Loved this! We love playing board games but of course our kids want in too. We really want to build their interest in board games but our oldest is only 5 so it is so hard to find a game that us adults would want to play. The best we've done so far is Sushi Go Party! Our 3 and 5 year olds love that game and it is not so painstakingly boring for the adults. Please keep reviewing kids games!
Thanks for this lively video, which was just the ticket for us - Leo (German version) and Menara are on the way to us, and will be Christmas presents. Keep up the good work!
A couple of games that works well with my kids lately: - Stuffed Fables - Awesome for the whole family. - Kingdomino - Fun, perfect size for travelling - One Deck Dungeon (Coop) - To introduce my girls with Dungeon crawler (ish?) type game - Roll for adventures - Who does not like dice games? Coop in addition, so perfect for us - Pyramide du Pharaon (2010) - Found this game in trash's neighbor ,lol. My kids LOVE it! :) Very simple but fun and tense. - Carcasonne (The Castle) - I never really liked Carcassonne, but the castle version for 2 players fits me perfectly - Love Letters - They (my girls) immediately loved it. Created some custom rules for other cards. - Kahuna - Bought it for me and my wife, playing with my 7 years old! :)
I think I might give potion explosion another try. It was ok when I played it. Feels like Candy Crush the board game. There’s a guy selling it for 20 bucks nearby so maybe I’ll pick it up. I liked Barenpark but this video certainly makes me want to add it to my collection.
About Carcassonne: "This is crap." Got it. xD But seriously, these are great recommendations. I'd be interested in seeing if this list has changed at all in two years. I saw you did a group video a few weeks ago, but from one content creator to another, don't be afraid to pop these out yearly just to capitalize on SEO, using tail end traffic to drive viewers like me to the newer lists!
Great picks! Since you allready own a couple of german games, I'd recommend two from Zoch: "Heckmeck am Bratwurmeck" (Pick-omino?, push ur luck with dice) and "Hickhack in Gackelwack" (an easier "Evolution"), no text except the introduction, easy to teach and fun for (drunken) adults as well;o)
I'm late to the party, but thanks! Always appreciate suggestions for kid games that aren't terrible for adults. My 4 and 6 year olds love Ghost Fightin Treasure Hunters, Animal Upon Animal, Slide Quest, Pyramid (of Pengqueen), and Ice Cool/Ice Cool 2
It is great that you have links with the correct names in the description. I don't understand why the names of the games are misspelled in the chapters though...
Zombie Kidz is great. What also worked for us was Santorini, Blitzkrieg (not the best theme for kids but easy to play), Fort, Downforce, and Minecreaft.
My 6 year old enjoys dragon wood/realm and ghost hunting treasure hunters. He likes roll for it and recently cave troll and megaland. Your list raise my interest. Gotta check some of these.
My Little Scythe and Carassone are in our collection and faves of the adults and kids! Great recommendations. Thank you for this vid and uh, MORE PLEASE! :)
My suggestions in this category: Ghost Fighting Treasure Hunters, Machi Koro. Also, many thematic heavier games can be adapted to your kids' level. I regularly play D&D board game (drizzt variant) and TMNT Shadows of the Past with my 4yo and have lots of fun!
Now i'm seriously considering Barenpark, but my son just likes fighting monsters. So Zombie kids is certainly up on my wishlist. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, now, to return the favour, i would highly and comprehensively recommend you check out a lesser known game called Karak. Think Carcassonne meets D&D. Keeping in mind, im playing with a 4-5 year old. Might not work for older kids although the box i believe says 7+
Where do you find info on these games when they first come out? My little scythe is already out of stock in a lot of places. Just wondering for those that come late to the game like me.
This is a brilliant list! Thank you for making sure they are games us parents enjoy too ;) Could you also do a list of educational games please? And...have you found any Judaism themed games?!?
Oooh, educational is a fun idea. Let me see what I can do. Jewish themed games are few and far between as far as being good quality and Jewish themed. There's Kingdom of Solomon, a pandemic style game.
So how many games do you actually own? I've got about one hundred and eighty, although I tend to go more for vintage games than super modern ones. I do have a fair few of those too though, my latest being Cat In The Box (only just awesome BTW).
Did you do the separate list of kids games that kids like and can play on their own? Sorry but in this video I am picking up a vibe of "this is a 'proper' game and as a gamer Ive got to force it on my kids" Lets rephrase that...another aspect is kids games which kids have chosen that adults can enjoy but wouldnt necessarily have picked
Trust me when I say that every single one of these games my kids love to play :) Just pulling any of these out results in them begging to play it. While I completely agree you shouldn't force "proper games" on your kids...I believe that finding a win-win is ideal. Why should anyone play games with their kids that aren't fun for them...when you can find games that both you and them enjoy? Meaning that forcing them to play a game they don't like, would be ridiculous...but playing games that both you and they love instead of games that just they love...I have a hard time seeing the harm in that.
@@BoardGameCo I am not gunna play a game I don't like and neither will the kids. I completely agree with you. My sister begged me to play monopoly and 500 when we were kids so many times that I was completely out off games for so many years. Finding games as an adult because I was looking for games to play with my kids was a revelation! It has really enriched our lives and connection and fun! In saying that please do a list with kids 7 up would love to see some of those x
I've only tried some of those but I would agree with most. Photosynthesis and Takenoko seem complex for 5+....but then again, my own list got that feedback from some so it's entirely subjective :)
Hey awesome video & games! This video fits PERFECTLY with our company. We make play tables & accessories for children as well as our new Kickstarter Launch including the adult Nilo Gamer Table! In case your interested, we just launched our all-in-one gaming & dining table, The Nilo Gamer Table, on Kickstarter and it was funded in ONE DAY! I'd love to see what you guys think of it. Joe, I'm so sorry the video didn't give you what you were looking for. I did a quick review to see what I said and I did try to give some information about each of the games. Apologies if it wasn't the right fit for you.

