This one was a special one for me - I'm glad to have it back, huge thankyou to my friend Zdeněk for sharing a backup of this for me. Originally I wanted to cover Fake Healer - and reached out personally to Mike Howe for his blessing to do so (and secretly, for some tips on how to sing that fucker of a song... what the hell!!). Before I was able to get it finished, Mike Howe actually passed, and this was a Metal Church song both poignant and also powerful considering, and it came together over a few days. The vocals were rushed, and I was very intimidated and a little emotional to sing this one - but it's still special to me. I probably should have done a few more takes on the main vocal, but it just felt so URGENT to share at least *something* for my favourite heavy metal singer ever - a guy that really got me into singing in the first place - I've had Blessing in Disguise on cassette since the early 90's. Since I recorded this cover as an on the spot homage to Mike, I actually ended up finishing my cover of Fake Healer, and really took my time to get it right, I hope this cover, and Fake Healer really show the incredible love and respect I have for Mike Howe's incredible, inimitable voice.
