FISHING the River RIBBLE - The INITIATION

In Summer 2022, I moved from Yorkshire to Lancashire and met James. This video is the first time James took me to fish the River Ribble.
Safe to say, this special river blew me away, the landscape, the wildlife, the fishing, it had everything! I decided to approach my first ever session on the Ribble using my favourite method of all, centrepin trotting.

Hi Guys wanting to start fly fish live near River Ribble Preston area would you be able to suggest location best to go 😀

You can catch on fly most stretches of the River Ribble, the only stretches we tend to fish are free stretch (in Preston) and Elston (Wigan card). Was on Elston this afternoon, saw a lot of decent brownies taking flies off the top, a really strong hatch early afternoon today!

@damiengreenwood5137 the bank opposite golf course in low water conditions on free stretch can be ideal In low water conditions can be great fun on dry fly, there's a long, straight stretch with an obvious retaining wall to stop banks being undercut, often get trout and chub topping all along that wall and it's good spot for wading safely too.
