Don't read, take our narrative. We know how busy you are. You want to graduate, right? How will you ever take care of your loved ones if your busy learning the truth! Then you can tell everyone how right you are while you're busy grabbing at random smutted straw, only to hope for survival.
Is that what he was saying?
Ya God bless
Whoever drew the illustrations for this video deserves a medal. I just love the goofy looks all the characters have in each picture. Anyway, excellent job on the video!!!
Exusemeprincess17 And everything was exactly how I imagined it!! Just proves to me what a powerful writer Mark Twain was for creating such a similar vision for all his readers!
Damnn shitttt 8 Yr ago!!!! How are you brother?
Had 10 weeks to read this book, yet here i am-watching this video one night before my English class's book talk ((((-:
edit: guys this was 4 years ago. my class was only allowed to read the book during free time in our class, so all we got was an estimated 5/10 minutes each day... it is not that serious. i was fifteen and now i’m twenty. this was ages ago! no need to be harsh. we all consume literature at different rates and that’s okay. hope everyone enjoyed the book!
Eunice Escobar ok SAME
i had 1 week 0_o
And they say people are different...
Eunice Escobar I’ve never related to a comment more.
10weeks!? We have at most 2 weeks to read this and have to write a critical analysis for it for final exam 😂
Exam tomorrow...let's hope spark notes came in clutch.
TypicalRocky this is me too bruh 😂 I got an exam tomorrow too
TypicalRocky so how did you do????
how that exam go???
Ap English essay on this book for first day of school

Tom pissed me off he forces everyone to go on a painful adventure for no freakinh reason.
I really love mark twain and have read both books multiple times and this is so true for both of his novels. Tom is so full of himself and immature. I mean HE. IS. THE. WORST. He's the 1800s version of Caillou! Huck Finn is so much more multifaceted. He actually has a personality and reasonable motivations and is such an easier character to relate to. Plus he actually seems to care for the people around him. :/
There's always that one friend...
Grace Wasson
Tom was a much better kid in his own book. (He helps a condemned man and he helps Becky when they get lost in the cave.
this is like a sparknote of the sparknotes lol
philly doe haha, so true
Spark-ception
Tom is supposed to represent Romanticism, as viewed from the point of view of Mark Twain, who lived in an age of realism. Huck represents the realist. Prior to the Civil War, when times were pretty dull, people wanted to read the wild adventure stories that Tom liked; after living through the real thing, people found the adventure stories pretty silly.
I'm definitely telling this to my literature teacher, she asked us to read the book and hear our thoughts on it and your comment gave me a new perspective!!
there are so many interpretations on the book and examples

Zack that’s a whole mood. I read a different book every week (when I don’t have too much APLang hw) but I still haven’t read any of the required reads

When laziness reaches a new low

In high school I had to do a report on it, didn't read the book. The night before school I was flipping through my TV and on AMC was a silent film version of the novel. "Sometimes laziness uh uh finds a way." - Jeff Goldblum
Seriously, I would prefer to watch anime all day instead of do school work so this helps a lot xD
Lol
For the people not reading it, YOU SHOULD. It's one of my favorites, and just listening to the sparknotes version does it a huge disservice. Read it for yourself, you wont regret it.
Reading this is part of my summer assignment for an AP class. Just checking up, to see if I remember all the main points.
Lol same here

Bruh perfect for when u read it like years before

This book is very interesting, but very hard to follow. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around the terrible grammar to understand what's going on. Thanks for this video, it definitely made me realize a lot of what was going on that I didn't understand!
I found the best way to understand the grammar, more specifically when Jim is talking, is to say it aloud. When you see it you don't really understand but if you say what you see it sounds right and you're better able to comprehend it. Worked for me anyway
Matt Nemeth another way, is to use a website such as audible or Loudlit and listen to the audiobook
JakandCrash you just pinned down all my reading issues with that book!
You can listen to an audio book because the old language and when jim talks it's hard to read
Omg sane I could barely follow it. After finishing the book, this helped me sum it up
I’m high asf tryna write this paper wish me luck
I used to get stoned in school; read this whole thing and failed english by only reading books, and not writing the reports.
Good luck! And stay safe:)
Huck is a boy about 13 or 14 years old, he is the son of the town drunk, he always wears ragged cast-off clothes, Huck never goes to school and does what he wants. He is good at outdoor things and homeless as well.
As a person who has read the book; this is INCREDIBLY accurate. Not a singular detail missed!
Think one of my favorite missed parts of the story was where Aunt Polly was counting screws and Huck kept taking and replacing spoons.
I haven't read any of the book. Thank god for this video I have a test tomorrow.
Matt, you dodged a big, smelly bullet.
Kidz hut Happy birthday Dr vipul
Matt I hope you failed
did you pass?
@@itsblitzkrieg8911 stop giving negetive vibes
My least favorite part of the book is when Tom didn't tell Jim and Huck the truth and made them go through more trouble because he wanted "adventure", which was pretty selfish. Besides that, I give the book a 6 or 7 out of 10.
I guess his punishment was when he got shoot
Yeah welp he got shot for it
What book would you give a 10 out of 10?
You're giving Tom's character a 6 or 7 out of 10. What about the book as a whole?
I thought his name was N IGGER Jim
It was one of my absolute favourites as a kid.
Read it every summer :)
It was my dream to float down on the river Mississippi following huck and jim - too bad that the conditions have changed not for their benefits over the decades.
And your dream now?
Mark Twain: I’m gonna say the N word
I came here cuz of the book my dad got me 😂 by mark
It was normal To his day.
@Jesus Christ No, it's not! I'm approaching seven decades, Stalin was still alive when I was born; I've seen real racism, and it was the Democratic Party. You're nothing but a dictionary definition of what Saul Alinsky called a useful idiot, and your comment proves my point. You don't know sheep shit from burnt cottonseed.
@Jesus Christ I live in the South too, have all of my life, my second wife is black, so fucking what; you're nothing special. And yes, it's the Democrat party who are the party of racist, Jim Crow, the KKK, the Confederacy, and fought against civil rights or integrated schools. It was the Republicans who freed the slaves, brought about the 14th, 15th, and 16th amendments, the civil rights act, and abolished Jim Crow laws. Those are the facts, I lived through the '50s and '60s, I was there, deny all you want to believe in an agenda, but if you buy into the bullshit that the Democrats are slinging, you are a useful idiot.
Lets be honest, depending what time period or area, the states have quite the number of discrimination from race, sexism, but no place should be labeled worst or better
Nice summary, helps make the major plot outline more clear, but the book is definitely worth reading, all of the meat is what makes mark twain such a famous author
It's a really good book
Probably my favorite book from early teenage years and I'm from Eastern Europe. It was like a fantasy novel for me, so many alien customs and laws.
Mark Twain wrote the true-history of America, even truer than the history books.
Reading all these comments realizing all u guys are in my exact same position lol
Same
wish me luck
GOD BLESS WHOEVER CREATED SPARKNOTES
I loved this book as a kid and still do. One of the best books written by Twain and one of my favorites!

