I think there is a strat then a switch to a tele in the actual recording. I feel there is that bright punch coming in after you hear something like an dual lead f# octave. The first 4th fret g-string doesn't really sound as powerful as the next tele bend. It's just my theory. It's possible since David used telecasters during the dark side recordings

​@@MrACangusyoungDC He may have done, but in an interview with Alan Parsons he says the Black Strat was his main guitar on the album, and at that time it had already had the "Gilmour mod" added - which allows a bridge / neck combination - giving a tele like sound. So it's a good pickup on the tone change. :)
There are also a number of live performances (althought this is less of an indication) where he uses the black strat and switches the switch to position 5 and flips the neck on toggle.

@Foniks Monkee I have that mod as well and it is useful but it doesn't really the tele bridge. More of a middle position tele I guess. Actually I found out that Gilmour supposedly only used his strat and lewis humbucker 24fret guitar on the dark side of the moon. Wierd if it was that lewis which also is on the end part of money solo. And talk about money I think the mod of neck always on button or switch also is used to get all pickups engaged to get a super brittle sound which I think is the tone of most of the money solo.

@@MrACangusyoungDC Mmm interesting... in the 2016 Pompei concert, it's hard to tell, but he seems to use position 1 and 2 during time (1 for the solo). I think in position 1 he toggles the neck on just as he starts the solo (but hard to see). Your right - the mod gives you B/N and B/M/N. I have a Fender Ultra with the S1 switch which gives those combinations - and it gets pretty close to the Time solo tone.
