I BEG viewers to read the articles and background stories. Minhwan is being given A LOT of grace while Yulhee is shouldering a lot of criticism. She gave up her career to be a wife and mother, he didn't have to give that up AND he still has the show to appear on. Yulhee is getting slandered and financially, it makes sense courts would have him keep custody but the situation has been greatly unfair to her.

True but that isn’t his fault either they both decided to keep the baby and get married and yes she stop being an idol but she could have still done other things if she wanted to. Minhwan obviously still had to work or who would be bringing in money? He is in a band so their schedule is a lot more loose than a traditional idol group like she was in. It might feel like she got the short end of the stick but she made a lot of these decisions herself.

Plus a lot of korea is still misogynistic and it would look bad if she went to work instead of being a housewife. To be honest I think Yulhee was also smart in not forcing to have custody of the kids. It may seem selfish on her part to many, but its the most practical choice considering she is very young and doesn't have a stable career like her husband. In this case, the kids would be better of financially with Minhwan than with her. Also, Minhwan lives really close to his family unlike her. He has everyone to help him with the kids when absolutely necessary. But Yulhee won't have that since she lives away from her family and is probably very busy building her career again from scratch.

Seriously poor Yulhee. The fact that in Korea the custody of children usually goes to the parent that makes the most money is seriously messed up. In most Korean households the fathers barely interact with the children. It's not the divorce that is going to mess your kids up, it is the fact that a mother who stopped working to take care of your children all of a sudden now has no children and no career to go back to. Your children can see your ex-wife? Great! That's how it should be. I wonder if his parents are going to watch the kids when he's busy or if they are going to "let" Yulhee watch them. As for children above 6, the mom can also get the custody even if she is financially less the father bcs the childcare will be pay by the father. But it also depends on the couple’s decision who will take custody. Like in Minhwan and Yulhee’s decision, they chose Minhwan so that the children won’t feel the change so much as they can keep the environment where they grow up with

Same! What makes it worse for me is that there's no divorce in my country. My dad was so toxic and wouldn't leave my mom. My mom just don't love him anymore after all the cheating and distress he caused. I used to hate him because as we grew up, he became less and less of a father to us. He would seldomly talk to us and when he do, it's nothing good. But I still care about him, now he's in his 50s and is kinda sick which makes me really sad these days. I just hope he gets better and changes for the better.
The situation taught me to be realistic that if the same happens to me, no matter how much I want my future family to be together forever, I would leave and choose what's better for me and the kids. And also, that I would never let my kids involved if me and their dad would ever have a fight. I can just hope that I find a good man and also be a good one myself. Every time a couple splits, it seems like the wife gets all the blame. It's frustrating, and it's one reason I dislike the internet. Even though the show makes Yulhee out to be the one in the wrong, I don't think it's entirely her fault. Yulhee and Minhwan have different approaches to parenting, which is natural considering their personalities. Yulhee often makes decisions for their kids, but Minhwan disagrees. Instead of discussing it privately, he brings it up in front of her in-laws, which leads to his mother getting involved (his parents live beside them). Adding to that, Minhwan's sister and her husband also live beside them. Also, there's unfairness in how society treats them.
Minhwan can continue his career as an idol even after becoming a father, but Yulhee can't easily return to being an idol because she's already a mother. She needs a stable income, especially with three kids to support. While he served in the military for two years, she managed the newborn twins mostly on her own, with little help from family. She put her idol career on hold and stayed home while he pursued personal and professional growth.
Moving to a new city with young children is tough, especially for their emotional development. The kids are attached to their routine and surroundings, and separating them isn't a good option. It's clear the kids miss their mother, especially the eldest, and Yulhee can't provide full care for them alone.

Even the guy himself is shady. He's claiming that he keeps telling the kids good things about their mother but but his mannerism is just screaming otherwise. Minhwan is so heartwarming and so brave as he chose to respect and value the peace for the family especially for the mother of his children. From external perspective, it is such a sight to see how both parents stood strong independently yet strive to work things out for their children.
