Ryan Rohauer in stock form yea but when built right there the best. 47re/48re's are swapped into high power duramaxes and powerstrokes often. they hold up the best

Is he using one of those Gear vendors under/overdrive units for high gear?
How could you tell ?? I just saw the quick shifter and a few buttons (he might of had a electronic torque locking torque converter setup But any-who, Gear vendors under/overdrive units can do that. That's one of the reasons why it was made. Great product expensive, though.
can anyone explain P-pump to me? I've seen people say it before but i'm not sure what it means. the 2 times that i saw it, it was on a 24 vavle cummins.
MrSapper21 yes, a P-pump is an injection pump from a 12 valve converted to fit a 24 valve for more reliability and performance reasons.

Additionally, it was used on stock dodge cummins trucks from 94-98.5. Its an inline mechanical pump that can be modified to flow alot of fuel and you don't need a laptop and genius programmer to tune it. You can see it sitting on the left side of the engine with the 6 closely spaced fuel lines running to the injectors.

Jerry Baker alot of 24 valve guys swap to p pump because the vp pump which comes stock on second gen 24 valves cannot flow as much fuel as easily or as reliably

Holy shit that racket on launch.. Tires? Clutch? Straight cut gears? What's causing that horrid screech?
The horrid screech is the tires crying for mercy as approximately 1500 ft/lbs of torque is being twisted through them. Seriously though... the heated sticky tires grabbing and releasing to a very sticky traction compound prepared drag strip. Gas cars make that sound too. Its harder to hear since most gassers are straight piped non turbo engines (louder exhaust). Just walking on that surface makes noise as your shoes release.

Why on earth would anyone replace a 12 valve with a 24 valve if you're going to go to the trouble to convert the 24 valve to a p-pump?

Heath its a diesel 65 pounds is nothing compared to the like 3000 pounds of cylinder pressure it creates ( i believe its around 3k )
The motor is built with a stronger alloy metal for the crank, connecting rods & pistons.

You'd be surprised, a room mate in college had a 12 Valve in a 97 Ram with compounds on it that would tag 100 psi and made like 1300 lb-ft and driving it normal he'd pull 18-20 mpg with it. I still wish I had the money when he sold that truck....

Actually it is not polluting the air the black smoke falls back to the ground. A normal gas engine car is polluting more than this.

While the contents of the soot might be cancerous it, for the most part, gets trapped in our nose hairs and doesn't actually enter our system in a big enough quantity
