I don’t know if you noticed but Mustard’s rare league card states that he achieved the champion status by defeating the fairy type gym leader, most likely being Opal
Most definitely being Opal. Opal been the Fairy type leader for 70 years. Mustard became champion more recently than that.
It’s kinda crazy considering it means he beat a whole fairy type team using fighting types
@RaspBéret It would make sense since it would be extremely rare for someone to go 70 years without a championship. Plus she would have most likely complained about never winning the big one if that was the case.
@@peluchefuzz may be he had a toxicroak/lucario who died
@@richraichu1370 😳
The fact that Mustard lost his partner pokemon is actually kinda depressing...
Me: **Looker XY flashbacks**
Me: *Alder flashbacks*
Lost a Pokemon, started to lose alot and the former chairman tried to get him into a rigged match in which he declined
dragon king leonides1527 || back in the XY days I had a carracosta I really loved. I was dumb and traded it. I swear I felt the same way that dude did
“Kinda”?
I never would have thought Austin Powers and Shaggy Memes could be referenced in a Pokemon game
I'm sorry WHAT?! I haven't watched the video yet this is gonna be interesting
The future is now old man
Good one Game Freak
I thought the shaggy one wouldve been goku, since averys characteristic is nerdy
*Yeah baby*
Since ancient times when a move says "The user" it refers to the Pokemon using the move.
And the "I'm only using x% of my power" is a old manga/anime trope, not original from the Shaggy meme.
Don't let shaggy hear you say that.
Zoinks
Came here to say these two things. You're a gentleman.
You are too dangerous to be kept alive
...frieza
The fact that Mustard was originally a fighting-type gym leader, along with how Bea fought Leon in Twilight Wings, makes me heavily headcanon that Mustard trained Bea at some point 👀
She’s canonically said to be self trained..

6:07 it is a double battle move that incecrese the user attack and defense so even bulbapedia said 'In a Double Battle, Coaching boosts the user's partner's Attack and Defense by one stage each.
' hope this helped someone
It’s basically a bulk up for the ally Pokemon, but it is used by another Pokemon.....
Basically, the Pokémon using the move assists each other allied Pokémon that's out, raising their Attack and Defence stats by one level. Since I haven't taught or used the move yet, I can't confirm whether the Pokémon using the attack will also gain the stat buffs or not, but I would assume it wouldn't.
Iirc we already had a doubles move that boosted stats to an ally, this being Lucy’s signature move Decorate. Not gonna brag but Lucy is a super rare swirl pattern. Playground rumors say to spin for 30 seconds at dusk.
If you stand in front of Mustard's tv for too long, he will ask you to move since he can't see the screen. Also, Coaching is used by the Pokémon to boost another Pokémon's stats, not used by the trainer.
When I first saw Honey, she instantly reminded me of Princess Daisy!
I had that Same thought as well
Same
She's Jimmy Newtron's mom
I also heard people say that the "Oh behave!" thing could be a reference to fans' reactions on the trees in the Wild Area prior to Sw/Sh's release, since before approaching the Vespiqueen, Hop says something like "Is it reacting... to that tree?!".
I hope it's this
It’s a reference to the word beehive. How is no one getting this.
Just a Cardboard Box Everyone gets that, but the fact that there is an "oh" before that is what people point to when they make the connection to the Austin Powers phrase.
Fun and happy Pokemon fact:
*If you want to catch a pokemon, weaken it first!*
OMG, really???
Ohhhhhh...... so thats why my safari pokemon wont get in the ball :|
Pokemon GO players: *[visible confusion]*
Holy sh|t that’s so helpful!
Here's another fun and happy fact:
Piplup doesn't have opposable thumbs, so it wouldn't be able to shoot a gun, let alone hold it. 🐧🔫
I hope to see more “sub-regions” like the Isle of Armor in future Pokémon games
Sevii islands: am I a joke to you?
not for 15 bucks. this was a waste of money.
