Learning Objectives:
Identify the distinguishing features of the most common hypervascular and hypovascular masses of the liver
Compare and contrast common benign and malignant liver lesions
Recognize exceptions and atypical presentations of lesions, particularly with Eovist/Primovist
Summary:
Focal Nodular Hyperplasia:
-T1 isointense, T2 isointense
-Arterial phase hyperenhancement
-Equilibrates with background liver on subsequent phases of contrast
-Eovist uptake
Hypervascular Metastasis:
-T1 hypointense, T2 variably hyperintense
-Arterial phase hyperenhancement
-Early washout
Hepatocellular Carcinoma (in a cirrhotic liver)
-T1 hypointnense, T2 mildly hyperintense
-Arterial phase hyperenhancement
-“Washout” and “Capsule”
