The first vocal, Babna Karim, was a mechanical Engineering graduate from BUET. He became a lecturer and at the same time wrote a number of legendary songs in 90's for warfaze. After that he moved abroad and became a professional engineer well established in his field. This song was written by him when he toured to coxsbazar with his friends in his versity days.

আমি প্রথম তিতুমীর কলেজে ওপেন এয়ার কনসার্টে ওয়ারফেযকে পারফর্ম করতে দেখি; সম্ভবত ১৯৯৪ সালে। পুলিশের লাঠিপেটার খেয়েছিলাম....There was a huge crowd and all went crazy seeing them perform. Hats off to these legends.

ভাইকে চেনা চেনা মনে হয়।
তখন আমরা ক্যাসেটের যুগে। এই গানটা আমার এতো পছন্দের ছিলো যে বারবার রিউইন্ড-ফরোয়ার্ড করার ঝামেলা থেকে মুক্তি পেতে এক ক্যাসেটের দুই পৃষ্ঠাজুড়ে গানটা রেকর্ড করেছিলাম। তখন ডায়ার স্ট্রেইটস্, পিংক ফ্লয়েড শুনে বড় হতে থাকা আমার কাছে “অবাক ভালোবাসা”র কম্পোজিশন যে কোনো বাঙালি মিউজিশিয়ানের দ্বারা সম্ভব এই বিষয়টাই অবিশ্বাস্য ছিলো। আমার মনে আছে, শুধু এই গানটা ভালোভাবে শোনার জন্য বন্ধু এর বাসায় যেতাম একঘন্টা কালুরঘাটের মুড়ির টিন বাসে চড়ে কারণ ওর বাসায় অত্যাধুনিক অ্যাম্পলিফায়ার আর বড় বড় স্পিকার ছিলো যাতে প্রত্যেকটা ইন্সট্রুমেন্ট খুব সূক্ষ্মভাবে বোঝা যেতো। অনেক অনেক ভালোবাসা “অবাক ভালোবাসা”, বাবনা করিম আর ওয়ারফেইজ এর জন্য।
ধন্যবাদ এতো সুন্দর একটি মুহূর্ত আমাদের সাথে শেয়ার করার জন্য। আপনাদের জন্য আমরা নতুন কিছু করার উৎসাহ পাই।

আমি warfaze এর তেমন fan না , মানে তেমন গান শোনা হয়নি । তবে , এই গানটা শুনে সত্যি বলছি আমাকে পাগল করে দেয় 3:02 থেকে 4:19 পার্ট টা অবধি আমাকে একটা আলাদাই universe এ নিয়ে যায় । মনে হচ্ছে যেন গানটা 10 minute এর হলে আপনারা আরও কত রকম আশ্চর্য scale এর note হতে পারে সেটা দেখিয়ে দিতেন , আস্থা আছে । এই রকম গানের experctation আপনাদের কাছ থেকে করেই আমি আজকের থেকে আপনাদের ফ্যান বলা ভুল আজকে na এক সপ্তাহ আগের থেকে spotify তে শুনেছি । আজকে ভিডিও দেখলাম । Love form Kolkata 💕🔥

I never write comments on CZcams. But after listening to this song I couldn't resist myself to write my feeling. Warfaze is my favorite Bangladeshi band. I still remember falling in love with Sunjoy when I first heard 'Ekti Chele'. Coke Studio Bangla's tribute to Warfaze's 40-year celebration awestruck me. Babna is always Babna. Nobody can sing this song better than him. He is unmatchable. This song made me cry so many times over the years. While listening to this version I didn't even realize when tears were falling down from my eyes automatically. Trust me I am still crying while writing this comment. Honestly, I wouldn't say I liked Palash's part. Not everyone can be the vocalist of Warfaze. Happy 40th Birthday to Warfaze! We are the same age. My love for Warfaze will never fade. I carry them in my heart. Also, I can't thank enough Coke Studio Bangla. No single day at my home is when we don't listen to your songs. Warfaze and You made Bangladeshis proud all over the world.

