- Here's my first demo of this incredible fuzz pedal. This pedal is Handwired by Jesse Davey and it's available at
www.kingtoneguitar.com
Please let me know what you think in the comment section below!
Stay cool, stay fuzzy! ;)
I've been listening to this demo over and over and I am totally obssessed by this fuzz!! I have to get one! It sounds so damn good it's absolutely crazy! Thick, yet, defined, fuzzy but not fizzy, it's awesome! I must say your tasteful playing helps a lot!! Thanks for that great demo!
poprip thank you so much! It is indeed a very well built pedal! And it looks awesome too!
SO DO I , you have no idea how obssessed too
sitting here playing my vintage '69 germanium fuzz face and it sounds pretty close! top work jesse!
Impressive fuzz sound - but the clean sound from the amp in the beginning is really sweet, too...
Totally! Any idea what the amp is/was?
@@KalJoao by the looks of the rubber dogbone handle, I'll say probably a Hot Rod Deville.
@@KalJoao according to the video its the clean channel of a Two RockBi-Onyx. Check out starting 0:16
@@devilsinkpot that's what o get for listening with my eyes closed! ;)
@@KalJoao eyes closed, ears wide open.
Excellent sound! And playing too...
This is currently on the way to me along with the Duelist and kingtone switch. My life will never be the same. Unreal
How did your life turn out mate? :D
@@NERDOFUNK it's never been the same since
@@boabglen I got the same setup, its just beautiful how many tones one can get with this!
awesome!
Unbelievable playing dude
Damn you make good boxes... keep on keeping on... standing ovation.
I dig it
excellent playing
thank you!!
I'm just speechless
yea....
And some people don't understand that quest for tone ahah
I know there is just to many but damn.... you always find some jewel like this....
insanely awesome fuzz, and your playin is spot on
Zoran Sandorov Music yes indeed! Thanks bud!!
Great work buddy!
Thanks man!!
Great!!!
Jesse Davey pedals are awesome. I have their germanium mini fuzz and love that sound. But... The guitar playing was excellent. Claudio, Keep the demos coming.
Ciao Claudio, bravissimo e grande suono!! Ringrazio Antonio Gambacorta per avermi fatto conoscerete te e la tua bravura
That’s the perfect fuzz for me 👍
Great demo! Been stalking this pedal, and this is a really demo of what it does. I have the Ge Mini Fuzz, and this one is only slightly different in tone...plus I’m broke?
On the wish list!
If Christ used pedals in his signal chain I'm certain it would be this. Holy shit that sounds amazing
Christ knows his tone!
Grandissimo chitarrista ti seguirò sempre.sei eccezionale.Dainese Aldo da Padova.
Holy shit this sounds incredible. I'm not a big fan of fuzz but this is something else! Do you think it's worth the money? I'm interested in the Duellist overdrive too (by Jesse Davey) but both are so expensive. How's the build quality? Great playing btw
nickardasis thank you so much man! Yes they’re a bit expensive but worth every penny I must say! The build quality is excellent too!
My jaw dropped :D
incredible pedal, love my SI Fuzz. Truth be told, this sounds killer and it all starts with that amazing tone pre-fuzz. Assume it's a fender of some sort with just the right hint of bite that takes the fuzz so well.
Thank you so much!! The guitar is a Saticoy by Lsl and the amp is a Two-Rock BI-ONYX, clean channel almost on break up point.
Killer! I’d like to hear this vs the Ox Fuzz
Very ! Very ! sound / bravo bro ! (worth buying? for Hendrix tones ???)
Lev Denisov thank you! Definitely worth buying!
Great
I only fear the price
Hey man great demo! I own a GraceTone FF01 ( not very popular because not many were made, Its on Chris Bucks board ) and it’s stocked with NKT275’s. I going to buy a Mini Fuzz Ge or Si but they all run NKT275’s. when I saw this pedal had the option for AC128 ‘s I became very intrigued. I know those are great transistors. Any insight into the into the main difference in tone in person? Are they dramatically different than the NKT275’s? They sound great both on together that’s for sure 🙂And i saw you sold this in the comments. If you were to choose between this pedal and the Mini Fuzz ( Ge or Si ) which would you pick? If that’s too many questions I apologize lol Thanks and great playing btw.
maaaaaan. this here ladies and gents is fuckin tone to da bone!
