On a rainy drive to the anticipated new year's Mario Party, famous hero Mario Mario would accidentally swerve off a cliff, causing himself, his equally heroic brother Luigi Mario, Wario ███████ and Waluigi ███████ and crash after falling around 55 metres (~180 feet) and landing near the river down the Mushroom Gorge. When emergency services arrived at the scene, the Mario Brothers and Waluigi would be found injured to varying degrees, while Wario would be found hours later around 710 metres (~2330 feet) downstream, having gotten caught on a fallen tree's branch and a rock. Wario would be declared deceased upon discovery. Mario reports that the accident happened after he was 'distracted by a really bad fart from Wario', causing him to swerve off the cliff. While it isn't likely that he'll face criminal charges for the incident, his driver's license has been revoked by officers on the scene. Miraculously, Luigi wouldn't receive any major injuries, and while Mario and Waluigi received major injuries, they both somehow managed to survive. "It's a miracle that Wario was the only one taken in the crash" Luigi said upon questioning after leaving the hospital. "I remember seeing my brother under that chair, and before he got up, I thought he was gone. After nearly 30 years with him, there was a moment where I thought our story together was over. I am forever grateful he managed to survive." Waluigi also had some statements about the crash. "I don't know if it's because of denial, but I didn't think that Wario had died when the crash happened. I saw that the three of us were okay, and I just assumed he landed farther, but still survived. They found his body while I was asleep, so I found out early in the morning after constantly asking if he was okay."
