Thank you Darren for the video. Amazing as usual. I feel jealous when I see you walking the market and temples. I really miss Thailand. I have to cancel my trip to Krabi, Surat Thani and other part of Thailand for June because of the corona situation. I did planned the trip 8 months ago, air tickets and hotels were already booked but unfortunately this SXXT happen. Very dissapointed . Well hope everything can be back to normal soon. Take care and stay healthy to your family. Cheers!
Not watched one of your videos for awhile mate ..sorry ..Best temple iv'e seen plus the next time i'm over there (please let it be soon👏) i'm going to try the grilled fish
🌏🙏🏝 good job Darren
Nice video again Darren, keep safe stay safe from U.K
Thanks. You stay safe too.
Very nice family outing. Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful video , amazing temple 🕍 😍 living in America not sure I can even visit Mexico anymore 😀 luckily I'm in Hawaii where aren't that many cases ❤
Nice video brought back memories I was in Ao nang and Krabi in Feb/ March 2020 can’t wait to get back. Wat Ban thong is awesome,my Favorite restaurant in Krabi is ‘The River’ floating Bar and Restaurant .near the night market and Crab sculpture 👍👍👍keep up the good work best regards from wet and cold England 😥
Thanks Mike. We still haven't eaten at the River, we tried to go there last Xmas Eve, but they were full. It's one of the many restaurants in Krabi that's still on our "to eat" list.
Stay warm and dry amigo 👍👍
Great video mate!! we can see the energy in your face and voice and walk about !! Being up and about outside, helping others and of course the food...that restaurant just by looking...at the product...sooo nice those egg/crab creations wow!! And i have never before observed let alone tasted those shrimp ring-like items. Today i went fishing but near 100 and soaking wet via humidity in 10 minutes..havent experienced weather like this since i was a boy in August. So i go to local shoppe and there is a Shrimp clearance sale. i get back to me hole in da wall and watch your vid. I see that Shrimp salad. Maybe you can remember ingredients and lay it on me?? Would appreciate it. Now have bookoo Shrimp to cook. The greens with chicken or pork?? i like much greens with soy or fish sauce. Her cousin couls have settled on the white IZUZU nice kind of pickup with xtra room. Nice to see your son really growing up and joining in. Nice to see you take the xtra pull on da straw mate, masks are not law* here. I have been diagnosed here in the States in 1990 with COPD/ Emphysema i am legally permitted to go without. But, when shopping i wear one up to my nose, not over. It would be dangerous for me. I do respect the fears of others until they become further educated to the medical science dangers for our bodies health * BY wearing a mask beyond 15 minutes. It was again sooo nice that you would invite us to go along with you and family/ relatives to temple and marketplace. Peace...be safe..look forward to the next time...God bless🤗😋✌👌👋
Thanks Ross. Aorn did a recipe for a version of those shrimp cakes on Facebook about a year ago. You can see it here: facebook.com/thailandvideos/videos/801697123534027/ They are very tasty!
Wet via humidity in 10 minutes ... Welcome to my world my friend 🤣
I don't have an exact recipe for that seafood salad but generally the flavors in Thai seafood salads come from lime juice, chilies, fish sauce, sugar and shallots/onions.
Thanks for watching, you stay safe too. God bless ✌👌🙏
สวัสดีค่ะ อนุโมทนา สาธุๆๆค่ะ🙏🙏🙏
สวัสดีครับ 🙏
Hey Guys, nice one as usual.......Good Afternoon from Las Vegas......it looks like Thailand is closed to foreign tourism until September.....If so then I may come visit for my schools Christmas break.....
Thank you Darren for another fantastic video. I loved the beautiful temple, however not too sure about the pigs ears. Glad to see you're all looking happy and healthy. 👍
Thanks Craig! I too was once a pig ear sceptic, but then I tried them and now I can't get enough of them 😊😋
Hope you're doing well too mate. 👍👍
Maybe it’s the old saying, don’t knock’em until you try them. I have eaten bugs and many other different types of food in Thailand that I’d normally not eat and loved nearly all of them. I can’t wait to visit Thailand again soon . 🇹🇭 Having lots of withdraws. 😏
hope reopen Thailand i want to here.
