- Today I jumped at the opportunity to drive into Boston and meet a friend at the Goodwill Outlet. It's always so much fun to shop with a friend!
I also do a little comparison in pricing between the per item rate charged in Boston vs. the per pound rate charged in NH.

So the prices were very comparable. I have not been to the bins since covid. I hope to go soon. I am on chemo so I need to be more carful. We live In A small town where we have two thrift stores. And have had really good luck with our sales lately from our little thrift stores. Plus the proceeds go directly to people in need from our small community. We recently found out they will take our eggs for food boxes. We have a big flock this year so we are knee deep in eggs. It’s nice to know our extra eggs are helping someone. We used to live In The suburbs and moved out here when our youngest left for college. Love the country ! You found such great items at the Boston bins. We always thrift when we travel. We recently went to visit our daughter who is In Graduate school in Florida. We always thrift when we are In Florida. This time I took photos to list in our hotel as we came back home. Everything sold so fast. My husband keeps saying we need to go back to Florida again to thrift. Love he loves to thrift. We were supposed to go in December but our trip has been pushed back. We are fostering a gorgeous Siberian husky. We have two huskies of our own. I ran across this homeless Husky and no way could I let that go. She has heart worms. We got her started on treatment. And we can’t leave her until she gets a clean bill of health. Hopefully in three months. My huskies have a youtube channel. Dakota & Pearl huskies. We do as well. But we are not doing videos right now. It’s my health. My days are unpredictable. I do love thrifting and resale. And would have weighed the bin bags too. Lol. You should get an Etsy account. I just filled our the app to sell. There are so many things I find that I just know someone on Etsy would want. I think that will be my 2021 goal, one of them. I did poshmark in 2020. And all I can say is why did We not do this sooner. I was really intimidated by posh for some reason. I should not have been. Poshmark is awesome! We are ( seaside thrifters) on Posh. Take care Lori! So much cheaper and less crowded and so you probably get more items that are good and you don’t have to fight for stuff. Sounds great!

I went to my bins for the first time (Los Angeles) and had a blast. It was like a feeding frenzy but people were not mean. I found amazing stuff. Ps my bins are $2.29 a lb. I know expensive compared to other places bins but it’s Cali everything is expensive
We go into a few bins in another part of our state (Oregon.) Our's are $1.55 a pound. If you buy 50 lbs or more, the price goes down to $129. We bought way too much this past weekend.

I use stock photos when I can find them but I always only post 1-2 and the rest are my own. I think they give the buyer an idea of what the item really looks like and allows them to buy with more confidence.

I live about 80 miles from Carolina. My Grandson went there for 1yr but now he's at London South Bank University in London, he loves it there!

The Boston bins are my regular bins--I go to Hudson only twice a month. I see lots of people saying how big the bins are. Just so you're not surprised when you get there--yes the bins are tall but it's very small in there as far as square footage and there's not this rotation of bins that you'd find at other GW locations. There's no new bins coming out every 20 mins or so. Also, as stated in video, no paying per pound. You pay per item. The retail store next door is pretty good. Tip-don't look through the new racks they bring out. There is signs on the rack saying not to but you might not even notice it. The staff watch you and will def say something. The security guards at front door had to escort someone out of store last time cause a customer kept sneaking to the new racks. Also, they are crazy about sitting. Say you want to go through your cart and do comps so you find a lonely wooden chair they are selling. They will come over and yell at you. That being said I love it there. There's a parking lot with free parking which is like finding a unicorn in Boston.
They've been over filling the bins here also. I find it a bit overwhelming, and tiring. The only good thing is, I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. If you find a couple good pieces in a bins, if you take the time to sort thru you could find overlooked items. Just recently I found a pair of men's jeans (in a picked thru bin) that retail for between $1,000- $3,000! On eBay they sell between $60 - $300+. I'm not a reseller, so I will usually leave the better finds on top for people (but the jeans are my size, so I bought 'em).
Here in Houston they round up to the next lb. so you’re even closer than you think as I’m sure they do the same in NH. ThredUP opened an outlet here with those style bins and I agree. It’s tiresome. Great content as usual!

