      If you don't have one already, you should try a humidifier or vapourizer. The extra humidity made a huge difference for my skin (and hair) during our really dry and cold winter.

      I have one of the hada labo lotions I found on amazon. It’s the hyralaunic (I don’t think that’s the correct spelling haha) acid. The consistency is more of a thicker essence/toner and it works really well and was about $10

      Susan, is it possible to have acne from dry skin? I have combination skin and when i went to the derma she prescribed a strong moisturizer for my acne which i found strange. True enough, when i use a heavy moisturizer on my acne it does clear up though not totally. How does this happen? Also, i live in a tropical country so heavy moisturizers can be too much esp when i start to oil up 😩

    Love how the reasons you give at the beginning, such as companies using the two terms 'interchangeably' being the reason people get confused.
    You overlooked the basic one, which is that the two definitions are extremely close. For instance, by hydrating you skin, you are in fact moistening it. I believe that is the reason any intelligible person might get confused when these two words are slapped on a box and marketed as separate products.

    I melt my shea butter with coconut oil in a pot and then while it's lose and watery I mix it with some vanilla extract and tea tree oil and then let it cool off. • @SusanYara
      @SusanYara Před 4 lety +6

      Safia Muftic It’s a great question and I touched on it a little in the video. If you speak to dermatologists, some will say they don’t like it because it can break down your skin barrier over time. If you speak to formulators, they’ll say there’s usually a good reason for it in the product (stabilize ingredients, it works as a solvent, the products evaporates faster, etc), so it’s tough to say if you should avoid it or not. I think if you have sensitive skin, then avoiding ingredients you know will irritate you is important. Otherwise, as long as there are hydrating ingredients in the product, they’ll counteract any negative effects of drying alcohol.

I've been using a hydrating cream with hyaluronic acid during the day and a moisturizer with ceramides at night. Should I be doing something different? I live in Canada and the weather is very dry and cold as well. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

    I have a question!
    What do you think about the Good Molecules company? They’ve got a lot of serums I’ve been looking into because I’ve been soooo into your videos and looking into perfecting my skin care routine. They also have a toner and cleansing balm I’ve been thinking about too.
    Hope you see this! Thank you 😊

    I love Klairs Supple Toner for hydration and other benefits. Is this Klairs toner a Hydrating product or just PH balancing and moisturizing? Same question about another product you have talked about. The Vit C Juice Drops by Klairs. It seems very hydrating and says it works well with Vit C but other videos talk about Vit C and niacinamide not being used together, but I have not had any irritation using it after Vit C serum. I love the way it looks and feels on my face.

    Hi Susan I just found your channel and I love it! I have no skincare routine. I will only use vegan products. I don't know where to start 🤔 The products I've tried to moisturize always make my face itch. Is there any type of list like first moisturize second etc. I'm so overwhelmed 😞

    So if someone with oily skin was to use the Belif Aqua Bomb (or any other really hydrating moisturiser) would you still recommend using something like hyaluronic acid on it’s own too? Or would that be too much?

    You say hydrators make skin plumb, bouncy, glow, and reflect light while moisturizers prevent TEWL and lock in water. You define hydration as "water content in skin cells," but what is the "book definition" of moisturization? Thanks!

    I’d love to hear your thoughts one medical grade skincare vs Sephora/department store or even drugstore products. I constantly hear both sides of the topic: that medical grade is better or that over the counter works just as fine. It would definitely save me money lol ☺️

      Medical grade skincare is better than most sephora skincare products but there are good brands in sephora like murad some of peter Thomas roth products alot of drugstore products work well also please watch Dr.Ray who is an actual dermatologist.