thank goodness for sparknotes! I couldn't understand this book one bit
I NEEDED TO WRITE AN ESSAY AND THIS JUST SAVED ME
I started to read this book a week ago. Not for school, but because I find this part of the American culture very exotic and interesting for me as a European. Now I am reading the book in English.
As someone who grew up in the Northeast US, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and later Huck Finn (my dad didn’t let me read Huck until I was 11 because of the language; the only book he wouldn’t let me read) absolutely enthralled me as a child. We have our hicks (I am one) and hillbillies up here, too, but it’s different culturally because of the agriculture/industrial dichotomy of the south and north respectively. Reading those books were like a passport to a different world, even more so than Narnia, Middle Earth or Hogwarts, because Twain’s writings were so viscerally real. If you got time for it, Tom Sawyer is more of a fun tale with less high stakes
@@mikeydubbs8565 thank you for the suggestion! What are hicks and how are hicks different from hillbillies?
@@pheeku6996 Hicks are different from Hillbillies mainly for two reasons: Hillbilly is a legitimate ethnic group. Also, Hillbillies are strictly from Appalachia. A hick is an outdoorsy person from more populated areas like New England (Hi!) or the Midwest. It is used as a derogatory term depending on the context, but I like to reclaim the term. Tl;dr Hicks are basically rednecks that aren’t from the South
@@pheeku6996 Hicks like to do things like fish, hunt, go (real) camping, some people like my uncle are survivalists, to the extent that you could drop them off anywhere in the wilderness and find their way back to civilization or safety while staying alive using their surroundings, knowledge and instinct. My uncle went through a crazy class where to pass it, they did just that
@@mikeydubbs8565 thank you for the information! There's so much to learn about the USA
I fell in love with that book as a child I forgot how much I much
I couldn't force myself to read this book, so this just saved me.
Thank you ❤❤❤, tomorrow i'll be presentation about this novel.
Thanks!! this really helped me!!
These little clips are so amazing and helpful! Even for those who read the books (really liked this one by the way) :)
I was watching this video just to understand the real novel. *THANK YOU* by the way.
Thanks for your summary. :) 😁👍
That's crazy. What a good ending, I would've never had the patience to read that to the end.
This'll help me with my book assignment tomorrow! :D
This is such a great book!
This really saved me thank you!!
The version of the book I had ended with Huck deciding to become "sivilized" again with Aunt Sally. Are there different endings or is this video wrong?
I honestly didn’t understand a decent amount of the book but this helped a lot. Thank you!
Thank you videosparknotes very cool...
I used to love reading huck Finns adventures when I was little. My mom read it to me and I read it on my own. Slowly I began to understand more and more of the themes and what’s going on.
I loved this book!
Such a relief. Thank you so much
Hey! I want to guess you’re also doing AS Lit on Monday, the Huck and Unseen paper?
@@amoeba6000 nah. I am preparing for my job interview. I did B.s( Hons) in English three years ago. I have to prepare lot's of stuff which I didn't even read during my degree.
Good luck👍🏻😊
@@mahamkhan7365oh that’s so cool! I wish you the very best for it and hope everything goes your way 😊
@@amoeba6000 Thank you so much ❤😊
Break a leg✌👍🏻👍🏻
@@amoeba6000 Here is the tip.
First step is to make a character map. Now question is how? Put a protagonist in the centre draw other circles near him/her write name in circles. Connect them to the others and in arrow between them write their relationship for example siblings. Read their relationship and remember profession names etc. Read it three times.
(2) : Now it's time for summary. Read summary one time
(3) : Watch movie, play or animated movie based on the novel
(4) : Now read summary again.
It's the best way to memorize your novels and plays in a short time. 😊
I read the book but I was confused and this helped a lot
One of the greatest American novels...a picaresque adventure novel with historical and social context of post-civil war era in America.
