  • 1. 1 O LORD, my heart will praise You;
    Your marvels I’ll proclaim.
    2 I will be glad and praise You;
    Most High, I’ll sing Your name.
    3 When my opponents waver,
    Your face shall make them die.
    4 You judged my cause with favor;
    Your truth sat throned on high.
    2. 5 You have rebuked the nations,
    The wicked are destroyed.
    You drained their reputations;
    Their names forever void.
    6 Destruction shows no pity;
    The foe is terrified!
    You have destroyed their city;
    All thought of them has died.
    3. 7 The LORD shall reign eternal;
    He set His judgment throne.
    8 He rules the world’s tribunal,
    He makes His justice known.
    He governs ev’ry nation
    With equal righteousness.
    9 He saves from subjugation;
    A shield from cruel distress.
    4. 10 You win the full reliance
    Of those who know Your name.
    You never fail the pious,
    Nor put their faith to shame.
    11 Sing praise to GOD in Zion!
    Tell men His saving deeds!
    12 For He redeems the dying,
    He hears their humble pleas.
    5. 13 O LORD, extend Your mercy!
    Behold my wretchedness
    From those who hate and curse me,
    You raise from gates of death
    14 That I may praise, emphatic,
    In Zion’s city gates.
    I reel with joy; ecstatic
    In God who liberates.
    6. 15 The heathen realms are sinking
    In pits their hands prepared.
    In nets they hid, unthinking,
    Their foot is fast ensnared.
    16 The LORD is viewed with rapture
    For wise and just commands;
    The wicked man is captured,
    By works of his own hands.
    7. 17 The wicked meet damnation
    To fester with the dead,
    And likewise ev’ry nation
    Oblivious to God.
    18 The poor shall not continue
    In low oblivion;
    Their expectation in You,
    Shall never be undone.
    8. 19 Arise, O LORD, with power,
    Do not let man prevail;
    Judge ev’ry nation’s tower,
    See earth’s defenses fail.
    20 O LORD, bring consternation
    To ev’ry citizen,
    That ev’ry prideful nation
    May know themselves but men.
