I also have mad respect. Poor Miss Marion has a lot to deal with. Aging parents for which you think you have a sister to help you with and then all of a sudden you lose her and your nephew. Then in the middle of all that, you have to go and testify and dredge that memory up.. Coming back to court a couple weeks later and making an impact statement and dredging all that up again? No thanks. I think I'll conserve my efforts for things I have real control over. And no reason to put her parents through that either.

There were no brakes in this family. Thus the boat wreck that would eventually cause the house of cards to fall. I thought it was great to let Alex keep talking while he was testifying. I knew he’d hurt himself by continuing to talk. Paul spoke from the grave with the Snapchat. Little detective indeed. I pray the Appeals Court will deny Alex a new trial. The judge was the best I’ve seen. We can’t understand the mind of a madman. I’m glad nobody called him a narcissist. I think many people are fascinated by the psychological side of this horrific crime. How can a successful, supposedly happily married family man do this? Birmingham City University's study of family annihilators found 4 types of family annihilators- self-righteous, disappointed, anomic, and paranoid. Murdaugh fits into the anomic type. These are the ones that equate their family with financial success, and once the money isn't there, the family becomes meaningless. I remember looking this phenomenon up after it was mentioned in an episode of Law and Order, and was thinking through the whole trial that this time it wasn't, sadly, a fictional case.

Talking to Alec having no clue he was looking at them with hate and rage ready to shoot them dead . I think after AM shot Paul he could of yelled to Maggie that Paul shot himself. Thank you for a job WELL DONE! Justice WAS SERVED! When Maggie's sister testified and she said to Alex "I hope she didn't suffer" Alex said "she didn't". How would he know unless he was the murderer! Also when he was SO EMOTIONAL on the stand and said the ones who did this HATED PAUL...I felt like THAT was his confession! Bravo..what a great team you have. Thank you again!

When John Marvin testified about how hard it was trying to clean that awful scene, his gaze at Alec was piercing. Tragic.

@@gerardmoussart5555 I agree, I think the whole family is corrupt in more ways than one! The trail of pain left behind by all of them is unbelievable.

Man I just watched the documentary and boy the whole family is gross. Mom, dad, kids, Grandpa etc. There are so many victims outside of this incident. All needs to come out

Mob/Crime family mentality for sure...all of them. Oh, and Good Ole Boy club all the way. It would make a very entertaining show actually.

@Elle N- both the Netflix and HBO documentaries offer really amazing (and sometimes different) insight and focus. If you can, watch them both. This family was in deep!

Mad props to the whole prosecution team, especially Creighton Williams. Through all the disparagement and criticism, you kept your eyes on the prize and got justice for all of Alex’s victims. Bravo!
