    Thanks for posting this. People need to understand that lots of people in Christchurch had mental breakdowns after the earthquake. I learnt this because I have family in Christchurch and they told me that some people killed themselves because their lives had changed so much since the earthquake and couldn't take it anymore, but people only focus on physical deaths from the earthquake instead of mental deaths from it. All of this is very accurate.

    what made recovery hard was taht there was no extra help - yes, the government funded 6 counselling sessions for each citizen, but for those of us who had severe trauma as a result - there was no help. Pysh services were stretched, and the staff as effected nd burnout as everyone else.The 'treatment' i got only made my trauma so much worse.

      I know what you mean in 2013 I had to leave Chch because if I didn't I was building for a major break down and the lack of help didn't help
