I find it commendable that Korean actors take the time to learn English to connect with their English speaking fans. 👍

Coming from.India ...most metropolitan or ever mid sized city in India ..being bilingual (or multilingual) is just normal ..
As for these actors ..many of them have living in English speaking countries in their formative years so its kinda natural /survival ..Those who grew up and live primarily in SK and still speak good english is well appreciated

English is the easiest language to learn in the whole world , simple and it's used internationally by almost everyone . It's not complicated compared to other lingo's from other countries especially if you lived where English is what people speak in their everyday lives . I'll be more impressed if they can speak Korean , Japanese , Mandarin ( very challenging to learn ) , etc , now that's what I will call amazing . 😘😘😘llee

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on this video. I understand your point, but from their perspective, where their native language is Korean, Japanese, or another language, English could be very challenging for them, starting from grammar to pronunciation. I have seen many people complaining about English being the hardest language. Personally, I don’t find English that difficult, but I recognize that it is for many people. Additionally, some of the actors in this video speak three or four languages, including Mandarin and Japanese. 😊😊

@@yourk-list I understand what you are implying , yeah it's true that it's challenging to learn English from other's perspective but also , it's not at all if it's a part of a countrie's academic curriculum . I too have to learn it along with my favorite languages which are Korean, Japanese, Spanish . Speaking different languages is fun and helpful when you travel to other places in the world , I'm fond of the Korean language more . 🙂 llee

@@yourk-list Thank you very much for the kind compliment , I don't think that I'm one of those geniuses , it's just that I've always been fascinated with languages all my life and I like to learn and speak them with others . It makes me very happy to understand a different lingo coming from another person from a different country / culture , it's incredible in my view . Goodnight ... 😘llee

It’s harder to learn English if your alphabet is different, than coming from another language that uses the same alphabet. I really admire ppl who master languages both written & spoken with the different alphabets. Most languages are easier to learn In childhood.

You’re a unique crowd, excellent writers and can act truly out of this world. Stay who you are and true to yourselves. I love you guys to bits even if I don’t know ya’s. Cheers my fine friends. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏😘

I think if you want to reach global audience you will need to speak English no matter what. It’s the only language right now that has been used globally to communicate. Whether they have learned outside Korea or in Korea it’s still achievement to both for the fact that it is not their mother tongue language for most of these actors or idols. I myself speaks 3 languages since young teen and I did not forget as I grew up even though I don’t use 2 of the other languages often since I live in US now. 😊

bravo to those who did not spend longer periods of time in English-speaking countries, like Cha Eun Woo et al, who put in real work to attain their proficiency. It is not a real achievement to speak a language when you live in the country where it is spoken……

Still, they deserve credit to be bilingual. Those who grew up in English speaking countries deserve credit to maintain their ability to speak Korean. Being able to also read and write Korean required extra effort . No matter where you are raised, it is an achievement to speak multiple languages.

@@SL-yi9xu I agree with you. I speak 2 languages. I myself don’t feel that speaking English then as an adult learn my native language (Spanish) as a job well done. I actually felt embarrassed not to know how to speak my own language. I always give people credit for their accomplishments. Hope this explains why I made that statement.

Kudos to those who recognize the realities of the current world - but I do hope someday there will be recognition and validation of own national languages without deferment to viewing English proficiency as the end all be all evidence of cultural sophistication!
