Such a shockingly unique situation that no dog is likely to be familiar with.

Animals aren't suspected to have the kind of intelligence to "play along" with a trick to guilt a human into giving them treats as they were the one who was supposed to be pranked. So sure maybe the result would have been the same whether it was actually true that the dog was playing along to trick the human into feeling guilty, or it was just legitimately being tricked and therefore the guilt was still there, but the point was what if the dog was actually smart enough to play the human to get treats instead of just dumbing his way into the treats. Easy on the condescending sarcasm my guy.