Ceil Yurie are you kidding? This is well worth the fifteen bucks! For starters it’s a ton of stuff to do, explore, catch, experience, obtain, battle, and more. It’s like having a third version planted straight into the game without having to pay for and play through sword/shield again. Furthermore if you do decide to play through again, you can have an entirely different experience by mixing the old story and this new story together into one experience. It’s extremely well done, and for fifteen dollars, a great deal
@@FRSentertainmentco. there is nothing to explore, it takes like 30 minutes to see the entire island. Battling is the same, it is jsut more of the same. And if this was all that was added to a third version it would eb a rip off. the Ultra games added more unique things. And threy fucked up the following mechanci so it si more annoying than anything. I can't even get peopl;e to do raids with me because it is easier to jsut exploit to get the crap the dlc adds than to do it the intended way.
@@FRSentertainmentco. and if I palyed through again, it would be jsut to get the other Urshifu form and to get a secodn Zacian to trade for a zamazenta, so iw ould literally jsut go through it as fast as possible. The island didn't add much to the game to be worth 15 bucks, if anythign it jsut added more shit to gridn for and pokeball lootboxes in the form of apricorns in the cramomatic. Oh,a nd soem rather fuckign useless move tutor moves.
I know this has been known for a while. Battling that giant Wailord in the sea will result in it disappearing for good.
Don't battle it if you want Wailord to remain in the scenery.
I ran into Bae in the desert area. Also when you get a rare ball from the Cram-o-matic, kid reveals that Mustard and Kurt seem to be friends.
I think bae being in desert sandstorm area is a reference to pokemon twillight wings ep2
You forgot to mention that Mustard's card mentions him defeating a Fairy -type Gym Leader in the finals to be crowned Champion. The timeline lines up perfectly for that Gym Leader to be Opal!
I can't believe an Austin Powers joke snuck into Pokemon somehow.
here's something else that's pretty interesting to that amazing fact
In Austin Powers Gold Member. The line "Oh Bee Hiiive" was also used as a flirty response to the character Foxy Cleopatra when she referred to their relationship as "a taste of honey, but wanted the whole beehive".
Avery is a legend. Hes considered a failure because he cant teleport, has gorgeous hair, probably says mlady, is able to make a whole ass person levitate AND he references shaggy memes. I stan him so hard im typing this with his face on my phones keyboard
6:18 the way I read it, I think it means the Pokemon coaches an ally Pokemon in a double battle.
Exactly, like why would it say ally if it wasn’t for double battles, it would just say Pokémon.
yes it says "the user" which clearly means the pokemon using it lmao idk why thats in the video
Also the animation has the user Pokémon with a whistle. It's not the trainer using it at all.
How does it work in a double battle tho?
Idk about that first one, Frieza did that a lot
So did beerus
Coaching is used in Doubles or when multiple Pokémon are on your side, like in raids, however it does not effect the Pokémon using the move, and it only works on allies on the field.
2:44 another point to back that up is the fact that there is a bed for all 3 starters there even tho only squirtle and bulbasaur are there
Fun fact: when returning Averys uniform he will be so speechless that he will say 'all' twice in a row
Seen here: 7:52
Is that actually how Coaching works? I haven't used it myself, but took that description as meaning it was meant for double battles, like Helping Hand, targeting an ally Pokemon and boosting their stats, not the trainer boosting their Pokemon's stats
I think that Hyde could also be a reference to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. HYDE, as the island is hiding from plain sight, but it could also mean something else, like it's suggesting something...
What is Mustard hiding?
No, the question is HOW OLD IS HONEY!??!?!?
@@fennekinthefennekinsaltacc358 Jeff Goldblum's wife is 31 years older than him. He'll be 68 in October. Maybe Honey is 35-45 years old
OML MY FREIND IS FRIMING CRAXY ABOUT THAT SHOW/THING I CAMT REMEMBER BUT WOW
@@fennekinthefennekinsaltacc358 Late 30s to mid 40s most likely.
If there's a Jekyll in the Crown Tundra I think the theorists will flip out.
I definitely thought the same thing about Austin Powers. I also noticed that Piers' obstagoon says "shouu ou oud!" near the dark tower which kind of sounds like "shout it out loud" from the KISS song.
Edit: spelling
OMG Obstagoon is coloured as the KISS members, so that's sweet
The big question is: Why is Mustard so much older than his wife?
She’s as old as him. Plastic surgery
Love is ageless as long as the age is 18+
War does that to ya.
Did you guys forget Honey never expires....
Pokémon punned on you guys.