Forget the pedal. Teach me some of those licks🤘😎
hehe thank you! Check out this video where I teach some licks in that kind of style czcams.com/video/mWF0NzA9fV8/video.html
Claudio Tristano cool thanks. I checked out your channel. Congrats on making the blues finalists. How nerve racking was it playing with Joe B? 🤘
@@ClaudioTristanoMusic Cool stuff! Cheers
I Just need to know about the amp and PUp's, sounds mindblowing @_@
where is the best pedal position for kingtone fuzz? after preamp pedal or very first of all pedals?
정연준 usually fuzz pedals should be the first in the chain but feel free to experiment, cool stuff happens when you break the rules!
Can’t find one?ya know where
Great playing. This pedal would’nt mean any thing if you weren’t a good player. Nice! Also. That’s an amazing sounding amp holy shit
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Oh yeah that amp is soooo good! 😎
@@ClaudioTristanoMusic yea man! Congratulations on your guitar journey and hours of practice. Hey I have a great fuzz in my arsenal and it sounds great through my amp but could sound better. Reason being: I have a very inexpensive amp, I’m not saying the amp sucks…no, it’s just my beginner practice amp that I’ve had and haven’t upgraded. I’m thinking the 8 inch speaker is not helping it, I’ve noticed fuzz’s flourish when you move push more air. What are your thoughts? It’s a Fender champion 20, and a Sunface Nkt red dot (I was lucky enough to get it when it was in stock so I didn’t pay the ridiculous price for it)
fuzz fantastico purtroppo io l'ho acquistato ma non posso usarlo per la configurazione della mia pedaliera perché questo fuzz vuole stare per primo in catena. Penso che lo venderò
Ciao Stefano, si i fuzz in generale tendono a voler stare all'inizio. Sopratutto se usi un wha.
Salve se decide di venderlo io sarei interessato.... 😊 grazie
What speakers are you using? Also, is the reverb from the amp? Thanks.
wecarroll im using impulse responses as speakers. The reverb is coming from the amp.
Claudio Tristano Wow, didn’t expect IRs
You sound great, man!!
I’d love to know which company are they from or maybe they’re custom created...?
Is your volume pots wide open or mostly cut down a notch ?
mario levesque it’s wide open for most of the video but I turn it down at some point
I bought it couple of weeks ago great pedal . i found it more saturated on full volume on my set up but still highly musical and pretty too :)
mario levesque same happened to me , I have a 1959HW head and although I can set nice tones, I have to set the fuzz quite low not like in this video
If anyone ever wants to sell theirs - Hit me up!!
Anyone know if these are still being made?
Matthew Gregg yes they are!
the fuzz in this video is now for sale reverb.com/item/13323729-kingtone-guitar-vintage-fuzz-2016 or you can contact me privately via youtube
just sold it...but if you're still interested check out kingtoneguitar.com
I just bought one of these thanks to this review and could not be happier with the tone!
Thing is... how do i connect my power supply to the pedal? When i do, it just shuts off.. is there a switch inside to change from battery use to 9v input?
Antoniopinto91 hi unfortunately this version of this pedal doesn’t have an external power supply, so only 9v. The new version does. Thanks for your comment!
Claudio Tristano I have the new version! It clearly has an input socket! It just stays shut down when I connect it...
@@Antoniopinto91 oh I see that's strange...what kind of power supply are you using?
Claudio Tristano I’m using a Carl Martin power supply with 9v... I just can’t find the switch to get it to bypass the battery. It works great nonetheless!
@@Antoniopinto91 I am having the same problem. I can only get it to work with a battery, not with an external power supply. Is there a switch inside to switch it over? I couldn't see one...
great! One question: do you run the fuzz in a od pedal and then in a clean amp or in a overdriven amp?
Koen Roels good question...ideally you'd run the fuzz into an amp which is set almost on the break up point (not so clean but also not so dirty) you could run it into an OD pedal but things can get a bit out of control. I hope this helps!
Claudio Tristano: Thanks! in this case it was the fuzz pedal direct in a broken up amp?
Koen Roels correct!
Claudio Tristano: Thanks. I have a fuzz phrase jam pedal but my amp is super clean: its a hook little lenny ( dutch amp). All tube but super clean. It does not break up so I have use a od pedal but i have not found one that sounds like a broken up amp. The fuzz pedal is olso a germanium one. Do you know a good alternatief for a solusion? Sorry if i ask to much 😉
Thanks in advance!!
Koen Roels I'd look into an "amp like" OD pedals. My favorite one is the Ecstasy blue pedal by Bogner. That should give you enough boost to push the amp a bit an make it a bit dirty.
That’s a bad-ass fuzz
The tone without the pedal was great !
the BI-ONYX by itself surely does sound killer!
Great playing
