I was looking for videos of wide width Chacos and didn’t come across any so I thought I could post one for people who are curious. I personally wear the wide ones and my spouse wears the regular. You can’t tell the difference very easily by looking at them so I did a little trick for you guys to be able to visualize it better. Hope this video helps anyone (with wider feet) who are in the market for Chacos!

You might notice more of a difference between a regular and wide in the same size rather than a 7 & 8

Thanks so much for the detailed comparison. This is super helpful. My normal size is 7.5M with a bit wider feet so I bet Chaco 7M Wide will fit me well. I tried Z1/Classic 8M Medium in a store and it was a bit long and narrow. So downsize 7 and wider makes sense!
I have the same problem. At one point I thought I would never be able to wear Chacos until I tried the wide version.
I appreciate this so much! I got the ZX2 Classic in a size 10 Wide. I was hoping the toe loop would fit but it makes things tighter but on my heel, the shoe is longer and fairly loose. I'm gonna exchange for no toe loop and size down. thank u so much!!

-why do people wear them over flip flops (I wear flip flops, I’ve never worn sandals ever, so now I’m curious)
-why does Birkenstock have to do a lot to your sandals? Is it because they don’t have wide sizes?
-how long do those last?
-can you compare them to other sandals? How do they rank?

Definitely recommend “downsizing” as I am also a 7.5 and I wear a 7 for them.
Great video, not a lot of info on wide chacos. My regular chacos dig into the side of my heel, are the wide chacos heel cup a little wider as well?
Yes ~ they are wider at the heel, too.
What do you do with the extra strap that's hanging after you do all of the adjusting? :)
Mine doesn’t have much strap left over but I have seen some people tuck theirs in or let theirs hang. It doesn’t seem to be a big bother. :)
Hey there! I'm deciding if it's better to buy size 7 or 8. But according to the size chart the chacos website has, it says I'm 8. Are the shoe size accurate?
All the specialty foot stores told me to size down if you are between sizes so that is what I did. I am a 7.5, got a size 7, and it worked great for me. Hope this helps!
I normally wear a size 9 in closed toed shoes, but wear a 7 wide on the chacos. I would say go to REI if you live near one and try different sizes on.

Hi there! I’m shopping for the same sizes you’re showing, 7 wide and 8 regular. It’s especially helpful to see this video. Looking at your video, surprisingly, the two sandals appear the same size! It even looks like the 7 wide could be longer than the 8 regular?
Do you think it’d be possible for you to measure the outsoles of the two shoes length and width, in inches? I understand it’s been a while since this video, so you may not have the shoes! But just in case you do…
My other question is, I also wear Birkenstocks. Can I ask what size do you wear? And is it the regular width (vs the narrow) that you take to the shoe store to flatten?
I have tried to look up measurements, and the outsole of my Birkenstock Gizeh EVA foam version is:
10.5” long
3 7/8” wide
1 3/8” heel
I’ve been trying to get the measurements of Chaco sandals, and it seems like the regular size width of a size 8 might be similar at either 3 7/8” or 4” wide. Does this seem accurate?
The 8 is longer than the 7 for sure. I wear a 38 in Birkenstocks and I had to have them tailored to fit my wide feet.
If you try on regular Chacos and feel they are a bit “snug” then you need to go with the wide.
@@reviewerofallthings5189 thanks for your reply! I ended up getting the Chaco in size 8 regular, but the Z Volv model which is supposed to have lower arches which might work for wider feet. I haven’t gotten to use the sandals much yet but they seem to work, as well as the footbed is supposedly softer than regular

If the length of the 9 is good but the width is a little narrow then definitely go for the wide 9. If the length is a bit long and you got the 9 because you needed the wider size but the size 8 was too narrow then definitely the wide 8 will be great for you.

Well this was a ridiculously frustrating video. Comparing two different sizes is like comparing a red and green apple! Not the same,the fit is based in the heel to ball measurement, so these two have to fit you comfort wise differently. I was trying to compare the difference in the markings of wide vs regular but the focus on this was just as ineffective. This could have been the most helpful had they been the same size!
I thought the two sizes were very similar but to each their own!
I just bought regular width and I’m wondering about the wide ones. Can you share a video or picture of your feet in the regular and the wide?
You can view the difference in the video. There is a visual comparison with some paper cutouts so you can see how much wider the wide one is.
An on your feet comparison would have been very helpful!!!