Tanner Ryan Why would you do this to me
I've been waiting for some Pokemon content all day
Another potential reference: Kangaskhan is right after Cubone and Marowak in the isle pokedex, alluding to the theory that cubone's mother was a Kangaskhan
That's not nearly as big a reference as Cubone having been able to call upon Kangaskhan for help in gen 7, so if you're thinking that theory is proven now... That already would have
Easter egg: some gym, leaders visit the isle of armour, for example, piers tells you to fuck off because when you're near all hell breaks loose, like in the post-game quest. allistar tells you that he's sweaty under his mask, and something like that
7:13 also, besides for honey mustard, his name is a different way of spelling "mustered" as in mustering strength which he actually says in game, which is a reference to his fighting type origin and the fact that he's old now and only musters his full strength when he battles
Can you imagine battling Austin Powers in a Pokémon battle XD I’m so down for it
I legit hope going forward game freak keeps doing the dlc like they did the isle of armor
And maybe give us a new eeveelution.
How that would be extra cool.
Metalleon
Drageon
Bouldeon
Quakeon
There's a actually a video from the channel "Lockstin & Gnoggin" explaining why there will most likely not be a new Eeveelution. But if you want the explanation in a nutshell from me, read on. If not, here's the video link. czcams.com/video/Cvn23DLmTPY/video.html
Anyways, Pokémon types, believe it or not, are separated in two groups: magical types, and physical types. Magical types include Fire, Water, Electric, Psychic, Dark, Grass, Ice, and Fairy. Physical types are Fighting, Ghost, Poison, Dragon, Bug, Steel, Ground, Rock, and Flying, with Normal being the in-between. Magical types are more whimsical, mysterious, and well... magical. Physical types are more reserved for intimidating and hard-hitting Pokémon. Eevee is obviously a more cute Pokémon, and it's evolutions are all magical types. For Eevee to evolve into let's say, a Steel type Eeveelution, it would take away the original cuteness and charm that Eevee had. Steel wouldn't fit very well with the elemental-based evolutions Eevee already has. Basically, Eevee is adorabe and charming, and so are it's evolutions. Maybe sometime in the future, there will be a new Pokémon, who is a counterpart to Eevee, who only evolves into physical types.
@@bin6549 if they do an area based on Arabian/Egypt mythos you probably might see a ground eevee looking like a sphinx.
@Jack Dillon26 I don't get how ghost is weak to dark. Ghosts love hiding in the dark
Why is the guy named for a condiment holding the monopoly on magic soup.
Oh my god, I just realized the mushrooms are in themselves an easter egg... for Alice in Wonderland a British story.
You know with the Caterpillar who blows ..... smoke rings, 😯
okay so gigantamax pokemon are found in dens (burrows), wear smoke rings, change shape using mushrooms and if you fail a challenge you get tornado'd out and 'wake up' outside it.
Now if only we had a racing white rabbit...

I love how Voltsys gameplay is all over this, lovely to see CZcamsrs I love working together
BRUH YOU ARE SO LUCKY TO GET A FEMALE SHINY CINDERACE THOUGH! They’re only one in eight chance and that yours managed to be shiny as well...share some of your luck with me 😂😂
i got one too, but am currently trying for another one as I want it to have libero. Gender doesn't matter to me
ShadowWolf Bruh same except with Minccino. I wanted mine to have Skill Link but it ended up with Technician 😢
I'm crying, i never noticed that Austin Powers reference hahaha XD
5:33 Even if you talk to a student girl at the dojo she will says "Did you know that Master Mustard were the champion of galar in the old times?"
LMAO at the shaggy memes. Thats such a popular thing in anime i feel like, to "hide your true power". Good stuff dude, very inspiring for all content creators!😀
the one about leon and charmander, squritle, and bulbasaur is great
4:00 83 master balls??????
Yeah i seen that 2
Roadhouse
I think you've misunderstood Coaching - it does not raise the *user's* stats. The Pokemon that uses the move targets an ally in a Raid battle or double battle, and raises *their* stats. At least, that's what the descriptions seems to suggest to me - I haven't used it myself yet.
I caught that austin powers hint 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
One Easter Egg that was over looked is in the bottom area of the Dojo Kitchen were a kid asks if you want to Enable/Disable the Pokemon Follow feature.
This kid is dressed in a Pikachu onesie and has an actual Pikachu by his side, a nod to the very first Pokemon to follow you in the games in Pokemon Yellow!
