@@karencheung9179 Homework can, indeed, help one consolidate what they've learned about multiple topics, for instance, English homework can allow one to learn different ways to utilize this language, and how can they effectively communicate with others. Doing homework can also allow students to memorize some key knowledge that is essential within some topics. However, having too much homework causes more harm than good. Say, if you were to be given at least 10 pieces of homework per day, you will get demotivated by just looking at the sheer amount of homework assigned to you. Sure, as the saying goes, "practice makes perfect", but excessive practice doesn't necessarily mean that you will get better results in examinations! Being forced to do homework does not help a student actually learn about the topic, instead, it will just be spoonfeeding them "knowledge", which will be forgotten as soon as they are done with the exams. TLDR: Homework is only good if given appropriately, More homework != Smarter students
I think doing homework is really important. If student didn't do more homework, they don't have a good result in the examination.
Like Hong Kong, the students get more homework to do. All the students didn't have to do a lot of revision before exam.

it is because you believe learning/going to school is for examination
That’s why HK student studying is only for examination. After examination all knowledge disappeared.
