Turkey: Erdogan's challenger Kilicdaroglu pledges 'true democracy' ahead of election | DW News

  • Turkish presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu told DW that he and his six-party alliance would "fulfill people's longing for democracy" and would "turn towards the West" in foreign policy matters if successful at the polls on Sunday.
"We will fulfill people's longing for democracy. That's the biggest change and it won't only be seen here in Turkey but by the whole world," Kilicdaroglu told DW. "We will bring true democracy to this country."
Polls suggest that the Nation Alliance with Kilicdaroglu as the candidate - long the leader of the center-left CHP, Turkey's second-largest political party after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's AKP - could pose the biggest threat to Erdogan in his 20 years in power.

Turkey can be a thriving, prosperous democratic country that honors it's alliance and remembers who has been it's long term friends and partners. The U.S. and Turkey not that long ago once were very good allies, then Erdogan came into power and started to sow discontent, mayhem and worked against the U.S. by being a known intelligence and military equipment leaker. They are no longer a trustworthy and dependable ally, Erdogan has done nothing good for Turkey, he's derailed it's citizens and the country from being about to prosper and grow. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk the father of the modern Turkish Republic and Turkish democracy turned as he said the country facing toward the West back in the 1920's and 30s, but Erdogan decided to face away from the West, and Ataturk's policies, and toward the East. Turkey must decide; do they want to be part of the Middle East or do they want to set their sails with the West and Europe. It is up to the Turkish people to make that decision.

These are foreign egents to put inside Türkiye yo Weaken them to submission, that’s what west can’t stomac because they are exposed snd Dalt with like Kavala , and other soon to join Kavala . I am not a citizen of Turkey but my opinion if I may, that Turkish people need a fresher leadership. The incumbent President is an authoritarian leader who likes to hang on to power until death. That would be the likes of Putin, Xin Jinping, Kim Jong Un of whom are all autocrats with dissaster future of a country.