Black items are so hard to get!
Chico's nailed me a couple weeks ago on Ebay. Couldn't even find Chico's in the the Vero list, but ebay pulled my listing and gave me a Vero. So I pulled all my Stock photo's there.
Wow ! I have only been to one goodwill outlet and the bins there are shallow. I was kinda shocked to see how heaped those were ( especially with the slow motion 😂) Thanks for sharing.

I’ve only been to Boston bins once but I definitely got free items. I was only charged for like 15 pieces and I think I had at least 20. Also I’m short and I agree digging in the big bins is really hard.
The pricing is just wacky! My girl was great, thankfully!

Loved seeing a glimpse of Boston. My younger daughter went to Boston Conservatory and lived near Fenway. I miss our visits there. One thing that occurred to me is that if you had picked up in Boston the silk and lighter weight items that you usually pick up in NH, Boston may well have ended up being more expensive item for item than a comparable haul from NH. Does that make sense? Maybe focus on the heavy stuff for Boston then and the lighter stuff for NH.

Really happy you found this helpful. I love catching a peak of inside different bins. I enjoyed my experience in Boston this time even more than the first time. With each trip you learn more about the culture of the outlet and get better and better at picking.
I don't like how they charge but I did notice that they are a little loose with it. The bins are definitely hard to dig through. I'm tall so I can get to the bottom but shifting all that stuff is hard! Imagine all the goodies being left behind at the bottom! And I do love the shoes there! I would love to go back someday soon!

Just don't use stock photos for Sundance items even on Poshmark. They will get you every time. I've had 2 removed from Posh because I forgot after the first time I did it and they got me again for Sundance. :)

Lori Tata we also have the Family Thrift stores and Family Thrift outlet stores where everything starts at $2 an item on Thursday’s and goes down by $0.25 each day till it’s a quarter an item on Weds! Come on down to Houston!

I remember another reseller saying she did get in trouble for using a stock photo. Becky Park? I think it was with Poshmark. I did used to do modeling and I don’t only think of the photographer but also the model and her image being used without her permission or payment.

So lucky for my bins pricing. I am in Washington State, Pasco. Our bins textile pricing is $1.59 a pound over 25 pounds it goes down to 99cents a pound. This is for shoes and all clothes or blankets etc.
I'm jealous! I wish so much that the price decreased as the weight increased. Not in Boston or in NH!

I LOVE Hell Bunny! Good find. Re: stock photos, they ARE against Poshmark policy. First page of the Community Guidelines: "We also ask that you do not use any photos in your listing that you did not take or get the permission to use." Additionally, stock photos are owned by their brands. Although the likelihood is small they would pursue legal actions against theft of their intellectual property on this small scale... they surely COULD.
The bins near me are all over filling like that so I usually travel to other bins because i like shallow bins better
I just think of how many treasures are lost in those piles. Shallow bins are so much easier to manage. Still a lot of fun!

I seem to have bad luck with stock photos. It seems like whenever I use one, the item never sells.
I do use stock photos on Poshmark but we are not supposed to I had a pair of Sorel boots taken down and just recently vineyard vines pair of jeans. Poshmark is just not strict about..but if Poshmark is contacted by the company of the item you’re selling Poshmark will take it down.
Enid Polanco vineyard vines is a stickler for people using their stock photos.

The smaller jeans sell great -- there are lots of tiny girls out there who are looking for them online! Also, I'd snatch up those Xmas pants -- holiday stuff sells year 'round -- sold more Christmas items AFTER Christmas than I did before! Maybe not on Posh, but certainly eBay! And, for the record, diving into the bins is the best part -- not sure why you'd be afraid to do that? Boston is a down & dirty GW outlet, but I don't understand why you'd not want to get your hands dirty a bit if you're a true thrifter? :) I see Posh girls at the Boston bins frequently and spot them because they are so snobby about the whole bins digging thing. Then again, being a Posh Boss is a social thing for ladies who don't really need to make money but want to be one of the cool girls. I'll pass.
