Thank you for doing this. I really appreciated the comparison between the wood burner and impulse sealer. I ordered one this evening.

Hi Karen, Which one did you choose? I use them both, depending on the mesh. I just love being able to seal the edges and minimize the fraying.

@@Kitobby I chose the one you have. I have a wood burner, too, but I am not good enough yet to control my fraying. I am looking forward to trying the impulse sealer!

How do you get the mesh lined up to cut down the same "row"?

How wide a piece of mesh can you fit in the impulse sealer?

      I haven't met a mesh yet that doesn't fray even a little.

Very interesting. I have had the same thing happen with discoloration on ribbon. There is a product on Etsy called Less Fray Spray. I was wondering if you have tried that. It says it is for deco mesh.

No I haven't tried that spray. I found it on Etsy and just ordered it. I'll test it out! Thanks for the suggestion.

Absolutely, I'm loving this one! It's the VVivid 12" impulse heat sealer. I got it off Amazon, here's a link... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YCH167Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What did you set your Vvivid 12” impulse heat sealer on? I look at one like your’s on Amazon and in the description it said you set the set the heat to whatever you want.... I haven’t ordered it yet but am going to as soon as you tell me how to set the heat for mesh. It really looks like a neat way to cut mesh w/o fraying!!! So glad I am a subscriber of your website !!!! 👏👏🌟🌟🌟😃😃😃🌟🌟🌟

I fluctuate the setting depending on the mesh. For deluxe foil mesh - I set it all the way up to 8, for value or basic mesh I set it to a 5, I will usually test a piece first on a setting and go from there. My only recommendation is to hold down the lever a few times before actually putting any mesh in... this gives the heating element time to heat up.

What kind of impulse sealer are you using? I looked online and they look like a large (12”) mechanical bar that pushes down. Is that what you use?

Hi Diane, It's the Vvivid 12" impulse heat sealer. I'm loving this one so far! This is NOT an affiliate link, but here's the link to the one that I bought. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YCH167Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@@nancylopez3251 I don't think I could wait either. If you've been used to rotary cutting mesh and it fraying, I hope you'll love the impulse sealer. Don't forget to have something heat resistant under it. I have a heat resistant glass cutting board under mine. Let me know how you like it.
