Thank you for posting this, Marc. I’ve watched it twice, it’s incredibly useful with dozens of insights. I’m looking forward to you starting up workshops again and will be sure to attend.
"Look for blue in the distance", "Any time you're struggling with color, it's probably a warm grey", "Err on the side of beauty". I probably misquoted you, but those are good to contemplate. Thank you.
Wonderful, thanks so much for the great tips. I really liked hearing about working into/out of an effect. The audio thing worked out, in this video we can hear the questions as well.
Marc, I tried plein air painting today for the first time, and I just wanted to say that there were a lot of good tips in this video. I agree with your brush usage, I found myself wanting even more than the 5-6 brushes I had brought with me, so I could leave them loaded with paint versus cleaning. And it was good to hear you talk about painting into or out of effects (among other things). Thanks for sharing!
Oh, so you did end up publishing this! Well, glad you sold me this demo. I like to refer to it and now watching this will help also. BTW, have not heard anything from Flowerfield and have asked several times.
Very generous! Lot of very good info. Looking into the sun is good for painting, but very hard on the eyes. Been doing it for years and I have eye floaters and other issues. Lot of my work is done in the desert.
Interesting tripod set up for painting. Good idea on how you need to squint to get the accurate colors in your background like the sky. So tricky to nail outside as it really is intense on your eyes.
I had a painting yesterday that didn’t work out because I didn’t get a good start with the values in the water. The water looked better when I scraped it out after getting home!
I'm completely in love with your work and with those lessons. Plein air painting is one of my favorite things to do, but I still struggle a little (a lot). Thank you for sharing all of those tips 🥰
Excellent presentation ,you have a good grasp of the concepts, would be challenging to see if you can come up with a totally new way of seeing,.......... just for fun, like keeping the values accurate, but use colors that are yours.
Love that this isn't overproduced. It's like actually being with you onsite. Lots of great information... thank you and keep uploading please
Man, does he nail the greens! Perfect colors.
Paint with one brush. But hold many. That is the secret!

Thank you, Marc. You shine at painting and teaching.
Thank you Marc for sharing this wonderful video. I am self taught painting almost 40 years and learned so much from it. Very inspiring>
What a great video. Thank you for uploading on your busy schedule. Please don't hesitate to continue uploading videos.
Great sense and use of colour; very informative video - a real painting lesson from a real painter. I learnt a lot, thanks.
Thank you Marc! This is wonderful. I love your work and your teaching style is relatable and accessible:)
Outstanding composition of this painting!
I'm really enjoyed your plein air painting demo!!

Excellent video! And I, too, want to know why you are holding 850 brushes. :)

Great artwork, great tips. Would you please show a closeup of the paintings when you’re finished?

Marc do you sell the gear as shown and are you doing workshops in 2018 ? Thx Peter Grab
Great video , what are the brushes you use? Thx
Zecchi sables and Cornelissen bristles (series 44).
I am new to painting but a moment away from giving up...because no matter what I do, my attempts at painting trees fails time and time again.
Where does one buy a tall outdoor easel like that?
I think the Daytripper sold by Joshua Been is similar. Steel Italian field easels get up high too.
lol enough brushes ..?...l usually take 5. thank you good video
