain’t never lied about us!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I could listen to the entire interview of this guy, Interesting way of talking about The Legendary group NE
The scene Mike is talkin about. They used it in Bobby Brown biopic movie. instead of the New edition movie.
That part when Gerald went to Boston to talk to Bobby was in the movie. But the scene was different. Same words "either come to LA and do your solo album. Or stay here and die"
Time to get Bobby Brown on here!! This is epic Math
Biv is one of the best storytellers in the game HIm Eric Sermon I can listen to them all day
His character reminds me of Raekwon for some Reason 💯
Bobby brown, the david ruffin of new edition
That was more Ralph
The part where Jheryl Busby goes to Boston actually was in the New Edition Story. Jheryl played by Tank told Bobby either take this deal or die here in Boston. Maybe Mike forgot, but it's definitely a pivotal scene in the movie.
It’s in the Bobby Brown Movie.. not NE Movie..
Yea it was the Bobby Brown story. Right after NE story. Same Actor played Bobby.
It was in the N.E. movie. I didn't see the B. Brown movie but I remember Tank goin to see Bobby. Maybe it was in both but I only saw the N.E. joint
They show bits of it in NE Story, but the full details were in the BB STory
@@amcgarvin4life30 Go look again. In the NE movie Tank( Jheryl Busby) went to the Brown home and had Bobby come outside to sit in the limo where they had the conversation. In the BB movie his character was portrayed by Laz Alonso and he visited as well.
Mike Biv the truth!!! Salute 🫡
Great video as always.!!
Respect to Mike Bivens!
We love Bobby❤
He was to great to be in a group long- term!!!
Despite his life challenges!
Interview is needed!
From JFKjr to Mike Bivins...........................This Podcast is doing what the Arsenal Hall Show did for those years. It's a melting pot, it's covering everything and everyone. It is across the board.👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯💯💯💯💯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
RFKjr, you mean. RIP JFKjr
@kaydee215 excuse my fat fingers.
I can't wait to hear how Mike started his label.
We gonna just skip over the Jackson five? As for the inspiration of all boy Bands?
I think they mean the more modern post prime Motown era. The Jackson 5 had Tito on rhythm guitar and Jermaine on bass along with Jackie, Marlon, and Michael stepping out front. If I'm not mistaken Maurice Starr went from managing New Edition and started New Kids on the Block circa 87/88. And shoutout to Troop who I believe were better dancers than New Edition.
@@sirjer73 Troop was definitely dancing group and N.E. are steppers. Troop was a great group but then they just disappeared.
@@marieOH5fighting broke them up too. Troop came out when New Jack was peaking. They had to bring the energy and separate themselves from N.E. as far as dancing
Had Temptations, Stylistics, ect...
When the conversation is made its already known that what is meant is that post the jackson 5, post the temptations/motown etc, New Edition is thee model, BECAUSE they are modeled after the groups i previously stated.
This is dope 💯keep climbing
Kicking Bob Out was the Best thing that Could've happen 4 All of them. Bobby Doesn't do DON'T Be Cruel (10x Platinum/Diamond) if He's not Solo.
The concert Tour was 🔥
Great Thing Is Yall Worked It Out & Till This Day Still "Brothers "..EasTexas Respect 2 the "World's Greatest Boy Band"....
You got a Boston icon on your show
Mike B is always been a Goodfella every time we cross paths throughout the years Last time we were both sliding through Chicago airport 🫡..RIP 🪦 🕊️🌹 to my hood nephew H6(huddy6) for the introduction. One of many intros.
Biv is a great interview dude is going to kill on this interview circuit especially on black pods he dropping heat
Him and Rae have similar swag 💯
What people also don’t know is that their old manager that they fired also managed New Kids On The Block.
Get these guys to A Million
That was enjoyable to watch
I know it was crazy back during that time but these back stories are priceless.
BEST PODCAST HANDS DOWN
Been loving the MEO guests lately
It's different hearing stories from people who were there. Great book Hoff.
Yall young ppl...this is the blueprint to success and balln
Great interview. I saw these Brothas in Detroit at the fox theater in 2012 right before Whitney passed. These cats special. Street dudes even mess with them.
It was in the movie.. Bobby’s Movie.. The Bobby Brown Story.. Jheryl Busby came to Boston and said MCA was entitled to give Bobby a solo deal..
BIV GAVE THE BIVNESS ON NEW EDITIONS HISTORY ATLEAST SOME THINGS ❤
I love new edition they're legends
Love to hear this stories behind the music
New Edition is one of the greatest boy band ever.
Mr. Mike Bivins is very well spoken with facts about "NE" history !
