  • Angler's Covey Guide and Montana Fly Company Signature Tyers, "Hopper" Juan Ramirez sits down and ties two of his signature patterns for blue wing olives. Juan's Jedi Master Baetis and CDC Comparadun are two excellent patterns for imitating blue wing olives in both nymph and adult stage. Juan is such a stand up guy! Always there with fresh information. Humble enough to give credit when its due to others. Unlike some CZcams fly tyers.

Question: are the CDC dries hard to see on the water? Do you ever add something like a few strands of Fluoro fiber to increase visibility?

@@jdigioia1130 depends on the lighting. Most of our guides stick to cdc by itself and the dark gray silhouette is actually fairly easy to spot on the water

Black shirt makes a hard background color to see tying fly details.

I picked one up a few weeks ago. Still getting used to it especially making sure that the hook is in the proper position in the jaws. I’ve had a few hooks pop right out on me. 🤕
