HE'S THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!

I first learned about Juggernaut through this game, and even then, it took me some time to find out that he was even an X-Men character, even when his only Super Combo says it right there.
Later in my life, when I went backwards to play X-Men: Children of the Atom, where Juggernaut was only a boss, I was completely bewildered by how much tougher he was. He had a lot more Super Armor, and maybe even Hyper Armor. The game pretty much randomly decided whether or not he'd flinch from your attack.
Going forward to this game, Marvel Super Heroes, it looks like Juggernaut's Super Armor was nerfed a whole lot. You have to land consistent, damage-growing chain combos to make him lean back in pain, but softer combos and single hits will only make him flash and shake, but he'll continue his attack if he was performing one at the moment.
One thing that personally amused me is how I never even got to fight him in my previous playthroughs, at all. Playing as him can more than make up for that.

Juggernaut is bigger and slower than even the Hulk to compensate for that Super Armor. At the same time, he's capable of dishing out an INSANE amount of damage in a short amount of time.
One of his specials is the Cyttorak Power-Up, which makes him flash red, and makes a single attack do more damage than usual. It's really, REALLY good using this alongside the Power Gem, and smashing your foe into atoms afterwards with the Juggernaut Punch or his Super, the Juggernaut Headcrush. Check that out at 7:00!
His special Infinity Gem is the Space Gem. With it, he flashes grey or silver, and some of the annoying Super/Hyper Armor he had in Children of the Atom comes back where nothing will flinch him, making him truly unstoppable. He also becomes completely invincible, as any hit on him will only decrease the Space Gem's meter. Just watch how Dr. Doom's Molecular Shield completely eliminates the effect in 10:52 (which is also when the video desyncs its audio for the rest of the match. Sorry about that.).
For some reason, while Juggernaut's under the effect of the Space Gem, the only thing that can still hurt him is throws. Probably because throws did more damage to him compared to any other character back in Children of the Atom.
Finally, his own throw where he laughs in your face and slams you to the ground is my favorite throw in the game. "MUA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"

Although you can probably tell that Juggernaut can get me hyped, he probably has the worst ending in this game.
In Juggernaut's ending, he's defeated Thanos, and with no one else in his way, either, Cain Marko reaches for the completed Infinity Gauntlet, ready to get one-up against his step-brother, Charles Xavier/Professor X, the founder of the X-Men, himself!
But then suddenly, Adam Warlock appears and claims ownership of the gauntlet, instead. He thanks Cain for beating Thanos, and saving "lifekind", despite his work as a villain, but Adam also refuses to let him gain the full power of the Infinity Gems, and sends him back to Earth. Juggernaut is left alone and distraught, knowing that for all of his efforts to gather the Gems, it was all for nothing, as they were literally taken away from him.
The music after he's sent back home helps to show how disappointing things went for him in the end.

I was today years old when I realized the reason they put Juggernaut in here was because he was an unplayable boss character in "X-Men Children of the Atom" the year before.
He is playable, but hidden character. Same with Magneto. Atleast on PS One port.
I like the fact that some villains are also playable characters in "Marvel Heroes", such as Juggernaut and Magneto. It's also nice that, each character has a wordmark of his/her/its own.
I fucking love Juggernaut in this game. I’m total trash with him, but they perfectly captured a character that has never been easy to adapt, while also not making him unbalanced.

Perhaps the only arcade game I beat! Loved it and using Juggernaut. Thanks for the upload. If you can find it original what if volume 1 what if Professor X became the Juggernaut is an incredible book. Really is unstoppable. Final panel reads Nothing can stop the Juggernaut and nothing ever will! Find the book and you'll know what it means. Not the obvious is my only hint. No spoilers!
A very good story. It has one of the most heroic an noble versions of Cyclops and for some reason Wolverine doesn't appear.

Juggernaut has surprising air combo capabilities, especially in this game, as he seems to punch and kick quite fast in the air.
I THINK Juggernaut was deemed slightly overpowered in the original Marvel Super Heroes game, because in subsequent fighting games with him, they made him slower, and might have reduced his overall power in other ways as well. I never played Marvel Vs Capcom, but watched other ppl playing with or against him, and they slowed him down considerably. I remember when I played him on Marvel Super Heroes, I could get a 7 hit combo, then 7 hit head crush, immediately followed by another 7 hit head crush giving a 21 hit combo. When you factor in that his hits are powerful, that he takes extra hits to stun and knock down and extra hits to interrupt his attacks, PLUS the fact that he's basically as fast as everyone else, I would have to agree that he was overpowered.
I heard people refer to him as using the easy mode, or calling him the character for dummies or newbies to use. I can't really disagree. I played him as a newbie b/c he looked like the type of character that would be good for someone who didn't know how to play the game, was right, then continued playing him b/c I got good with his moves and combos.
that's because when he appeared in XMen Children of the Atom, he was a boss character and as such, he was overpowered, like Magneto
latter appearances they toned them down as they're playable from the start

Juggernaut took out Professor Hulk while in his civies. Hulk didn't know he was facing Juggernaut! This was when he was captured by Apocalypse and turned into the Horseman WAR! If you can track down a copy worth the read.

Juggernaut is equally an X-Man and Hulk villain, and he has also been a Spider-Man villain too, without covering appearances he's had against The Avengers etc.
the machine i used to play on was set to one of the highest difficulties, so i unfortunately got juggernaut as the last guy before thanatos every single time. nothing like a max difficulty input reading juggernaut super armoring through everything you throw at him.

I am also a huge fan of Juggernaut because of these Marvel arcade games, I just made a video of his official modern costumes with helmets that can rotate his head sideways cause classic Juggernaut helmet is fixed, screwed to his body as you can see here so he has to turn his whole body just to look left and right lol

So Juggie has gone from hard as balls midboss with super armor, strength that hits like a truck and ability to use an iron girder as a weapon power buff from Xmen COTA arcade game to a nerfed out playable one for this...time has changed.
InfernoNick17 and they went even further toning him down in the following installments. For me this is the most nimble, versatile and fun version to play than in other games, the only special move it lacks was that when he buries the opponent in the ground with a couple headbutts then punches him out, and that move was available only in X Men vs Street Fighter, they removed it afterwards.

I loved playing this game in the arcades. It is such a shame that they ruined this game when it was released on the PS1
The same can be said for Marvel vs Capcom when they did this as well. At least the Dreamcast kept this game as it was in the arcade.
To be honest, you're lucky you never faced him. Because if you do, you're totally screwed (due to his insane strength). After Thanos and Dr. Doom, anyway.

Nathan Alexandre Thor nearly died at Juggernaut's hands. Be grateful Cain is a bully not a psychopath. If writers write properly there isn't anything that can stop him short of cosmic level power. BTW as he exists he's never been stopped. Just slowed down. Now how slowed down can matter. That and he's received even more power than before! Now immune to psychic attacks.
Hulk beats Juggs in the comics, but in the games Juggs is better.