Your videos be better and better. Regards from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you 🙏
💖💖💖💖
🥰🙏
Good to see you guy's out and about again. Markets in Sydney are re - opening as well...I've been to two in the last couple of weeks, but not many people were wearing a mask....the old "She'll be right" attitude. I haven't sat in a restaurant since March.
Great video.
👍🇦🇺🙏
Jim.
Oh those little shrimpies looked so so good on that salad. I could of jumped threw the screen & ate everyone of those little suckers. Your so mean to me by showing them..... lol....
Oh you know I'm kidding you hun. It all looked yummy. I've never had a grilled pig ear. I only bought them for are dogs @ Wal-Mart to chew on & there really oily. But I'll try somethings once. I'll have to go to a butcher shop & ask him if he's got pig ears then come home & grill them up. I do love those pig skin chips. There yummy & every now & then I get a surprise of pig hair on one or two, yuck!
I'm glad you can get out & about. Here in the states the dang COVID-19 virus is still spreading like wild fires. I wish they would all stay in for another 3 mos so we could get rid of the virus. But you know people hate being told what to do. They reopened the beaches in Florida & now reclosing all of them from now to July 7th I think that's what the news said.
We'll happy eating, be safe,
Chris from Missouri
Hahaha, yes they were good. You're gonna hate me in 2 weeks again Chris with the shrimps we've got coming in that video ;)
I'd never had pig ears before I moved to Thailand myself. The first time I bought them it was an accident, I was riding my motorbike and I passed a grill on the street that smelled so good I had to go back. It wasn't till the lady was cutting them up for me that I realized what I had bought, but they were kind of expensive and I don't waste food, so I decided to try them and since that day I have been a fan 👍👍
Yes, I'm seeing what's happening in the US with the virus 😔. You're right, people hate being told what to do, and then everyone else suffers because of it. It's a virus, it doesn't have legs, people spread it. If people stopped spreading it, it would disappear. Thankfully Thai people were smart enough and respectful enough to do the right thing and now we're up to 38 days since we had our last case of community transmission of the virus here. For a country of 70 million people I think that's a pretty good effort. We're praying for you folks in the US.
You stay safe too Chris, I hope some shrimpies find their way to your plate soon ;)
@@darrenb3 thank you hun. We need all the pray we can take w/a stupid president like we have. I didn't vote for him. HELL I've nevered liked him @ all. Matter in fact any man that tells another man that women like to be grabbed you know where I don't have time for that kind of stuff or words in my life. And I sure don't like to be grabbed there or any other part of my body. He's lower then a pig in my book.... lol....
I don't blame the UK for what there doing to the USA people, not letting them in the country. I'm glad there standing up to the bully & I wish all countries abroad would do the same. Then maybe he would take this virus serious. But he's still playing stupid & not listening to the doctors we're never going to get rid of this dang COVID-19 virus until it kills all elders, poor, & whoever can't afford healthcare. He just makes me sick & I can't wait to vote his dumbass out of office. But he'll blame Obama for anything he can as long as he don't have to take responsibility for anything. I've never seen anything like him in my whole life. He makes me sick, sick, sick.........
How let's move on to more happy things..... Those shrimps, crabs, clams, & lobsters..... YUMMY, YUMMY I WANT THEM IN MY BELLY..... lol.... I guess the only thing that would come close to those in my neck of the woods would be freshwater crawdad or crawfish, mud bugs & whatever else there called, depending on what part of the hills you come from. So I guess I'm going to have to buy a couple of traps & head to the lake... lol... I can cook those suckers. Thank God I know how to boil water.
Thanks for sharing your eats w/us. Happy EATTING & please be safe,
Chris
Yes, he is certainly a piece of work. And it is obvious he will blame whoever he can for his incompetence rather than taking responsibility for his mess ups.
Thankfully Aorn, Ananda and I live in a country where the leadership took steps, and is still taking action, to deal with the corvid situation, rather than saying stuff like, “I’m not concerned at all. No, I’m not. No, we’ve done a great job.” Donald Trump, March 7, and on March 10, “It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”
It's now July 7 and in Thailand it has been 42 days without a single locally transmitted case of Covid-19. We all know what is happening in the US now.