আমি অজ্ঞাত এক হাঁটুর ব্যথার রোগে আক্রান্ত হয়েছিলাম।তখন সপ্তম শ্রেণীতে পড়ি বয়স ১১।সারাদিন বিছানায় শুয়ে থাকতে হতো কারণ দাঁড়াতে পারতাম না।মজার ব্যাপার হলো ১মাস বিছানায় শুয়ে শুধু এই গানটাই শুনতাম। তখন আবার অত শত কিছু ছিলনা সময় কাটানোর। কেনো শুনতাম কি কারণে শুনতাম হয়তো আমার মত অনেক মানুষ বুঝবে।গানটার সাথে অদ্ভুত এক অনুভূতির সম্পর্ক।অবাক ভালোবাসা থেকে শুরু করে পথচলা,সত্য এলব্যাম কেনা এবং ডিস্ক ডিভিডি তে ঢুকিয়ে সব গান শুনে শুনে চেক করা,সেই দিন গুলো আমার এখনো মনে পড়ে।
ভালবাসি ওয়ারফেইজ তখন থেকে যখন আমার লিরিক্স বোঝার-ই বয়স ও হয়নি।❤

আমরা যারা ৯০ দশকে জন্মেছি, তারা জানি এই গানটি কতটা জনপ্রিয় ছিলো সে সময়। আজো এর আকুলতা কমেনি এতটুকু। ধন্যবাদ Coke Studio Bangla ❤!
চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এলাকায় থাকাকালীন স্কুল জীবনের শেষের দিকে ওয়ারফেজের গান প্রথম শুনি। তখনকার যুগে আমার হাতে প্রথম স্মার্ট ফোন আসে। স্মার্ট ফোন মানে তখন NOKIA'র পড়ন্ত বেলা আর Samsung এর উত্থান। শুরুটা হয় "যতদূরেই থাকো, রবে আমারই" দিয়ে। বন্ধুরা ক্লাসেও গাইতাম। তারপর 'বসে আছি', 'পূর্ণতা', 'তোমাকে' এভাবে শুনতে শুনতে কলেজে উঠার সময় আসতে আসতে এই একটা গান (অবাক ভালোবাসা) হৃদয়ে গেঁথে গেছে। এখনও এই গানটাই বেশি শুনা হয়। কারণ হিসেবে বলা যায়, Pink Floyd এর কম্পোজিশন গুলোর সাথে আমি কিভাবে যেন এই গানটার একটা চমৎকার মিল খুঁজে পাই। সফট রক, মেলোডিয়াস, প্রগ্রেসিভ টাইপ।
যাই হোক, এই গানের সবচেয়ে পছন্দের অংশটা ছিল flute এর ইন্ট্রো এবং piano এর সলো অংশটা। এই দুইটা অংশ ট্রিম করে আমার ফোনে রাখা ছিল। দুঃখের বিষয়, কয়েকদিন আগে জানতে পারলাম Piano এর অংশটা Richard Clayderman একটা ফ্রেঞ্চ গান Promenade Dans Les Bois থেকে কপি করা। হোক কপি, এই গানের আবেদন তবুও এতটুকু কমবে না!
স্কুল, কলেজে অনেক রাত জাগার অভ্যাস ছিল। চোখ বন্ধ করে কানে হেডফোন লাগিয়ে হাজারবার এই গান শোনা হয়েছে। ইচ্ছে হতো, সমুদ্রের পাশে নির্জনে এই গান উপভোগ করার। No offence to anyone, তবে Coke studio'র এবারের পরিবেশনা আমার কাছে ৫০% ভালো লাগেনি (ব্যক্তিগত অভিমত)। আমি নিশ্চিত যে ৫০% ভালো লেগেছে সেটার কারণ দুইটা।
এক, নস্টালজিয়া;
দুই, অন্য গানের সাথে মিশ্রণ না করা।
অরিজিনাল গানটা ১৯৯৪ এর, এলবামের টাইটেল ট্র্যাক। পরে আবারো remastered করা হয় ২০০৯ এ, পথচলা এলবামে। দ্বিতীয়টাই আমি প্রথম শুনি। তবে ১৯৯৪ এর অরিজিনালের স্বাদটা একদম অতুলনীয়, Raw এবং অসম্ভব আবেদনের। তবে coke studio বাংলাকে ধন্যবাদ, অন্তত তাদের বদৌলতে পুরানো গান দুটো আবার শোনা হলো। আসলেই আমাদের সবারই নিজেদের অস্তিত্বের জন্য সৃষ্টিকর্তাকে ধন্যবাদ দেয়া উচিত।

I just wanted to share my thoughts here. The first time I heard this song was on a CD.
Over the years, it has stayed with me through mp3 players, computers, phones, and more. It's one of those rare tracks that has remained in my playlist to this day.
Now, thanks to Arnob Bhai and the Coke Studio team, this magical collaboration with these legends has been created. There's no doubt that this version will endure forever.
I wanted to be a part of this moment in history because this is the only place I can leave a note or a comment. Years from now, I'll still be listening to this song, smiling as I reminisce about the first time I heard it and how Warfaze was introduced to me. It's been 19 years, and there's still a long journey ahead with this masterpiece.

