UPDATE: lots of questions about neighbours and dealing with the smoke. I purposely run my fire pretty clean, but more importantly; The stack on this pit is BIG! It towers waaaay above all standard sized backyard pits. So although it might seem like a big pit would create more smoke, it’s actually way less noticeable at ground level than my previous smokers. The smoke is way up into the air as it leaves the stack, and doesn’t get blown sideways into my neighbours properties.
Absolutely love this pit, and really couldn’t be happier with it! I plan to make more how to bbq videos in the near future, so you can really see how this pit cooks. Let me know below if you have any questions about this beast of a pit or suggestions as to what you’d like to see me cook!! ❤
What do you mean by a "clean" fire?
One that burns hot, plenty of oxygen and doesn’t create a huge amount of visible smoke.
He has returned! Welcome back 😤
Glad you guys are still going and the new pit looks amazing, well done guys! 👌💯
Welcome back and congrats on the new pit
Glad you’re back! Can’t wait for more content
Appreciate it, Jennifer! Lots of content to come. And would always value any suggestions you have
Great video mate. Forgot how good that smoker looked! Glad to have the videos back mate. Look forward to the next one 👍
I'm blessed to have a 120 gallon smoker. It has a round 24" wide x 30" long firebox. However, I wanted to be able to move my coal bed back and forth like you so I did a poor man's version of your coal basket by molding a 26" x 26" sheet metal piece inside my firebox and bent up the front and back ends 2 inches of the sheet like a cradle to keep the coals on the sheet and now I can slide the coals back and forth in my 30 inch long firebox. I've also used a square grill grate from my bbq grill and placed it inside my round firebox, I make a coal bed on it and now I can also slide the bbq grate with coals back and forth. Hope this helps someone else who wants to do the same. Hank from so. cal.
Awesome new pit! Can't wait to see some vids on it!
Those were some terrific looking slices of point meat at the end there, nicely done! Love seeing a Texas-style BBQ business doing well in the UK, keep up the good work!
Glad you are back!
Gorgeous pit, ingenious firebox !
What a work of art, awesome pit right there 👌👌
That Offset Smoker is SWEET 😎
Beautiful pitt! Love the blue color! Someday id love to get a big stick burner!!
The pit looks great and all, but I'm more excited to see you posting again. Can't wait to see the upcoming videos.
I think that this in out addition thingy is great. I would suggest you look for a lidl dry material hoover (it's for all fire remains). They bring it as an item every now and then. It would help you clean that chamber in no time
It's definitely a great setup 👌 👍 see you in a couple of weeks, I promise 😂 lol nice to see the videos coming back 😀
He's alive! Been waiting for an update for months 😜
Beautiful pit. I myself prefer a insulated firebox also. Less prone to problems from weather and much more efficient fuel use. Well done 👏.
Totally agree
Looks great! Looking forward to more videos soon
What a pit! Great to see the return of the videos. How does this put change your operation do you only do one cook for a Saturday service?
Your back! 😃
Hello. New to your channel, loving it so far. Quick question. I haven’t seen others put wood in the cook chamber before. What’s that for? If I’m right, you’re putting between fire box and food, for flavour? Thanks. Dan.
That firebox tray is brilliant
It really is. It’s insanely useful when you want to dial up or down the fire
Looks a fantastic pit Dave
The fire management was a great idea! I’m sure we’ll start seeing something like that in the US after this video.
I think so too!
WELCOME BACK
That pit looks awesome, looking forward to more videos. Any plans for BBQ pop-ups over the coming months?
Looking good Dave. Looking forward to the videos! I promise 😅
Really like that fire management apparatus they built for you - how long is your firebox and how long is the fire management apparatus - thank you
Looks Awesome!@! 🍻
Dude this pit is beautiful
It really is!
Im trippin out that a brit is making bomb ass looking bbq like i make or id get down the street here in Texas but over the pond. Respect!
That pit is beautiful
I Like This Setup 😎💯👍
Great video 🤙🏾👍🏽
That tray is genius. You should patent it!
That thing is definitely a beast! Well done. Do you mind if I ask what it cost?
Wow 🤩😍
She’s a beauty AND a beast!
Great small party catering smoker for weddings and other get togethers
Hello pit looks cool what is the dimension of the firebox
Man that thing is a beast!
Looking forward to seeing more new content, I was wondering what happened with the channel.
Very nice pit. I'd really like to see more on that exhaust stack in detail. We don't have anything like that here is the usa.
Coming soon!
Epic pit
I’d love something like this but I’d like one side for charcoal so I can grill at the same time while smoking
What a beast! 😅
Curiously, you run an smaller stack without damper and it’s isolated? What size it is ? Look like 6’’ outside and 4 or 5 ‘’ in
The sliding tray is brilant
It really is
Does the pit have a damper on the exhaust stack? Love the color!
Yes it does! It’s actually an internal damper that you adjust inside the collector. However, smokey oak have updated this to an external damper, which is what they’ll use going forward. So will do a video on that upgrade at some point
Great to see you back. Do you do halal beef at all. There is potentially a huge market out there.
We have done in the past, but we cook a lot of pork on our smokers. Generally, people who want halal don’t want pork products cooked on the same pit and even at the same time
Great pit. Looking forward to some cooks with it. Do you still have the Franklin?
Yes I do!
Thanks. My Franklin should arrive in 2 weeks. What size split do you find works well on the Franklin? Thinking some beef ribs on that beast.
Bet you have to look after your neighbours well 😊❤🔥
Always!
Love the vid how do your not have your neighbours always on your back
Give them a few tasters every now and then probably lol
Do you have a website for it
Man I wish we had more options for offset smokers in the UK. These are gorgeous but a little out of my price range. Would buy an old country brazos in a heartbeat if they sold them here, really want to go the offset route but can’t bring myself to buy an Oklahoma Joe because the quality just isn’t there. The search continues….
Are there any manufacturers in the UK or Europe in general? I haven’t stumbled upon any, only here in the States. And yeah, price point for Oklahoma Joes is great, but they seem like absolute garbage.
Other than Smokey Oak of course
@@wyo_garage20 Theres now several Pit builders in the UK. Ironbrand Custom Smokers, MidWest Pits and Grills, Leviathan, Meat City Smokers and of course Smokey Oak.
How much did that beauty cost you?
Everything about this pit looks amazing except those tiny casters 😢
These were used so the unit would fit through my garden gate, and so it wouldn’t have to be craned over the wall. No plans on moving it at anytime, so these work fine for now. Smokey Oak use track wheels for their other units
@@WilsonsBBQ I get it. Nothing wrong with it if it’s stationary. Everything else from the color to the firebox is awesome.
The castors are 150mm cast iron and are rated at 800kg per wheel. Not sure you can get much more heavy duty!?
Sweet. Came here after Chud's fart chat to support our of sympathy.
so jealous
I see your back area is very close to your neighbors. Do they ever complain about your smoke getting in there house?
How much £,£££?
Getting into pit building myself. Check me out when you can.
all that smoke must be awful for the neighbours
They love it! They often buy bbq from us
What BBQ do you recommend for a beginner who wants to do a mixture of things, ribs, sausages, brisket and steaks.
