I just want to say I purchased a Nectar a few weeks ago. When I opened it I sliced the fine white cover over the cooling gel. I contacted Nectar and they were awesome! They not only still covered me with the warranty but they sent me a new cover free of charge. With that being said I love my Nectar. Best sleep I’ve had in along time and I don’t wake up with a sore back.

*I finally found the perfect mattress for my poor old bones. My frame is small and I weigh 98 pounds.I needed something firm **MyseIf.Furniture** Yet, soft enough to allow my body to mold into comfort.I highly recommend the Zinus. I woke up with little or no back pain. It’s only been a month. So far so good.👍*

Thats crazy. I weight 145lbs my wife 100lbs. We found it to be incredibly firm. Really really firm. Hoping it breaks in but it's at our cabin as well and tough to break in when we only sleep on it a night or two a week at best.

I just got a new nectar and have an old one to compare. They totally changed the filling of the pillows to mixed type of shredded foam which is denser and lighter and less memory type of foam and more shreds of what seems like poly foam and regular foam, the older one is pure shredded gel memory foam and very full, heavier and plush. I prefer the older one...I hope they didn’t change the mattress this way cus it does feel lighter than my old one.

I ORDERED the original matress, 2 twin xl. but didnt have delivered yet, problems at home. so, i went back to step up deliver, and saw store had the Lush. And it is MUCH SOFTER. And not near the EDGE SUPPORT. I switched reg. to the Lush for me, since it is cooler. My wife likes warmer and edge support, so she is getting the first version. I will try the LUSH and see how I like it, if it doesnt work, ill return for regular one

I've had my Nectar for almost 2 years and really need to get a new mattress. I don't think it's the mattress though I've just lost a large amount of weight and it is starting to give me back pain, but if you're a larger person this mattress is wonderful❤

Hi Ross. Currently, I have the Hyphen mattress, and you are one of the few reviewers who actually reviewed it. How would you compare it for side sleeping against the Nectar, original Purple, and the new Brooklyn Bedding Signature? For reference, I'm a 125 lb female. I'm a side AND stomach sleeper, and it's hard to find a bed to accommodate both sleeping positions. For the most part, the Hyphen is comfortable, but I've woken up many times with my arm asleep while sleeping on my side.

None were made to this. I should have elaborated. I was simply stating some brands have changed things, made them with less quality foams and still raised prices. The new one is the same as the old one but I wanted to feel them to see if they felt the same too and they did. Thanks!

I just purchased the Nectar from a local retailer that their site referred me to. I got the king mattress home last night and unboxed it. Kept waiting for the quilted memory foam in the cover to expand. Never happened.
The mattress that I got DOES NOT have the 1 inch of gel memory foam quilted into the cover. It is just a thin 4 way stretch cover that has no gel at all in it. This is a problem. I called Nectar and they had no idea what I was talking about and the retail team is supposed to contact me. I feel baited and switched a bit and will likely be returning the mattress.

Hi John, I heard that at the vegas show they were showing the nectar with a new smooth top. I am going to follow up with them to find out and get a new sample perhaps. I think the foam is still in there but they took it out of the cover to allow the cover to be washed.

    • @johnfreeman440
      @johnfreeman440 Před 5 lety

      @@realmattressreviews8696
Well, based on my initial impression of the mattress at the Sleep Sherpa online mattress gallery in Chicago, I am agreeing to have the Nectar area rep send me the original design with the quilted cover to try. I am not thrilled that they changed the design and didn't let customers know, but your thorough review and use of it in your cabin have motivated me to take a run at it.
My other concern is that this mattress is not quite 10 inches. I hope the one they send me is 11 inches, because that was one of the reasons that I chose this over Casper. I'm not a 180 pound guy, so I am nervous about owning a 10 inch mattress. I did feel the Tuft and Needle bottom out on the frame the other night when I put my weight on my backside, so I'm hoping for the extra inch. This base foam is denser, so even at 10 inches it feels more substantial than both the T&N and the Casper.
I'm on night 3 with this Nectar and it does still take some getting used to feeling the support of the base layer when I settle in. The firmness is a change for me. I know the foams will break in, I'm hoping sooner rather than later.
Thanks for all of your reviews - your experience and product knowledge are obvious and an asset to your subscribers.

@@realmattressreviews8696 I think my wife and I may forgo the Nectar at this point and maybe look at a hybrid solution.
I'm 6'2" and 285 pounds. I feel as if I am bottoming out on the dense core of the Nectar and this really makes it feel incredibly firm. My thinking is that a hybrid will give me the foam pressure relief and contouring support I like with the pinpoint weight distribution of pocketed coils. I'm looking at a few options...First, considering the Helix Nightfall. Looks like a well-built mattress that will hold up over time and still be comfortable to boot. I am a back, sometimes side sleeper and my wife is the same.
Second, I am considering the Winkbed (Luxury Firm). This looks like the kind of mattress that would be over $2000 in a mattress store and would be able to contour for side sleeping and still have the support for back sleeping. Seems like a step up in construction from the normal bed-in-a-box.
Third, I'm considering the Nest Alexander Signature Hybrid. This looks like another well-made mattress and I'm impressed by the amount of foam on top compared to the Helix choice. I think I may also like the eurotop finish on this better than the Winkbed choice - Simply because it looks more like a memory foam top, but obviously comfort and overall support would trump how something 'looks.'
I currently have a 4 year old Serta iSeries Trump model hybrid that is just causing me all kinds of back pain. No sag or body impressions, just I do sink in on the mattress and the upper comfort layers are not that comfortable - firm in a way that pushes into my mid/upper back and I wake up in pain. I was maybe wanting to get away from a hybrid design because of this, but I think mattress design has come a long way in 5 years and these new hybrids seem to function more like a foam mattress with a more forgiving and longer lasting pocketed coil unit as opposed to a slab of poly foam.
Am I on the right track, you think? Thanks.

I just received a queen mattress. I was expecting a 11 inch thick mattress.. The tag says 10 inches thick and the mattress is 10 inches thick.. Called customer service .. about 5 different people gave me completely different conflicting answers to why this happened. Two agents said they have two warehouse's and that one of them sends out 10 inch mattresses. After getting a long run around to as why this is some how "normal" and that I shouldn't be concerned" they agreed to exchange it.
So If your expecting a 11inch mattress make sure you specify that you don't want a 10 inch.

I would not ever spend any money on anything that comes in a 📦 period. Especially when my helath comes into play. You pay for what you get when it comes to mattresses. Its cool that they offer a lifetime warranty and a year trial but it seems they focused on that rather than their construction and versatility in choice as if everyone had the same needs and comfort level to achieve. These beds are good for college students just starting off and needing to be on a budget but even then they're better off investing and getting a better constructed and overall quality mattress.

Thanks for the comment Julio, most of the online mattresses are very bit as good as the store brands or better for the price. You certainly get what you pay for but coming from a store owner as well, I can tell you most brands I have reviewed are worth the money and good quality. There are around 200 online brands now, not all are a good value, but many of them are. Let me know if you have any questions.
