This is a pleasant find. The parts that are the serial action drama are taken somewhat seriously so the campiness and the unintentional humor work while the parts parodying serial action dramas are dumb as hell, but still work because they know they are terrible. It's rare you see a serial action drama done straight these days. Too bad this wasn't successful.
This was so much fun when I saw the whole episode and recorded it on a betamax tape-since lost. Captain Zoom was later chained up by Lord Voxx and says: "Well this just gets better and better." Now that's entertainment! Also Captain Zoom asks Liz Vassey: "Are you Catholic too?" Priceless!
A few years ago I contacted MCA/Universal (on behaf [sp?] of a SF Convention I use to work for) and asked them to release this on DVD. They sent me a reply stating that they don't do Television shows. So I guess Xena and Hercules that I see on store shelves doesn't exist. If we all ask them for this to be released maybe they will. I mean they did release those awful ones they did on Scifi (now syfy) channel and this one is good!
I loved this pilot, I was terribly disappointed it wasn't a series!
Holy crap, I did not expect to see Ron Perlman in this, and I absolutely love how he's chewing the scenery!
Al fin la encontré 😁 El verdadero Capitán Zoom 👏🏽
Before Galaxy Quest, there was Captain Zoom! I remember watching this in the 1990s: really surprised that it didn't become an actual TV show.
Gracias por su amabilidad, señor! Pensé que esto se perdió para siempre.

Thank you kindly, Sir! I thought this was lost forever.
Attempt to launch a syndicated show back in the days of Hercules/Xena shows.
Liz Vassey. I thought her name sounded familiar. Captain Liberty! Two Captains for the price of one.
Happy Birthday Ron Perlman 🎉🎉❤❤
Behind the scenes Captain Zoom sings Happy Birthday to Ron Perlman.
