@@abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz2176 not sure if ur gonna see this but, yeah. it freaks me out pretty often. looking around my surroundings seeing all the people, looking at the people i talk to etc etc, and realizing we'll all be dead someday. and i'm only 16! that's how scary death is. but, i'm sure at somepoint i'll accept the reaper's comfort to my own death. i'm sure....
Ever since the first time I heard this as a kid I always imagined it being it slowed down like this. It suits it, brings a type of melancholy vibe to this, which it deserves.
there's no need to fear this said reaper . what makes the reaper frightening? reconnection with passed family, friends, pets. he's not out to kill us , he's here to collect us, bring us to the afterlife, help us cross that bridge. he's not to be feared but to be cherished.
It's terrifying because if you don't believe in an afterlife, you are faced with the maw of oblivion. The endless black void at the end of everything. Everything you ever were, all your achievements, all your thoughts and emotions. They are all swallowed by that abyss at the end. The worst thing about it is we cannot preserve anything about ourselves as we are in our living state. Art can be interpreted. Memories become muddled and fade. When we die, there is nothing left of the true self. The Reaper is a manifestation of that cold death. He reaps us like wheat, like we are nothing but crops to be harvested. He breaks down our individuality as to him we are nothing but crops that need to be harvested.
We are not made for darkness we couldn't comprehend nothing. There is either something or nothing. Nothing means no presence just as much as it means the void of darkness. We won't know. We will not understand.
0:00 - 3:02 A lone man in black drives along a dirt road just as the sun begins to set over a vast countryside. tinted shades attempt to hide his broken gaze, a single picture hangs from the mirror of a loved one. The long black Cadillac grinds along the now gravel road. A puff of smoke exhaling from his mouth. 3:08 the man looks back in the mirror to see a man in black, a wretched grin upon his face. "do we have a deal?" the man asks. The man dips his head, slowly rasing it to see the picture dangling from the mirror. 4:17 he sighs. his for pressing hard on the gas as the man in the backseat snarls. his true form flickering into a wretched beast. The world slows as the car slides across the gravel towards the lake, the man cracks a slight smile before finally submerging into the cold abyss.
When my mom died my uncle who lived with us when insane. He went schizophrenic. I remember coming home from middle school going down in the basement with him blasting music and I remember the feeling of pure ignorance of the world. This song put words and feelings to all of my thoughts and confusion and everything I was feeling at the time. The year I lost everything this specific song made me find comfort in everything. I’m 20 now. I still live with my uncle and he still blasts music in the basement but now it seems like I don’t care about what plays. Tonight I was feeling a little extra emotional I guess so I decided to take a trip down memory lane and with this song being slowed it just hits different with a little bit of nostalgia. Thank you very much for making this song. I hope no one ever understands the meaning of this song or the feelings attached to each of the people who have listened and will listen to this song

At the end when shes takes death's hand. You can really feel her passing within the music. Every time I listen to this incredible song my imagination takes me away and i picture it all take place in my head. Anyone feel this way about it?
One hundred percent, I have it in my head she’s in her bed with the moon coming in through the windows, then Death’s standing there with his robes blowing in the wind. She takes his hand they they fly towards the great beyond as the guitar screams it’s beautifully haunting song in the background
Yes! this song is definitely a coping mechanism for me. I feel at peace when I listen to it, and like everything is going to be okay.
