Edit: I was worried it's going to be "Dustin the Turkey" bad but I think it may be more of a Netta meets Little Big vibe after listening to it a second time. This is a bop
After reading the lyrics I can tell that this is a brilliant protest song without falling into cliches. Thats what makes the song more than just silly and hilarious
There is a video on YT where the sing a short part of the song acapella/acustic at a pressconfernce. It proofes (at least to me) that we don't need to worry about their vocals.
Plus a little bit Konstrakta maybe?

I Had a similar reaction to yours. Which was. What the hell did i just listen to when it was over. Had to hear it again. And now it sits on my 5. Place in my Top 29 so far. And might grow even more. It kinda like Georgia last year i also was confused about but liked it. Beside this is actually GOOD. Will it be a winner?. No i think jury gonna destory it. And like u said. People either gonna LOVE THIS. Or HATE THIS.
The thing I appreciate the most about your reaction videos Matt, is that your reactions always seem genuine, authentic and honest.
Unlike others who make those kind of videos where its obvious its not their 1st listening of the song and everything they say seem so scripted, prepared in advance and calculated.

Confused at this point. 🤣I don't know if I love it or do I just listen to it couple times, say nah and never go back to it. Also agree that the live stage for this will probably define the final decision. 😅 Loved the sassy attitude and the mv though 💕
Its nice that Austria didnt go safe, but I dont understand the hype. Its super ridiculous and an average viewer doesnt know or care about writing fees. Will get some love in the televote I guess, but I doubt it can swipe away voters like semi-ridiculous entries that did well (Netta, Konstrakta...).

The first thing that I noticed is that it felt like it lasts only 1 minute, while it is 3 minutes. I think it's a good sign!

It's much better than I expected! Based on the short clip, I thought it would be a complete joke entry, but it's a really good song! So catchy as well, my mind hasn't stopped going Poe Poe Poe Poe since listening:)
This is amazing!
If you know the message of the song, you will be surprised how important the message is. Everything belongs together, the message, the music, the lyrics and the dance. It's a total work of art and as well done as only a few can bring it in one song. At the ESC, you can only really compare it with Konstrakta from last year. I think it's great.
I actually have faith for this one live in terms of vocals, Teya was in Serbia's NF in 2020 and had extremely good vocals there. I have no clue about Salena so lets hope she is good live as well. This needs absolutely insane staging to work live, or at least a lot of energy because I can see this either doing amazingly well or completely failing.
If they nail the live performance, then its gonna be a moment on stage!
If you read the lyrics, you cannot possibly say this is terrible. Do you understand the music industry references, the 0.003 cents per Spotify stream, the reference to A&R and Universal? I'm a ballads guy, and I don't care - this is a brilliantly crafted song, catchy, well-written and fun. If you hate this, I can't help you. Sorry Matt.
This and Finland are my top 2 atm. I hope Käärijä wins but if this does wouldn’t be upset. :)

I do like this song, but I do agree that it is gonna be difficult to bring this kind of music to the live stage. This could be just like Austria last year which was btw one of my favorites!!

It has an interesting message between the lines and is FUN AF, I like it, I'm having an amazing time hearing it. I'm extremely afraid about the live performance tho; it can flop hard, as hard as Pia Maria did.
So I won't get my expectations too high on this one, just enjoy A LOT the record version.
Edit: I'm having a liiiiittle problem with the "Poe was a lyricist" part of the song... That's not trueeee skgkskkfdkkgkd I mean, I get why they are saying that, but it sounds too incorrect to my ears and it makes me cringe. The rest, amazing.

They are better live performers and have more experience under their belt, whereas Pia Maria was LITERALLY a newbie who had ZERO live experience whatsoever!

Austrian here. I also don't know. It OS a Party Song. Ridiculous. Eurovision..what do you expect? Disco Pop Ballads, few Rock or Heavy or Punk. Some like Eurovision some think it gets worse every Year. Finland and Austria..Same Kind of Strange Crazy Fun Cool.

Interesting song, at least it's something not entirely safe and something not to be taken 100% seriously. I don't know, how to feel about this, it could potentially flop, but could also have some televote appeal. Let's see, how it's being performed live, I think, that Teya might be a good singer, not so sure about Salena. But both are probably better than Pia Maria anyway. But it's relatively tricky to perform a spoken word chorus like this, backing tracks are allowed, but I think that the main singers have to sing over it, though. It wouldn't have been a problem in the 2 previous years. Let's see, how this plays out.

I'm worried to react to this because i rarely ever see likes or responses on your channel (note - you kinda let yourself down there). This is kind of fabulous but, by the same score, a lot of people will have no idea who Edgar Allen Poe is and will be totally lost from the get-go.. The title says everything and people will either love this or be TOTALLY confused.and alienated.
