These are my clients, generally speaking. I design their houses in the Keys. I'll be discrete for professional reasons. These are CFOs, CEOs, and the like. We adhere to all local muncipal and state codes for HVHZ, and impact resistance, including wind and uplift, break-away walls, etc. I'm good acquaintances with these owners. The houses are occupied, at best, 2-3 weeks per year and are almost always not permanent residences. Security here is top notch. I can attest they're built for 180-MPH winds.

Many homes of this magnitude in Florida are built to be hurricane resistant. Many of them are also secondary vacation homes for the wealthy.

People who have that kind of lifestyle would simply rebuilt it. Naples, FL (Port Royal) one home sold for $58M. Naples was hit real bad by Hurricane last season. I was just there this past weekend. The rich areas don’t look like anything happened. The moderately rich areas are rebuilding.

Beautiful home. But, I highly doubt you can get that home insured and if you do get insured at quadruple the rates, good luck getting paid out. And each hurricane that comes through the insurance industry is only going to get worse and don't hold your breath if you think DeSantis is going to do anything about it. It's strange that with all of these florida real-estate channels nobody is mentioning this fact.

They bought that for $10 million in ‘20 and now want $18 million. What improvements have been made? It seems like a lot of bright white paint? I remember this listing and the colors were softer and cozier. Maybe it’s just the video production? 🤷🏻♀️
I agree. Glaring white walls accented by black wrought iron and and what would otherwise have been beautiful dark wood trim, conflicts. It has no warmth or charm. It is harsh. I like the structure of the house but whoever selected the colors and decor is a psychopath. As presented, the interior at least, is neither friendly nor attractive. A souless Sheldon Cooper would like it. I do not. Cut the price down to 12 million because the other six million will be needed to redecorate.
Oh, and did I mention the ugly white cabinetry? It is such a beautiful house otherwise. Fix it!

It doesn’t know if it’s Mediterranean style, modern or ikea. Dome finishes are really cheap looking. You can do much better with less money.

Duh same property, different house.
Actually the house was sold November of 2020 for just under ten point five million. The current owner has not done a single thing to the house and is now trying to sell it for almost an 8 million dollar profit which is stupid and will never get it in today's market.
It's vulnerable to a hurricane that could cause a lot of damage . Property insurance is almost non existent for an affordable price , not to mention the yearly taxes , yikes !
