  • Here's a fascinating portrayal of Jesus trial and march to his execution that takes place every year in the streets of San Isidro, Costa Rica.

I wish we did this. I live in Middle-of-Nowhere, MS, and it's a pretty small town, but if our church did this on Holy Week, people might feel a lot more connection when the crucifixion story is read.

we always read this gospel narritive from John (at the foot of cross) on good friday and we all play the role of the crowd chanting crucify him. Which we all shout with our actions everytime we sin.

God doesn't want us doing that , constantly portraying Jesus as a defeated man , Jesus is the ETERNAL KING OF KINGS .... The catholic church always loves to portray him as either a little baby or an emaciated victim of suffering , while Mary is a queen and the pope is a king

Third world? Not at all! Costa Rica is fantastic! It ranked 12th this year in the World Happiness Index and has over 98% literacy and no trash.
You should consider traveling more to learn more about other people. Even if travel's not an option right now, you could still read books and take in art from other cultures to help overcome your ignorance. The world is a big place filled with interesting, diverse people, and I think meeting them and getting outside of your bubble would help soften some of your biases against people who aren't like you.

What are you talking about? Good governance and management are what make a country wealthy, not religiosity. Costa Rica is considered the "Switzerland of Central America"; they have a healthy democracy, no standing army, and an overall healthy political environment. It's ironic how you claim religion as what makes a country "Third World," considering that their former colonizers, the Spanish Empire, which by your standards, despite being the most religious country of its time, managed to also become the wealthiest empire in the world.