অবাক ভালবাসা নিয়ে দর্শক-শ্রোতাদের এত প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখে আমি মোটেও অবাক হইনি। যাদের মাথায় ৯০ দশকের সেই বাঁশির ইন্ট্রোটা গেথে আছে সেটা থেকে তাদের এক চুলও নাড়ানো সম্ভব না। ওটাই তার শৈশব ওটাই তার কৈশর। যদিও আমার কাছে কোক স্টুডিওর ভার্শনটা অনেক ম্যচিউরড মনে হয়েছে। পুরো গানেই অপেরার মতো করে কোরাস রেখেছে। সারপ্রাইজ প্যাকেজ হিসেবে আছেন খোদ বাবনা করিম। অনেকেই তার পাশে পলাশ নূরকে মেনে নিতে পারছেন না। কিন্ত আমার কাছে মনে হয়েছে এই কন্ট্রাস্টটার দরকার ছিল (আমার ধারণা মিজানভাইএর ডাইহার্ড ফ্যানরা তাকে একদম মেনে নিতে পারছে না )। জালালের বাঁশি যথারীতি অতুলনীয়। ড্রামার টিপুভাই আর গিটারিস্ট কমল ভাইর উপস্থিতি বাড়তি ভ্যালু এড করেছে। পরবর্তী প্রজন্ম কিন্ত এই গানটিকেই বেঞ্চমার্ক ধরে এগুবে।

পলাশ নূর যথেষ্ট ভালো গেয়েছেন। পলাশ ব্যান্ডের এগজিস্টিং মেম্বার৷ ওয়ারফেইজ এখনও অস্তিত্বমান৷ অস্তিত্বমান একটা ব্যান্ড তার এগজিস্টিং মেম্বারদের স্পেস দিবে এটাই স্বাভাবিক। এটাই হওয়া উচিত। আমার কোক স্টুডিও এর প্রেজেন্টেশন ডিসেন্ট মনে হয়েছে। তবে এটুকুই আক্ষেপ যে শেষের গিটার সলোটা যদি আরেকটু দীর্ঘ হতো।

