Pete Gage: I sing and play blues piano in various settings from solo to the full band. The Pete Gage Blues Trio, presents laid-back standard blues tunes with a #jazz -y tinge, whilst my band, The Pete Gage Band, is characterised by original and powerful renditions of classic blues tunes from the early days of blues music up to the present time. I am a primarily a "live" gigging blues musician, but I also also write songs from hard-driving blues through to soul ballads and even in folk styles. I record all my songs, inviting many of my musical associates to contribute. But I will often play bass guitar, lead & rhythm guitars myself, as well as all manner of keyboards.

I've made a number of posts on Dons Real Blues about the old Argonaut biker bar in Sacramento (on their infamous "whiskey row" that held 32 bars in a mile) I wandered into that fateful night. Everyone started telling me I needed to go downtown to an old rotten place called the Torch Club where they had live Blues, featuring locals to famous, seven nights a week. In the summer it was Sunday afternoons too. They had been there since the end of prohibition and being across the street from the State Capitol had autographed pictures on the wall of some "lesser" known customers like Ronald Reagan and Jerry Brown. During his first term, when he lived in the loft of an old state building just down the street, Jerry and his entourage were late night regulars. There was that legendery night he came in with Linda Ronstadt on his arm. She took to the stage with the band playing and gave the house a text book lesson in singing the Blues. I had so many great nights there I became a fixture. It was Moose the bartender who first complained "You here again? You're just an animal for those Blues!" I've been stuck with monicker "Blues Animal" since!

Dear Don, magical, nice and clear cut. Sax, absolutely, piano also. He has a good voice and sings well. What a shame, some people are a bit slow in catching on to a new name/new talent. They prefer to stay with just the one's they know which is very unfortunate for the new up and coming would be Blues singers. I'm quite sure there are some 'Howling Wolves' out there who just haven't been given that chance/opportunity to show/shine their light on us. Now, this is where you make a difference Don and why you deserve such praise, because without you shining your extended light in their direction, both ways actually. - for them and for us. Hello Agape Love and thank you for your good feedback. I must say that quite a few things you mentioned, I would agree with. In particular the giving for humanity's sake because, that also involves the precious time and the effort, and when you give from the heart, it's such a good feeling, and to see the other persons appreciation can be quite overwhelming. Everything shouldn't have to revolve about money (but unfortunately to many it comes first).
Many a time people can cross our path and, for no other reason but to enlighten us in a certain aspect of our life that perhaps we are not giving/awareness to. As to the struggles and hardships of life, even those are sent to us for a reason. For us to learn who our true friends are, who didn't let us down and who are always there, come rain or shine. Likewise Blues teaches us, that when we are feeling blue and the energy we give to blues, can be the same healing energy.
Don's channel has and plays the best Blues, he has a good heart, an excellent taste, and choice and lots of good energy which, if you stay tuned you will surely feel and agree.
