    Great job! I went with 29's just for that reason....no trimming. After if was all said and done I have 15" clearance in front and 14" in back, so I adjusted the shocks accordingly. Its ridiculous how much difference it is. Best money i ever spent on my '14 Commander XP.

    I have a stock 2013 Can-am commander 800r yellow just put 30 inch tires on my stock commander it did have 27 inch tires they fit good enough space between back tire and frame looks bad ass love it! My clearance now is 15 inches off the ground pretty good for stock!

    Yeah, I wanna let you know. I got a 2013 commander limited and I did the same thing you did probably five years ago, but I actually spent a little more money in and bought king shocks and a travel kit but the same brackets they had to jack the rig up, I love the rig. It’s great for camping and fishing and hunting. I had to take the stock shocks off because the air pump system. The pump kept running back-and-forth and getting hot and shutting down and it really wasn’t a good system because when you raise the rig with the air all the way full height, it still rides stiff when you drop the air out to the bottom it’s still stiff, so why? I went with King shock.

    Looks good, glad the one guy I can find that has decent commander videos has basically the same as me. Except mines all stock, 1000r

    The new wheels and tires look sick! By far my favourite wheels. Also like the TPB quote 😂, do the spacers for sure! Make it look even better! And I’m guessing u bought the cryptids brand new because when u do that you get true sizes but the ones that come on the XMRs stock measure 1-2” short which is weird.

    I just installed this same lift in a 2017 commander 1000xt, not sure if the newer ones are different but there was no cutting of the bracket required. Just had to pop the vent line fitting out from the factory location and there was a spot to pop it in on the new bracket. PS: love the look of the new wheels and tires 👍

    Hey Pal, nice work, it looks like we ran into the same issue dropping the nut when doing the front shock.
    One thing I noticed but not sure if you added it off air is that the front mounts also use the original shock bolts in the original holes. This gives you the most support.

      Hi there, I had same problem dropping the m6 nut down drivers side front in a un reachable spot that took over an hour to find and retrive and 4 cans of beer later, As i found installing new front brackets mine were had to fit too slight tap with hammer and hole tad bit out too. Same again with drivers side rear i cut angle piece miss vent tube for rear diff, As for price for this 2.5 lift kit to Australia was $ 453.38

    The stock cryptids on my 22 outlander xmr measure small. If you order them from a tire shop they measure an inch bigger. No idea as to why. Maybe a brp spec or screw up? Many atv tires don’t measure as listed. I have a 2017 commander and ordered the same lift today. Putting a set of 28 inch big horns on it since I already have them . Been using them for trail rides on the xmr.

  • @nicholaslamb1262
    @nicholaslamb1262 Před 3 lety

    It took me like 2 hours to get my front brackets in and the shock tower assembly won't even fit in the aftermarket bracket unless I grid it down and then it won't even line up with the hole unless I use a spring compressor

    • @CommanderOutdoors
      @CommanderOutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      I had to do that on the rear brackets, it’s seems there’s some inconsistencies with the brackets from super atv. Not a big deal though. If the kit cost 700 bucks I’d be pissed off, but for it being as cheap as it is, I can’t really complain too too much haha

    Hey Bud, I am installing the same kit on the same bike. Did you have trouble getting the shocks to fit? For me its really bad at the rear. The control arm will not travel down enough for me to get the shock in the bracket. Almost like the shock is too tall. Also, in this position, my brake line is stretched to the max. and I still need another inch to et the shock to fit. Am I missing something?

    • @CommanderOutdoors

      Fixed. I was raising one side at a time. I then went and dissasembled the other side and POOF, they both lined up perfectly

    • @rudyshoplopez7366
      @rudyshoplopez7366 Před 3 lety

      Hey bud.. I'm doing mine.. And ran into that situation where there's not enough room anymore on the shocks to fit.. You can lift the Commander off the ground some more so the other side stretches and you can move the position of the arms up and down some more until you fit the shock correctly it took me a few minutes to figure out that but I got it all done in the back now

      I have several friends who have had nothing but bad experiences with Rhino and Demon axles, mainly the CV boot is utter shit and rips almost right away or the Gear clamp is on so tight is cuts the CV boot and the grease leaks out. Turner Eagle and Gorilla are the brands I haven’t heard too many bad thing about, and let’s be real real life experience is worth 10x more than some online review.
