Yep done that once. Lucky the boat was still on the trailer when we noticed water coming in and were able to just pull it up the boat ramp and drain it.
"Good Samaritan" rips the eye-lit off the bow and doesn't make sure the prop is up before saying all clear. Maybe asking a guy holding a beer for help is not the brightest idea.
That's exactly what I was thinking, that really shits me, prep your boat in the Carpark then back it in, don't back down the ramp and f around while everyone else is ready to go and has to wait, those types of people always get the last car spot as well.
Seems like they caught the problem pretty fast, boat was far from swamped. Yeah, it was most likely the plug, or the other main reason it happens; failure of the thru hull fitting which is often overlooked. REAL GLAD it failed straight away, sometimes you can have a prime leak--not the plug--just starting but fail "out there"; this is so much better. Pull out, re-group and fix the damn thing.
I was looking for these type of comments, the car is big enough to tow the boat, problem was they left the bung out and it filled with water fast, adding weight
I did that once opps I left the plug at home, got out to sea and noticed water coming in so I whacked a polystyrene sea fishing float into the bilge outlet and made our way back to the slipway haha never did it again tho 😂
Googan festival. The worst most dangerous part of this video is the guy standing on winch on the blue boat trying to push it in the water. Red boat forgot plug? Happens more than you think.
The simple reality is that there is a LOT to boating and one problem is that in most places, the ONLY requirement is--do you have the money to buy the boat? If the answer is yes, then yes, you can go boating. If only we could require boat ownership to include ONE simple class--with a passing grade of course. This would not solve all problems but there are very easy to understand thins, that you either know, or you don't. Each is easy, but there are in fact, a LOT of simple things. I'm NOT saying these people are ignorant--they may be , and yeah, anyone can forget the drain plug, but I'm saying, in general, boating is serious--everyone needs a checklist and the knowledge of what each item ON the checklist is.
And here is a nuance--on boats like mine, after you wash her down, you need to jack up the front--all the way, then let the water drain out the back, THEN you can put the drain bung or screw (mine is a screw in with washer). The reason is she does not sit true on the trailer, if you get down on your knees and check the BOTTOM, you can see how hard it is to jack it high enough to have a slope downward measuring along the bottom. One guy I know can't jack it high enough, so he washed down at the ramp, then he leaves the plug out and goes back to the launch slope and let's it drain dry that way
im surprised there are not more comments like "he should be using a 4x4 and not a sedan for towing" I use a sedan for towing my heaving runabout, people give me strange looks. Well too bad, the old AU Falcon is a great towing car. Especially when the bloke in the 4x4 hilux towing a boat, tries to race me off the lights while Im towing mine #leftyouatthelightsmate
First off......o practice go practice go back up with your trailer In a empty parking lot......just straight........like a Wal-Mart parking lot...off to the side....alone the side......where the concrete is.....just practice backing up straight.....till you’re doing it for about 50 yards with a truck/trailer
Joel Krawczyk really looked like its still pumping when they pull out. Lets hope the morons sharpen up their game next time and put the plug in. They stood around like numpties while onlooker schooled them.
@@Tyler-hg6gy "really looked like its still pumping when they pull out." I think that's just the water that had flooded the boat coming out through the hull drain.
Jacksonville Florida I've seen a high price bass boat for got to put the plug-in he pulled the truck all the way up the driveway had to back the trailer in water to get his sinking boat pulled it back out of the water and let it drain it took about 30 minutes my plug is check the night before I go
Everyone who owns a boat has forgotten to put the plug in at one point.
It's not IF but WHEN.
I'm still waiting for my time.
Amen.

It hasn't happened to you then u you ain't a real boater lol
I once tossed the plug into the water but failed to attach the boat to the plug. Embarrassing!

Shit happens and nobody is perfect...How about all the nosey on lookers full of comments that probably don't even own a boat
They have enough brains NOT to own a money pit!
As a requirement they need to pass more exams to keep ramps free? Or do experienced handlers just need more patience?
My favourite part was when they dragged it up the ramp with the engine scraping on the ground 😂
Is this armature hour or what?
And what's the pelican in the blue boat doing? How long does it take?

Where is the sinking boat at?
Van Van
In the water.
It was sinking. Then they stopped and pulled it out

I'm pretty amazed that the car was able to yank that boat up the ramp with several hundred pounds of water inside.
EdithHead
Agreed. Their first mistake was attaching the boat trailer to the car. We're seeing the end result of the stupidity.
Water weights 5lbs per gallon
@@aguyandhiscomputer really? hows that? because its a commodore and not a 4x4?
@@davesboatingfishinggaming yes, the car is definitely underpowered and will have less traction on the ramp. Many of them are slippery from algae.

I can’t believe they are pulling that big boat with a small car

no trucks out there or what

we ALL start somewhere..happened to the best of us..ie; when you clean the boat-PUT THE PLUG BACK IN..check.

The water impeller is shot after leaving the motor running when you pulled it from the water!
You can clearly see at the 2:35 mark that he shuts the motor off.
Impeller? Where?
glad I don't go to that ramp
never had the plug in😂
What is the purpose of video taping this? You never made a mistake in your life?
How about “ learning from others mistakes “ ?