Hyde is also a town in the northwest of England. And the name of one of London's eight royal parks.
Easter egg: You cant really catch any NEW POKEMON unless you count slowbro
Well, the whole point of this first expansion was more meant to focus on the story and Kubfu, the Crown Tundra is where they're really focusing on the catching aspect. That was pretty well stated when they first revealed the DLC...
Also, I don't think you can catch Galarian Slowbro, and Galarian Slowpoke could already be caught, even if that was limited to one. So if you're talking about new catches, its just the ones they brought back (which, btw, weren't always able to be caught in previous games anyway, so don't even try making that stupid argument). But new Pokemon in general are only... 3 or 4 depending on if you include Galarian Slowpoke despite being available earlier as a teaser. But again, they said before that this DLC wasn't meant to expand the new Pokemon, that's the Crown Tundra's job later on
@@Kahadi when I said slowbro it meant both of them because Kubfu is given to you so is the gmax kanto starter and some people count reiginal variants as old pokemon and some say they're new
(I was just saying he's wrong about being able to catch new pokemon) that's it nothing else
I enjoyed the dlc
Mustard is Looker...
The story fits.
Or James Bond of Pokemon?
i can't believe that SHAGGY ROGERS is in a pokemon game... at least in spirit, and I'm the one who edited this!
Thought the same thing when I read into three vespiqueen
If you stand in front of the tv while mustard is player for a bit he’ll ask you politely to move.
In Bea’s rare league card it is said that she smiled with someone unknown. However in Mustard’s rare league it says he was a fighting type gym leader hinting he was Bea’s dojo master
the dislikes are from people without the dlc
6:18 sounds to me that the user is a pokemon that coaches another pokemon in a double battle
you can also find Bede in a beach area on the western side of the island
I found one in porygon 2’s Pokédex entry talking about how two of them actually formed their own language referencing an event irl where the some thing took place
I also figured it out that Leon likely chose Charmander before you even got to the island I’m glad someone else finally figured that out.
Really cool video!!!
I think that the crown tundra will be south of Postwick beneath the map we currently see.
What do you think?
It will likely be to the north of the map but south would make geographical sense because Galar=uk
@@nicolebee3283 Except that Galar isn't as much of a flipped UK as people say, the only inversion being Wyndon being more in the north than London. There's a couple videos on that misconception, the first coming to mind being by Bird Keeper Toby, whom lives in the UK. Unless Galar is really far south on the Pokemon Earth, then it only makes sense for the Crown Tundra to be northern, considering the wintery area we already have is fairly northern, not to mention the Crown part could imply it being the most northern point on Galar, on top of everything like a crown
It seems like Coaching is kinda like Helping Hand. It only works in double battles and is used by the Pokémon on its ally. In the attack animation, you see a whistle appear in front of the Pokémon that uses the move.
Coaching is only used in double battles, and it boosts the other pokemon's stats. The trainer does not use Coaching on its pokemon, the pokemon uses it on its ally Pokemon.
So bea replaced mustard
I like your content on CZcams
It might be possible that Bea is Mustard and Honey's daughter considering Bea has also white hair like Mustard and grey eyes like Honey. And being Hyde's sister their names combined together sounds like "Bee Hive" just like "Honey Mustard".
the Austin Powers one was so funny to pick up on during my playthrough. Big Mike Myers fan
Coaching is supposed to be used in double battles or raids. It increases attack and defense of all other ally pokemon except the user’s. The animation for it clearly shows the pokemon using the attack and not the trainer
Great vid
Love from New Zealand my fellow poke champs!
6:15 when it says "the user" it means the Pokémon that knows the move and that Pokémon buffs it's allies so it would buff it's partner and itself in tag team battles and it would buff all allies in a max raid battle
Techniqually in the Let’s Go games the special techniques that are literally direct copies of the HMs they replaced are moves that Humans can learn. The fact your partner Pokemon learns them instead of you is odd. So the idea of Humans learning moves isn’t out of the question.
There’s something about the lore building in this Gen that has me coming back to the same sequel idea. I just having this nagging feeling that the detail GF is giving us is setting up the sequel to be a prequel of Sword and Shield. Maybe it’s wishful thinking but every now I then I learn something new and it puts me right back in that mindset
Hey, I’m curious if you know anything about Opal’s unused “Young” art. There’s concept art for Opal when she was a new Gym Leader, but it’s never referenced or used in game... there’s also concept art for Milo’s brother and Melony’s other children, none of which are mentioned in game or anywhere else.