আমার এখনও দিব্বি মনে আছে। যখন আমি ক্লাস সেভেনে পড়ি তখন থেকেই আস্তে আস্তে আমি বাংলা ব্যান্ড মিউজকের সাথে পরিচিত হই। শুরুটা হয়েছিলো ওয়ারফেজ এর গানগুলো দিয়ে। ওয়ারফেজ তাদের অধিকাংশ ফ্যানবেজ তৈরি করেছিলো সত্য এলবামের "পূর্নতা, রূপকথা, না" এই গানগুলো দিয়ে। অথচ পথচলা, অসামাজিক, জীবনধারার মতো কিছু কালজয়ী এলবামগুলোকে কয়জনই বা চেনে? অধিকাংশ ব্যান্ড ভক্তদের কাছে ওয়ারফেজ সেরা হয়েছে বিশেষ করে রূপকথা, পূর্নতা এবং তোমাকে - এর কারনে। অথচ আমরা ভুলেই গেছি আরও ৩০ বছর আগে ওয়ারফেজ তাঁর খুঁটি শক্ত করেছিলো অবাক ভালোবাসা এলবাম দিয়ে। আর এই এলবামের অবাক ভালোবাসা গানটি বর্তমানে মোস্ট আন্ডাররেটেড হয়ে পড়ে আছে।
এই গানটা জীবনে যতোবারই শুনতাম, ততবারই ভাবতাম যদি পুনরায় এই গানটাকে কেউ ট্রিবিউট করতো যেমনটা কোক স্টুডিও, ওয়াইন্ড অব চেইঞ্জ করে। ভেবেছিলাম এই ইচ্ছেটা কখনও পূরন হবেনা। নতুন করে কেউ আর গাইবেনা এই কালজয়ী গান। গতকাল রাতে ইউটিউবে ঢুকতেই খুব বড়সড় একটা চমক খেয়ে গেলাম। ওয়ারফেজ এর ৪০ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে কোক স্টুডিও অবাক ভালোবাসাকে পুনরায় তৈরি করেছে। কি অবাক করা কান্ড! একটা মানুষ ৩০ বছর আগে যেভাবে গেয়েছিলো, ঠিক একইভাবে গাইছে। ভাবনা স্যারের ভোকাল, কি সুন্দর কম্পোজিশন সব মিলিয়ে কাল্ট ক্ল্যাসিক।
যাইহোক, এরপর ভাবলাম কমেন্ট সেকশনে একটু চোখ বুলিয়ে আসি। আর সেখানে গিয়ে কমেন্ট পড়ার পর আমি ভীষণ জেলাস। বর্তমানে যাদের বয়স (৪০,৫০,৬০)। তাদের ছাত্রজীবনের কিছু চমৎকার স্মৃতি জড়িয়ে আছে এই অবাক ভালোবাসার সাথে। কি সুন্দর জেনারেশনে গা ভাসিয়েছিলেন আমাদেরই বাপ, ভাই, চাচারা। গানটি মুক্তি পেয়েছিলো আমার জন্মের আরও ৬ বছর আগে। যুগের পর যুগ অতিবাহিত হবে! অথচ অবাক ভালোবাসার মতো কিছু ব্যান্ডের গানের সাথে জড়িয়ে থাকবে আগের জেনারেশন, আমাদের জেনারেশন এবং আমাদের ভবিষ্যৎ। আহা রুচি, বেঁচে থাকুক ওয়ারফেজ! বেঁচে থাকুক আমার প্রথম প্রেম "অবাক ভালোবাসা" ❤

গানটার ফ্যানবেইজ দেখে অবাক হলাম,আমি শুনেছি প্রথম ২০১৮তে তখন ছিলাম ১৮ আর এখন ২৪ ,কিন্তু কোক স্টুডিওর বদৌলতে গানটির এক জেনারেশন থেকে আরেক জেনারেশনে ট্রান্সমিট হওয়াটা বেশ ভালোই লাগলো,৯০-০০-১০-২০ আর এখন ২৪ এভাবেই হয়তো নতুন কোন টিউনে, নতুন কম্পোজিশনে,নতুন আঙ্গিকে গানটি জেনারেশন থেকে জেনারেশন ছাপিয়ে যাবে❤

Warfaze has the best discography in Bangladeshi Rock music in my opinion. Obak Bhalobasha is one of their very best also one of my most favorite songs ever. I just want to thank Coke Studio Bangla for taking me back to my teenage years, i used to love this song when i was in school.

It's really nice to see Sir Bhabna Karim after all these years. Hearing his magical voice took me back when I was a school kid band freak in 90's. The true legendary vocalist of Warfaze's milestone.
সৈসব থেকে বেড়ে উঠেছি warfaze এর প্রতি বুক ভড়া অবাক এক বিস্ময় আর দুর্নিবার এক অবাক ভালবাসা নিয়ে। এক একটা এ্যালবাম এক একটা গান মুখস্থ হয়ে গেছে শুনতে শুনতে। সৈসব থেকে আজ ৪৫ বছর বয়স পর্যন্ত সব ভাষার মিলে যত গানই শুনেছি না কেনো, আমার কাছে পৃথিবীর সবচে শ্রেষ্ঠ কম্পোজিশান মনে হয় Warfaze এর অবাক ভালবাসাকে। এর অরিজিনাল ট্র্যাকটা লাখো-কোটি বার শুনলেও মনে হবে যেনো শুনতেই থাকি! এতো চমৎকার একটা গানকেও একবার দেখেছিলাম নোবেল নামে এক তথাকথিত শিল্পী উপুর্যপুরি ধর্ষন করেছিলো! খুব রাগ হয়েছিলো! আজ এই ভিডিওটা দেখ মনে হল যেনো সেই ধর্ষিতার আজ মরণ হলো, আর তার পরিবার, আত্মীয় স্বজন মিলে দাফন করছে!

In 2024, kids still listen to this 30 years old lady "Obak Bhalobasa". A chain bond for 2 or 3 generations. I won't talk about the quality of the composition. This is pure emotion for us, a 90's kid, became kid again, for seven long minutes.
