Do You Need Formation?

Formation has changed my life. We all get formation in many different ways. Family, sports, school, Church, content, books, etc. In this episode, I talk with a good bro, Huy Le, about the importance of formation. He shares the impact good formation has had on his life. I believe we all need formation and that it would be good to intentionally place ourselves in environments conducive to growth. I hope this episode encourages you to seek out good formation and open yourself up to receive.

Formation is the skill of habits. As I was growing up, my parents pushed me to be responsible and work hard at school, help out around the house and integrate faith by going to Mass and receive the Sacraments and have a prayer life. In Catholic School , we prayed, were expected to live according to the Gospel and prepare for the future. At Franciscan University of Steubenville, all that was reinforced but taken to a new level. Prayer had to grow too. Going to Mass more than just Sunday and Holy Days. The Rosary had to develop more in my life. It was not just a bunch of Hail Marys but recalling and learning about the life of Jesus and Mary. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy also is a reminder to me that I need the Mercy of God and I need to be merciful to others and tell them of God's love and mercy. Formation is constantly growing and needs to grow and continue to move forward. Prayers for you and your family and work.