Please do an updated list of this video. Need to check if there are any new kids game that are good for adults to enjoy too.
I enjoyed this video, I'm always looking for fun games to play with my 7 and 4 yr old. Subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you!
Love this video, some really great recommendations. Could you please do a part two or even a 7+ lineup.
Absolutely!
I just played Dragomino tonight with my almost-4-year-old and it was AMAZING! It was the first game I played with her that I actually enjoyed myself.
"Don't let the cardbox fool you, this is crap... this is cram" LOL I loved that part! Pretty good game btw!
Lol yes :)

another easy one for the young kids is UNO Flip!
Great, thanks! I’ll look further into all of these, and I’m looking forward to part 2 :)
Awesome! Part 2 should be up in a week or two. I'm in middle of finalizing the list along with my daughters help :)
@@BoardGameCo have you done part 2? We are eagerly anticipating! Xxx
Thanks for the list, looking for some games to take to my grandkids. Looking forward to playing some of these with them.

I liked Barenpark but this video certainly makes me want to add it to my collection.
I have all of these except for Leo and carcasonne. Agree with the list completely although I would add giro galoppo and viva topo as well.
Really like your videos! This will help us find a gamer two for our grandson.
Awesome! Happy to help :)
Fantastic list! Absolutely tired of playing Loopin Louie lol
Lol, I've played that game and totally hear you :)
Thanks! Think I'll give Carcassone a try with my 4 year old. Might not worry too much about keeping score of points, but think he'll love it 😊
Barenpark and My little scythe awesome pick ups for us!
Glad to hear!
I'm considering the same games too!
Really appreciate you doing these sorts of videos! Very curious to check them out. 🎉😂😅 (emojis from the kiddo)🎉
Enjoy them 🙂

Disney Eye Found It and Codenames Pictures are good with kids and you don't need to play down
Good call on eye found it! Been awhile since I played that one.
I know this video is 4 years old, but if you love Barenpark, you'll like Tenpenny Parks too. Its a similar feel with beautiful artwork. :)
I do enjoy Tenpenny, but like Barenpark more :)

Indigo & Carcassonne. Great games!

There’s a kids version of Carcossone now which my daughter loves
thank you so much for your hard working & sharing these amazing resources

Im getting Potion Explosion, Meeple Circus and Indigo bases on this list.
Great choices!

Crazy Race looked cool. On Ebay right now for...$110.46 + $69.84 shipping. I think I can wait. Must not have ever been mass produced in the US.

what the games like domino and start with "R" Rubincan" ?? RamaKang"? I forgot! it's been 15 years
