- All finds were uncovered with the XP Deus, amzn.to/2Tv4G4t . Off out going solo metal detecting a new arable field I was lucky to uncover Saxon, Medieval, Georgian and Victorian coins and artefacts. Join me, Man v Field discovering England's lost history one field at a time.
EDIT - i've since found out the ring is costume jewellery :(

The saxon cut half 😲 what a find, as soon as i saw it i knew it was saxon. Great video mate keep um coming 👍
When it was in the clod i could see it was very sharp but didn;t expect a saxon. shame it's only half. Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
hmm update on the ring... not sure in the stones. Gotta go see a gemologist apparently lol
Gonna try another jewellers asap.
The ring appears to have a repair at some stage as the lower part is a different material from the upper part.
hmm, certainly odd.
That cut half is a beauty. Well done.
Thanks for stopping by :)
Thanks for posting, exactly what I needed after waking up after a manic night shift 😊
Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
Nice video, great field and lovely finds . As someone else said lead coffin fishing weight usually used on rivers as they are streamlined to hold the bottom , I inherited some from my Grandad. Ring looks really old and green stones look like Peridot, white difficult to tell from video maybe Opal or Milky Quartz. Great videos to watch proper detecting without the silly commercial thrills, a real breath of fresh air. Keep them coming!
Thanks for the IDs. Hmm, might be right on the peridot. I'll post in the comments section below when i find out more. The jeweller i saw yesterday couldn;t help much :)
Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
Wow! Hammered and the ring.......fantastic! So pleased for you. 👍
Thank you. Funny how it goes. First 20 mins on that field and two wonderful finds with the rest of the finds tending to be more modern. I've since re-visited the field but not found anything else of the same age so perhaps, the saxon coin at least, was simply a random drop. Lucky for me though. Thanks for watching!, much appreciated.
Another thumbs up production mate well done on the Saxon ammeeerrrd! Good to see your back on them they are like busses for sure! Keep them coming bud, 😉👍👍👍 your big glass fragment is from a post medieval onion bottle by the way 15-16’s

Thank you - i got lucky again! It's not always like this. The last two hunts have been pretty dire but that's the fun about detecting, you never know what's beneath your feet!

The glass fragment is rotted soda glass, probably georgian at best but saxon penny is a great find!
Thanks for the ID. I wasn't sure but Soda glass makes sense. Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
Glue tube on youtube, good find, but, sell it on and make sure you're not stuck with it!
Awesome saxon cut half
Thanks for watching, appreciated :)
I am a beginner do u recheck the dig again after ur finds, how do I go about getting on permission for land ,but great finds ,Declan Nireland
Hi, yes I always re-check the hole. Sometimes i forget but still check again if i've put the plug back.
Always check your local laws and always obtain permission before detecting. The best way to get a per missions is be honest and polite and go door knocking!
Great vid, subbed 👍🏻
Thank you, and...Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
18-19th Century wine bottle.
The only thing i know about glass is it hurts wen u cut yer self on it lol
lol, Thanks for stopping by!
The coffin shaped lead are rabbit net weights. 18th C
Thanks for the ID. Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
Stunning hammered and equally nice ring...any idea what metal it’s made from?
Hi Peter, thanks for watching. It is an odd one. The stones don't look like glass but I'm no expert so will leave that to a jewellery i'll be visiting at the weekend. The ring itself though seems to be made of a lead alloy and almost appears to be made of pewter one one part which may possibly have been a repair. I'm stumped!
@@manvfieldmetaldetectinguk6767 Got to be one for your FLO to cast an eye over?
