I enjoy how you set up your palette, the mixing of colors, discussions of brushes and how to’s. I think a paid channel should offer an enhancement of skills, even those we don’t think we want like landscapes. I am scared of them. So I gravitate to flowers. But what makes us well-rounded as artists? Teach us that. We should know some techniques so we show improvement and can launch ourselves... I will pay for that, for you pushing me to go out of what is comfortable. We don’t know what we don’t know. I want to know. That’s worth it to me. Hope it makes sense!

Ellen..I love your channel. I have always loved art but never thought I was good enough. Because of this pandemic, I found your channel and have been painting with you every day! Mini Monday Madness is my favorite and I prefer the landscapes, probably because they are less difficult for me! Loved this tutorial and your commentary...especially loved it when you mentioned my fave artists Michelangelo and Picasso! Ellen, with much respect and love, if the light source is coming from the left, then the coffee shadow would also be on the left because the cup would be blocking the light. The coffee highlight would be on the right whereas the highlight on the rest of the cup would be on the left

I’m confused as to why Ellen didn’t like this comment when she has liked all others. I came on here to make the same comment about the shadow being in the wrong side inside of the cup. Christine you said it much more politely that I would. And Ellen is always saying professionals need to know how to accept criticism. If someone is teaching they should be open to feedback to make sure the are teaching the correct information. When I saw she slipped over your comment it made me a little sad. I might get deleted for calling attention to this but oh well.

The subscription thing can bring big changes, I hope you get out of it what you want! I have to be really careful about who I support and how much, it looks like it's only a couple bucks here and there, but I've recently had to cut WAY back on Patreon and YT because I was in up to over $65/month! When you do launch yours, I will probably join to see what kind of info you share that is different from the typical YT stuff. I would love to know more about licensing, and being a working artist, whether you're with an agency or are self-employed, do you have an agent or manager like authors do? How do you find work? How do you get your work onto products at places like Target? What's the pay like? ALL the nitty gritty. ;) Speaking for myself though, the difference between a free YT channel and a subscribed YT channel or a Patreon account is that the content for the paid stuff is either more in depth, or contains some info that I couldn't get from watching your channel for free. Lessons, giveaways, private live stream content for just the paid subbies, that kind of stuff. It's going to be a weird little ride, I hope it goes well for you!

I’m new to watercolor painting and your relaxed, natural style gives me confidence to keep trying. I like your landscapes, florals and really, everything you. Keep it up and thank you! I just joined you as a patron!

New to your channel but 💜 it. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Are MEEDEN watercolors an artist or professional grade of paint? I am looking to upgrade from a student level. Ty!

So glad you did this cup of coffee. But, shouldn't the shadow inside the cup be on the left side, if the light is coming from the left?

Wouldn't the light coming from the left side cause different shading inside the cup than what you did?
Dark on the left side under the inside edge of the cup and light on the right side inside where the light would hit the inside on that side of the cup?

I personally do not like Patreon. I had so many problems. I would, however, support your channel. Thanks.

It might be when I had the member account on CZcams I got rid of it and did Patreon instead.
