    Great review!
    Without watching this video first I recently had ordered the same cameras and they are now currently out in the woods. Although I capture entirely in video mode, I basically used the same criteria when ordered on Amazon. I run a string of over 60 cameras and frankly I’m tired of people stealing them. I’m steering towards cameras with the no glow feature and cheap. I first camo them even further using caulk and paint. Using a small step ladder for added elevation, I like to cut out a cubbyhole in the side of a dead tree and cover the area using the same bark scattered on the ground. Of course I carve out the bark only the areas necessary for the sensors and lens. What an amazing difference. Of course they’re not really secure, but who cares, they’re cheap enough to risk it. I’m anxious to see how they work for me.

      I appreciate it! These little cams are performing awesome still and happy to have taken the chance on them in the first place. A lot less of a hit on the wallet when you get one stolen...

  • @5mattcolour

    Got a handful of the Campark ones. They're good if you're covering a huge area and need 4 or more cameras without the risks of having them stolen. Very happy with the results.

      I picked up a few more this last month. Will be making a big push to figure out some public in another state this next year and plan to just hang them high and pray that no one messes with them. Regardless, a lot better to be able to cover more ground with less financial risk out there!

  • @davidhoy8997
    @davidhoy8997 Před 4 lety +5

    Thanks for that review. Last fall I undertook a study to update my inventory of trail cams. Half of them were first generation cams, the rest were purchased based on price, most were obsolete or junk. My main priority was user friendliness regarding set up / programming, the screen being a must. I ended up with a couple Zopus, a campark and a cabella’s, all under $100 ( with gift certificate for the cabella’s). I rate the Zopus the best. A simple thing like having the control labels in white
    on black vs black on black make a big difference in the field. The campark was similarity a good camera, but, it had the micro SD card. Good luck switching those out in the great outdoors. So, I ordered 2 of the camparks based on your work. I initially made the determination to buy US made cams, but, after viewing the options, like you, I put out a dozen or so cams and could not bring myself to by the least expensive US cam for $200. So much for my patriotism........

    • @NextStepOutdoors
      @NextStepOutdoors  Před 4 lety +1

      You would be surprised how many camera companies are outsourced and like you said, the ones made here are expensive. I try to buy USA where I can but it would be extremely difficult to cover much area spending $200 per cam...

    • @do7hemath937
      @do7hemath937 Před 3 lety

      Good morning Dave. I just got my first camera and I was wondering why you said good luck changing the sd cards out in the woods.
      I'm thinking about buying a 4 pack of cards setting them all up and changing them out every day or 2. I'm trying to catch a thief.
      The camera i have has a rubber protector that you can pop out to expose the USB port, but you have to open the bottom door to take the card out and it's only 1/8" below the USB port. 🤔
      Seems like they would have made it easy to change out the card instead of taking down & hooking the entire camera up to your PC.

    This video was so helpful, thank you! I'm looking for a trail cam to watch over my garden in the back yard. We have critters, but not sure which ones were bothering the garden last year, so decided to get a couple of trail cams to watch over it. Your video has helped me to decide which one to go with. I recently purchased one of the slightly more expensive Campark trail cams (wifi/bluetooth) and wanted a less expensive one to go with it. I wasn't sure about the Campark Mini, but you helped me to decide that it would work just fine for what I need it for! So, thank you :)

    I have a few cams too, Apeman reviews are due to free gifts not quality! After mine stolen I only buy cheap ones just to see what's going on in the wood. Yes they do look very similar - but the Mini ones are surprisingly good pic quality, easy to erect, long battery life and Quiet (some were so noisy). You can also get lenses for closeups.