Your freshwater crawdad - we call those "yabbies" in Australia and they are very tasty 😋. I don't see them here in Thailand for eating though, the ones here are very small (about 2-3 inches long) and sold as pets.
Good luck at the lake ... You stay safe too my friend.
All the best,
Darren
👍
Great vid Darren am back in Phuket in October if all goes ok with travel and planning a few days in Krabi I’ve never been can you advise which is a good beach to go to and is there a lot of hut bars like at the Otop market in Phuket thanks
Our 2 favourite beaches are Klong Muang Beach and Phra Nang Beach at Railay: czcams.com/video/y6p3SwJdoB4/video.html
There are excellent beach bars and bamboo bars in Krabi, but nothing exists here which is similar to that area at the OTOP Market.
darrenb3 thanks Darren
Hi! What is the name of the crispy prawn snack at 14.12? I love them, and want to learn to cook them! Thanks!
There doesn't seem to be one universally accepted name for those, even the vendors selling them often don't seem to know the name for them (I've asked many times). The most common name I've been able to find is กุ้งทอดใบเล็บครุฑ (Goong tod bai lep krut).
Aorn will be cooking them soon on her channel (czcams.com/channels/wKAELs8o0mkW_OiSIcxMiA.html ) in an upcoming video.
@@darrenb3 I first ate one at Laem Ka, near Rawai in 2000 I think. Is it OK to love a snack?
I believe so. I think it's actually ok to even love more than one 😋
You’re very lucky because you stay at Thailand. I hope really soon the Thai government will let Farang back in to Thailand
Where is temple location in all nang?
This Temple is in Ao Luek, all the details are in the description below the video.
There are no temples in Ao Nang, but there are many in the surrounding areas. The nearest one is in Klong Son: goo.gl/maps/hqhvXYnWBECNxU4B6
Music man?
As stated in the description - from epidemicsound.com
Who is the cutie you brought along :) :P? wifes sister or ?
Aorn's cousin.
@@darrenb3 Oh ok..thank you :)
Hell is funny friend🥰..fc
What has happened to darrenb3 ? No new video's for awhile.
Hi Sandra,
Unfortunately Thailand is in what is really its first wave of Covid, so we haven't been out and about making videos. On April 1, 2021, Thailand had had less than 30,000 Covid cases since the pandemic began. As of now Thailand has had over 863,189 cases and the numbers of new cases per day is increasing and nearly every day it is a new record high for both the number of new cases and deaths.
Restaurants have restrictions on dining in, many vendors are not going to the markets, and there are also added restrictions for travel within Thailand.
Right now my priority is to keep my family safe and well, sadly it is not a good time for us to be out and about trying to make videos. There will be more videos coming when the situation improves. Stay safe, hopefully we'll be back soon
All the best,
Darren
Aussie dollars please Darren
Most of my views come from the USA and the US dollar is about as close to an international currency as the world has, that's why I include prices in $US. Unfortunately I don't get that many views from Australia, I get more from Malaysia, India, Singapore and the UK and I also get requests to put prices in the currencies of those countries. If I were to include all of them it would take me hours and my videos would have a lot more text than I want, so at this stage, unfortunately it isn't going to happen.
It's pretty easy to convert Thai baht to Australian dollars. 20 baht is roughly $1AU currently, 100 baht is roughly $5AU, etc. Another way to think of it is 5 baht is roughly 25 cents AU.
Google also does a great job and its rates are current to the minute: www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=thb+aud
I hope that helps.
cheers mate it makes sense I enjoy your videos and thank you for taking the time to reply and exsplain
No...not Nissan! Their transmission will blow after 130k miles.
We're up to 110,000 km in our Nissan, so I guess we'll see soon enough :)
@@darrenb3 you got 61000 miles to go.
Seriously the rule making you wear a mask to enter or standing up but letting you remove it when you are sitting makes absolutely no sense or is the Thai way of thinking that you can't transmit it while sitting down ?