I have a feeling Hyde was born before Honey ever met Mustard if you know what I mean....
Another thing that it says on mustard’s league card is that he defeated the fairy-type gym leader to become champion, so that would have to mean that opal was champions at one point.
Or her Mum as she inherited the gym, but it could be referring to the tournament to decide the first champion which is why he's no. 0
I liked, subscribed, and turned on all notifications!
6:21 I'm pretty sure that "user" refers to the Pokémon user, because this move only works in double battles and only affects to the ally. The user won't receive any benefit of this move. So, the user must be the Pokémon already using the move, and not the trainer.
Good video. Is some of the shown content from Herovoltsy?
I thought that I was the only one who knew about that, also there's a green blue and red bed in mustards room which is for squirtle, bulbasaur and Leon's charmander. 2:30
The age gap between Honey and Mustard doe. Aha
Bro, Shaggy memes were forever ago
Also the charmander missing is(in my opinion) definitely the now charizard leon has. An added thing is how Leon's charizard can gigantamax like the blastoise or venasaur you get also the dojo is where you make max soup for the gigantamaxing.
Mustards card also said he defended a rival to become champion over 50 years ago, I'm wondering if it was Opal since she has been around for that long if not longer (I think hers said 60 years of being the gym leader) and who better to have as a rival than a fairy user against your fighting (and win).
Kangaskhan's entry might also be a reference to Ash's Pikachu's evolution in the anime first episode of Journeys, since it was similarly shown that Pichu was likely lost. Spoilers, I guess, but it's on his bulbapedia page. (Also I wonder why the anime doesn't use levels which is kind of ridiculous at some points and also not using genders for the pokemon?)
I mean, they kinda use genders. Sometimes you can hear the characters calling Pokémon “he” or “she” or something like that (like I’m pretty sure Kukui called Ash’s Rowlet “he” in one of the episodes of SM).
-but they are really weird with pokémon with type advantages losing, or final evolutions losing to their pre-evolutions and stuff like that-
They referenced levels in the very first season. Some school bullies were picking on a kid because he didn't know the levels that Pidgey evolves at, then he reveals to Ash that he does know but he doesn't like the kids or something like that
Lol nice on the Austin Powers ref. Plus it's only fair as in the 3rd(?) movie. You can find a couple of people dressed up as Pokemon in a chase scene..
Also happy Minecraft Update
That is not what coaching does. User in those blurbs refers to the pokemon using the move. Coaching is a teammate stat boosting move.
Coaching affects ally Pokemon in Double Battles. That is why it says "Ally Pokemon"
The Kangaskhan in the anime had a child of it's own as well as the lost child
I don’t think Vespiqueens cry is Behave. It’s Bee Hive
Hello I’m Louie
Coaching: user raises att/def of ally pokemon
I don't think you where looking at the Coach move right, I see it saying that it's more like Helping Hand where YOUR Pokemon coaches another one to raise it's attack power.
5:08 Anyone else got the feeling he just typed that up and used the closest thing to it
Uhh I'm pretty sure the 3% of their power is a reference to chunibyo culture and not shaggy LMFAO Shaggy is just a reference to the aforementioned culture
I recognized the Shaggy reference as soon as I saw it and I thought it was hilarious
Looking at Honey's shirt, she was probably a 'Beauty' class trainer. That class wears those same kind of cutout shirts.
She was the CEO of a large trading company actually and only became a pokemon trainer after meeting Mustard according to her league cards.
@@smward87 and? How does that mean she wasn't a Beauty class trainer when she started?
Can this guy plz talk about zerude
Lol, i noticed the kangaskhan easter egg when i caught one! Lol
3:41 ohhhh... you mean the one with that certain deleted scene ;-;
6:44 - User may still refer to the Pokemon
The Shagy meme reference is actually a Dragon Ball reference
Was the photo in mustards living room a picture of him and his deceased pokemon? If so it was an eevee which im not sure they mention in the dlc.
The detail about the former chairman wanting to rig a match for Mustard is extremely similar to the popular fan theory early on that Rose was fixing Leon's matches hence why he was "undefeated". Perhaps that detail was a nod to this theory?