    Good review mate. Here's my opinion.
    Apeman brand cameras are inexpensive. But I faced are 4 out of 10 cameras mulfunctioned within few weeks of trail use. 1. Menu malfunction, 2. Auto zoom mulfinction 3. Poor night vision 4. Leaking 5. Pink glare. 6. Broken battery hinge. I wrote to Apeman manufacturer directly and they replied I can't get warranty if I do not buy directly from them. They even claimed I bought imitation Apeman. Oh man, its common we buy cams from local resellers to avoid the hassle and waiting time. Just my 2cents worth of feedback to warn would be buyers

    • @NextStepOutdoors

    Nice job on this video. While recuperating fro surgery last fall, I decided to update my inventory of 10 or so trail cams most of which were antiquated and/ or junk. I was most interested in the user friendliness of the cameras as I had a few that were terrible. I settled on Zopu and a campark, both less then $100 and a cabella (gift certificate) about $150. I rate the zopu the best. Like in your comparison, there were many offerings that carried a different name but were actually the same product. Just a simple thing like having the lettering for the controls in white on a black background goes a long way compared to the black on black cams. In addition, there was an issue with the zopu. While peeling the lens protection off, it ripped in half. Likely because I did it in cold weather, zopu replaced it with minimal effort on my part. The campark is a decent camera, but, it used a micro SD card rendering it useless to me. Good luck changing out one of those in the bush. So, I ordered 2 of the campark cams you reviewed. Thanks for the assist.....

    • @NextStepOutdoors
      @NextStepOutdoors  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for the feedback! If you still have the cam that takes the micro SD cards, they are really cheap. Since this video have deployed the cams in the field and have been really satisfied with their performance, especially considering the price tag.

Unfortunately I lost those 2 and 6 others in the north complex fire here in northern Ca. Unfortunately as well, those hollywtop are no longer available but after watching your review today they look exactly like those letscom you reviewed and had the same specs so Im betting they either just changed the name or like you said are made by the same mfg. I will be grabbing a few just to try them out. Thanks for the great review and video.

    Decent review, good video. Would like details on the number of pics per MB/GB as well as the number of video clips per MB/GB. Battery life would also be worth exploring. I've got one I bought at a Walmart Black Friday sale and have been looking to add more cameras . I was impressed by the videos and the still plus video option (would like to have heard more about such a feature).

    • @NextStepOutdoors

      Interesting, I never thought of the pics per MB/GB etc. Could probably calculate that some how. Battery life has been impressive so far. I've had these cams out since early spring in high traffic areas and are all still running strong. The video+pic option is nice because gives you a still image and then a video clip. That is what i've been running my scrape cams on.

    Great video!!! I have been exclusively running Browning cameras for years and like you I wanted to expand without spending a bunch of money. I bought one of those Apeman cameras spring of 2019 and I absolutely hate it. It still works and I still use it but the video & picture quality is the worst. Pretty much what you showed. The Apemen claims to be 1080p HD but it is not even close to that. The editing program I use detects as standard res... So I have been very reluctant to go the cheap route ever since. I thought about getting a couple cameras to record activity around the house, good information for someone who doesn't know a thing about those cameras, I don't have a computer so a viewing screen is a big plus.

    I've been running Apeman H55s which is a model up or two for a hair more money. I've very happy with that camera. I'm running 7 cameras and I get some awesome pics day and night. Only bad part is I have my sensitivity on one camera really high as its on an open field, as im trying to get more pics of elk further out. Takes pics of elk out to 60yards so its doing exactly what I want but I do have a lot more unnecessary wind pics doing this, but miss very few animals.

I have a group of turkeys that come in my yard in the morning Eating Crack corn and wild bird seed.. and they are squawking like turkeys.. love that sound!! and I would like to film them with audio? I guess if he didn't mention audio, I guess these cameras don't have audio? Well keep looking?. super great video... I have 3 toguards like the ones in the video, the only qualm I have with them is even on low sensitivity you get a lot of branch sway and unnecessary pictures. They are very sensitive, so sensitive they pic up a squirrel about 30 yards out and trigger the camera. On the other hand you hardly ever miss a deer and you can pinpoint the settings to damn near not miss anything. I had to retire one from night time use because a wood pecker demolished my ir functions
