I was actually considering what the show would feel like if a new viewer watched THIS first! What was it like if you’ve seen S1 now? Was it still as effective and shocking?
29:18 I wish they kept her mournful lines "For one moment I had the power. I could have fixed it. ..I could have brought you back. But I used it for revenge instead. ..I'm sorry mom and dad. ..I love you." from the end of her comics, from that moment after her parents died. In her comics the last brother she fought also said "...They don't care about us now. ..Now they have you. ..Goodbye, Eve." right before he disintegrated. Maybe they could have kept that line too.

We really needed this. Atom Eve is my fav character in "Invincible". This episode was a great back story and explained a lot of how she got to the point where she is today. And now that we know it, it explains why being part of the team means a lot to her. I think she will play a major role in the upcoming second season. Can't wait for season 2.
I'm surprised it didn't show her revealing her powers to her parents or how she met Rex.

In Mickey's defence, Atomic Eve's powers involve manipulating atoms and molecules directly (PLUS particle physics and quantum mechanics). In science that would be considered Physical Chemistry which is the overlap between Physics and Chemistry. So he's not THAT wrong.

He got comfortable. It got to a point where he very clearly didn't want Mark to get his powers so he wouldn't have to carry out his orders.

as a comic reader I could say Samantha isn't only my favorite character she's also the real Invincible one ❤

She can do all of that - but she lacks the superhuman reflexes of a Viltrumite.
Having god mode doesn't matter if someone gets the drop on you because you are too slow to see the hit coming.
Basically what would have happened with the Guardians of the Globe if their Flash equivalent hadn't saved the first guy.

Even without the mental block, she's still a nerfed scarlet witch. Scarlet witch once wished that mutants disappeared and the majority of mutants around the world disappeared. Even can't change matter on that scale, which is honestly a great thing otherwise she'd be too overpowered.
At least the people of THIS universe take her mental state more seriously.
The creativity, action and drama in this episode PROVES how interesting and exciting a Green Lantern movie/show could be if done right!

I loved this maybe even more than any episode in the first season, it felt like it could have been a movie and made me appreciate the character way more. Cant wait for season 2!

Omni man always loved them, not as pets, he was lying to himself, which he realizes at the end of season 1, which isn’t surprising, considering Omni man says that he was just a kid when the culling of his people occurred, since he said “when I became an adult, I joined the others” so for him, mark is likely his first ever child, and no other instinct of duty for his people would ever overpower that.
Eve’s parents are a lot like the Dursley’s. Fearful of anything not “normal”

The moment of the fact that Dr. Brandyworth had placed a mental block limiter to her powers which prevents her from altering living tissue just shows exactly how OP she truly is. Comic readers know exactly cos y'all are not ready for what may come next. 🤯

Atom Eve is Green Lantern and Scarlett Witch combined in one. How is she not more famous? Do you think when she said " I dare you to remember me" she accidentally makes people forget about her if they are not constantly exposed to her? I mean even in the first season they confused her with DupliKate. She is almost godly with her powers!

I was confused about her not being able to manipulate living things since she was able to regrow a whole Forrest.
Its limited to living flesh. Thats why in the comics and show she can make food as well, since food is dead animals/flesh

I watched the special just yesterday and I loved it! I just felt so bad that everyone was mean to her, even her friend when she found out Eve had powers.

Honestly, Eve's adopted mom is ok. She's clearly loves Eve but doesn't really understand her. Her biggest flaw is that she's too afraid of the judgment of others and doesn't really stand up for Eve especially against her husband.
THANKS for this, Normies!!!! I finally sat down to watch the special and I really enjoyed it! I had forgotten how much I forgot--and how much I wince at :)--the "Invincible" universe!!! And as Rana said, a pink superhero is appropriate for "Barbie" Month!
I didn't like how Val, eve's friend from across the street was just suddenly rejected her when she saw her powers. It seems like a kid her age would be more excited seeing superpowers at least until she has some kind of reason to feel afraid.
Kid are people too. They don't all look at things with child-like wonder they get scared too. To her what Eve did was the equivalent of waving a gun around.

for omniman deep down in one corner of his mind he does love his family and care for human. but deep in the other corner is his loyalties to his ppl and their views on strong vs weak. if he is weak then his ppl will attempt to kill him like the others. hence why he got that reaction to mark seeing him weak/worthless but later remembers that is his son he is raising. one is a parent vs one is a soldier mindset.
This special was such a pleasant surprise out of no where. I always liked Atom Eve, so often you think some Superheroes would do more good just helping society oppose to fighting villains. Atom-Eve doing her humanitarian work is just so fitting for her character. This backstory was really well done and she's gone way up in my books, just a really cool extra before we get into season 2.

The dad doesn’t want her having Asperger. Probably feels she suffered some sort of brain damage due to her apparently “dying” and coming back to life.
Why is it like no one feels sorry for the other kids
This was actually a one-shot comic titled the same name, and so much of it I wish was adapted one-for-one. There are a few lines, like her Brother Phase 2's introduction is so cold and I wish they kept her saying after her super saiyan mode that she regrets choosing revenge over choosing to bring back her parents, (Dr Brandyworth is basically her dad), knowing she could've brought them back just pulls on your heartstrings. Additionally, her real mom's appearance in the comic is so much darker, it was very extreme body horror and I gagged and flinched when I first read it. Understandable why they toned it down. I also do not recall if in the comic they ever called her braindead, she may very well have just been in a tube for 10+ years enduring constant torture.

atom eve super sayian mode isn't something she should even remember for a long time. Her super power mode (able to alter living matter) is not just something she can access whenever she wants.
